That would be Joe Marciano! I've tried some of the striper stealth rods. Good action for stripers but they've been "breaky" for me and I am very good with keeping gear healthy. Two tips broke, a tip insert came out and one of the rod butts came off. I still have four of them and I am really babying them but I will go elsewhere for future rods.
Wow! Really? I have over 50 and haven’t broken any. Send them back. They will replace them with the new versions that have indestructible tips. Put my name in the note. Email me your name. I’ll make sure they replace them. Mikesmedley9@gmail.com
@@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS They've replaced two of them already so they are top notch from a service standpoint. The rod butt, I put some glue on there and stuck it back on. I have one now with a broken tip. You say they've changed up the tips? That could be a game changer.
Yes sir!! They just changed them to new indestructible tips! You can bend the tip around to touch the blank. Normally I don’t like these types of tips because it means the rod is too limber, but they are perfect with these blanks since they are keeping the same backbone.
Great video thanks for taking the time. What kind of boat do you have, I'm in the UK and do sea fishing, I've got a little speedboat which isn't ideal obviously for fishing so looking at getting something more suitable.
Hey Mike, been going through a ton of your videos to get ready for my first year striper fishing. What size circle hooks are you using for cut and live bait? Thanks!
Awesome. I’m glad you like them. In saltwater I carry 5/0-9/0. Of the fish are eating the big chunks i use the largest hooks. If they keep dropping baits I down size chunks and hooks. Use these hooks. They have the highest hookup ratio. amzn.to/2RxIyar
Mike you got me hooked on those stealth rods!
Thanks John
Glad you like them brother.

What action on your rods have you chosen, MH? The options run from ML to EH.
I prefer MH, but M is good for freshwater when fish are mostly under 25lbs.
Joe Marciano always favorite boat to watch!,

Joe Marciano! Miss watching those Chesapeake Bay VA videos, did you come down this past winter?
This was the first winter I missed. We had a strange winter so I was unable to go.
Are you guys using the spinning or Casting rods for live and cut bait. Just went on the website and saw that the spinning rods are sold out
Casting
Hey mike. With 30lb mono how many lbs of drag are you using? Thanks!
For these MH rods we use around 4-5 lbs in open water. Around structure it can be twice that.
@@MikeSmedleyOLDSCHOOLSTRIPERS wow that's a lot lighter than I imagined. Thanks
Yep. Picture a 4-5 lb weight tied to the Rod tip and what it takes to lift that off the ground.
Good Vid, went to check out the rods, Everything is OOS.....why promote a product if you don't have it?
