    Nick bringing the horrific situation of the Rohingya refugees to light is an eye-opener. The US media spends virtually no time on this. The focus of our media is so biased and political it is sickening. You are doing a great service to expose this and you have a good heart.

If India can take Bengali refugees to protect against Pakistanis --- why can't Bangladesh do a little favor to the oppressed Rohingya? Instead, Bangladeshi politicians are taking the refugee aid worth billions of dollar and keeping in their pockets. Fuck Bangladesh government.

    Nick you are doing such a fantastic job, doing this interview can't have been easy so I commend you! I remember thinking when I learnt about the mass genocides in Cambodia that it was crazy that something like that could happen and people get away with it - yet it's STILL HAPPENING in the world! Humans can just be horrific, makes me cry everything I think about it! Anyway, on another note - 30K - I've never seen a channel grow so fast - just proves how talented you are! ;-)

      Pocket Trailblazer The sad thing is that the powerful western governments that always interfere in minor stuff, are doing nothing about this. They're just okay with people being slaughtered like lambs as long as they're muslim :) that's why some middle-eastern countries take the governments of USA and Israel specifically, as their ultimate enemies. What a pathetic world we live in :(

    I feel a sense of disconsolate despair over the current situation of the world. The world is currently facing an extensive refugee crises. Instead of being compassionate, a lot of people denounce refugees making me lose faith in humanity sometimes. These people are no different from you and me. Our country may not have the best living standards in the world but refugees will always be welcome here.

      Most people feel compassionate for actual refugees like what is shown in this video. The issue is economic migrants who claim to be refugees. If you are fleeing violence, you go into the nearest area where you dont have to experience that violence most likely with intention of going back once things calm down, which is what is shown here. What you dont do is take a boat to the other side of the planet to Western Europe, Australia, or the United States.

    A small group of my friends raised over £400,000 to personally distribute there. We felt quite good at first. Then the lads landed there and what they saw was beyond imagination. Firstly the money barely made an impact. They also saw how a lot of aid workers from 1st world countries only went there to create awareness for their own company but hardly helped with the crisis. A tragedy amongst many is that a lot of greedy people are using this crisis to get rich. The world has turned it's back on these people.

    • @LilNakz21
      @LilNakz21 7 років тому +1

      are you telling me that 400K did not make any impact there? I can imagine you could feed a lot of the refugees for weeks with that amount of money, or even buy materials to build tents and other stuff... idk man, sounds bluffing ..

    • @imandeen9382
      @imandeen9382 7 років тому +14

      That's why we were feeling quite good at first. That is an insane amount of money by many people's standard. I'll give you small details of the challenges the lads faced.
      1. Waves of people arriving
      2. Opening clinics for medicine, treating gunshot wounds, burns, decapitation, rape victims, HIV, malnutrition etc
      3. Building camps
      5. Food rations being sold at high prices to aiders
      6. Resources being sold at extortionate prices (this goes back to people looking to take advantage of this crisis)
      7. Paying bribes to corrupt police and gangs
      8. This is a genocide
      I could go on. But I don't know what to think anymore. The videos taken by my friends have taken so much out of me. I always read and heard of the evil people can do to others. But, I was not ready to see what I saw and at the scale that it is happening. The future for these people is bleak. To top it off it barely makes the news around the world. What's £400,000 in the end? Nothing. Money alone will not sort this problem. Their neighbours see it as their duty to harm them until they leave.
      What is needed is 1st world countries with power to tell Burma, enough is enough.

    • @RaqibulIslam
      @RaqibulIslam 7 років тому +5

      How little a help is, its count as relief of their endless suffering. Any help should be welcomed. At least, any support give them strength in life and believe on humanity.

    • @LilNakz21
      @LilNakz21 7 років тому +1

      No country with power will tell Burma to stop, they will just make some random statement in front of the cameras and that's it. Burma is backed by China and other powerful countries so we can forget about international support for the Rohingyas, apart from NGO obviously. Anyways, I was just pointing that with 400K pounds, many refugees could get some decent food and medicines. Glad you helped as much you could!

      @IndigoTraveller  7 років тому +8

      It does come across strange...

    • @ML-ir5vo
      @ML-ir5vo 6 років тому +5

      What is ultimately interesting about this is the good becoming the bad - or at least how she has been portrayed.I'm unaware what the Myanmar people thought about her before she was elected, but she was a political prisoner who helped bring democracy back to a totalitarian nation. That in itself is Nobel Prize worthy. Yet, here we are not long after her election and she is/has turned into an extremist. That in itself with a great deal of evidence of genocide, should cause a strip of the Peace Prize, but then again, the Nobel Prize once had Hitler as a nomination. So...
      The most interesting and sad thing about Aung San Suu Kyi was the optimism she brought that turned into this. Reading up about Pol Pot showed a similar uprise before leading a genocide. He was a revolutionary who overthrew a monarchy that ruined Cambodia. He went on to make things worse. Aung is copying a path here and one day, her history will not be "freedom fighter" but genocide leader.
      (Apologies, I'm watching all your vids from the start, hence the delay)

    It's horrifying, their stories of ethnic cleansing. But there is one thing that i cant come up to a conclusion. Why does Bangladesh and only Bangladesh have to bear the burden? If it is a humanity issue then where are the other countries? There is India just as near to them but they aren't giving them shelter. There is Pakistan and other muslim countries who have the Responsibility to stand beside their brothers in this time of crisis. There is the UN and the developed Western World, who talks about humanity and world peace sipping whisky in big air conditioned rooms, but what are they doing on the field? Why are WE the only ones who are acting like real human beings? We ourselves have so many problems of our own to deal with, so shouldn't we be told that "now now, you have done enough within your abilities. The compassion and love you have shown despite your current state is unspeakable. We salute you. But now let us step up and take responsibility. We might be late, but its not over". Giving funds and raising charities won't solve this problem. We need to come to a permanent solution, so why dont we stand up against the barbarities of Myanmar Buddhists and take these people back home, where they known they will be safe from harm and sleep peacefully for the rest of their days? Bangladesh alone can not handle this. I am no public figure, but i request anyone who is a youtuber or has a public platform to raise the issue. Drawing the world's attention will leave them no other choice than stepping up. Thanks for your time.

    I wish one day we can wake up in a world full of peace and harmony. No more poverty, no more wars and no more hunger. Love will always conquer hate. It is up to each and every one of us to end the hatred in our hearts and stop being so greedy. There is enough food for us all. Enough land for us all. Enough shelter for us all. God tells us to show mercy, to be peaceful, to be generous so let's all teach our children these things rather than teach them to hate and be selfish. They are our future and hope for a better world. Peace ❤

    Videos like this are important social documents, especially nowadays when conspiracy theories and accusations of 'fake news' can twist the narratives. As a non-affiliated outsider your documentation has extra importance. Well done for doing this!

    I'm not sure but I don't think that part where the UNICEF donation were talk was fully correct, rohingya language is similar to Bengali so i understand some the things he said for example he said it took 20 days for them to collect ration from UNICEF or something like that. I'm not sure though, I'm just saying. And dude great job, I'd suggest you to go Myanmar next and ask their people about these issues and let us see what they think. Btw there's no Muslim in Myanmar, only Muslim were rohingya and now they are out of Myanmar.
