Yes, these people also try to calm themselves just "well, it's a hair, it will be okay soon". No, it's not. And it's painful to see people with gorgeous natural hair, who cruelly torture it, burn it and then say "it's just a hair". I wish I could have a natural thick hair, but I don't have such, it's genetics. I always have to care about it to maintain it just in "good" condition, it's a lot of work. I hope, you will be better soon, I wish you a good health and I really believe your hair will be beautiful
He's an expert hairdresser who has dedicated years to training and has first hand experience of how we can be emotionally affected by how our hair looks (good and bad) and how others view us. Not surprisingly, he doesn't see it as just hair. He would be demeaning his own profession for one.
Thank you for biting back at the “it’s just hair” comments! As if going through chemo at the age of 37 wasn’t bad enough, I was constantly told “it’s just hair” when I explained that I was using the Cold Cap to help prevent hair loss. It was one of the only things I could control to keep a bit of normality for myself and my young son. It is just hair - until you’re faced with the prospect of not having any. So thank you 😊
Lovely point about the "just hair". My sis in law suffers from stress alopecia, and watching her heart break as her hair came out in clumps, it wasnt just hair for her. She eventually shaved it all off, and she really rocked that look! ❤
Right but it’s their hair if they want to cut or mess it up it’s up to them, they feel like it’s just hair to them, nothing to do with people suffering from hair problems.
Hair Buddha I hope you read this. I just wanted to say thank you, thank you for explaining “it’s not just hair”. I’m 38 and Im loosing my hair. Im fairly confident it’s genetic. I would give anything for nice full head of hair. Im so self conscious and spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars of hair regrowth serums, shampoos, sprays, and even bought a red light therapy device. 😢
Same here, I'm 38 and been losing my hair since I was 25, I'm using minoxidil but it will never be like before... I'm so jealous of people with nice long hair, for me getting older means not having good hair anymore... it's definitely not just hair!
@@chiarakyaraI’ve been using the nioxin shampoo and conditioner, minoxidil sprays, hair vitamins and multi vitamin. Nothing works, and even after months of using it my hair still seems to be getting thinner and thinner😢
My mother is full Navajo and the only time her hair had been cut was when she was in a residential school she was 10 when she left and never cut her hair again. About 6 years ago she got Breast cancer due to some scar tissue from her arm being ripped off and sewn back on as a kid and the medication premarin . She started chemo and all her hair fell out . I’ve never seen her so broken or lost in my life . She lost a part of herself .
I am sorry what happened to your mom I can just imagine how she felt. When my husband how to get stem cells due to having multiple myeloma he had to go on very strong chemo he loss all his hair beautiful black hair he had magnificent hair it came back it was different but it did come back but unfortunately he did wind up dying I hope that your mom is all right please take care of yourself and your family God bless you and your family

Honestly, the first girl did not want the colors she got, but i really liked them. Imagine professionally done lavender bangs fading into pink the further you go to the back of the head. The lower hair being peach color so everytime she tilts her head you see more and more peach poking through the pink. Amazing concept tbh, i hoped she'd at least have the pink even out her hair a bit more :/
Thank you for pointing out the "it's just hair" philosophy. I have suffered with alopecia off and on for 10 years and it can be a very stressful situation on your mental health.
If someone telling about your hair ‘it’s just hair’ that’s horrible especially going through alopecia, but if these girls are saying it just hair about their own hair why is such a big deal. If they mess up and cry it’s on them.

13:00 ❤❤❤ That's exactly true! And even with no illness. Hair means so much us. Even little kids care about their haircut. It's the most flexible easy thing to chance ones appearance. It's a bunch of stuff that I just read out of their hair. It also tells me, that they care a lot about being themselves, which usually means...they weren't allowed to be themselves at one point.
