- Johnny Depp Amber Heard trial: Johnny Depp on Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Sparrow inspirations. Johnny Depp has revealed how his input changed the original version of the Jack Sparrow character in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. 'The character of Captain Jack was more like a swashbuckler type that would swing in shirtless and be the hero. I had quite different ideas about the character, so I incorporated my notes into the character and brought that character to life. Much to the chagrin of Disney, initially.'

I want Johnny Depp to win this trial, look directly at Amber, and say, “You will always remember this as the day that you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow”. Then I will be satisfied. 🙏
He should leave her just like he left Penelope Cruz stranded in an island. "You missed" !
If filmed, that would be the goat move!
He has been in court once before
💀
uff...this needs to happen..and with that toothy grin
When you're meant to be conducting a civil court case but just take the opportunity to interview Johnny Depp
The lawyer is making the case for financial harm caused by the defamation.
for real!!!!
AND NO ONE STOPS YOU! HAHA
@@oneskillpoint4669 the one asking the questions is Heards lawyer, no?
Even the judge wants to yell "Relevance!" but the answers are so interesting everyone keeps listening.
Shame on Disney for not standing behind this man
He’s a straight man and not a pedophile. Why would Disney help him?
What I found interesting was his explanation of why he (Jack) always wobbled when he was on land because he had 'sea legs' for most of his life on the open sea and every time he was on land he would wobble.
I always thought he was just acting like Jack was just drunk.
There were no objections during this! Everybody wanted to hear about the Captain's origins under oath
hahaha i know right loved how there's no heresay or whatever lool
and this really hasNOTHING TO DO WITH HIS CASE!!! yet not a sound in the courtroom...everyone attentive
"OBJECT...!" everybody "SHHHHH!"
@@newyorkmae8455 It’s sortof relevant. This part of the trial was to establish a general backstory to his career in order to give the jury (and everyone else) an idea of what Depps career entailed and how Heard’s allegations may have caused financial damage to him.
Hell yeah! This is content some of us will never hear otherwise! Lol
“How did you get the role of Jack Sparrow?”
Johnny: “CAPTAIN…Captain Jack Sparrow!”
He always calls him captain…never just Jack Sparrow. That’s dedication even after all this
“You may kill me but you may never insult me. Who am I? I am Captain Jack Sparrow!”
I love how he doesn’t address him as “Jack” or “Jack Sparrow” he knows the character so well he instinctively says “Captain Jack Sparrow”.
Justice for Johnny. This accusations have almost taken his career to the ground. Enough if enough, give this man the peace he deserves.

It’s more like a movie interview then a court case being a Johnny depp fan enjoyed watching it tbh 😆
This is a true artist talking about his craft. Amber is simply somone who wants to be famous and loves the attention.
How is he blacklisted... And she isn't?!?!

It's sad. You can tell he genuinely loved playing captain jack. Like that was gonna be the one character that made him a legend for years to come. Not that he isn't now, but I feel that's they way he feels. A genuine love for that character and pain for it being robbed from him.
Get that justice Johnny.
i adore listening to him talk about how he put his heart into the character for Captain Jack Sparrow honestly the only celebrity i really care about
All he's doing is playing Keith Richards in a hat.

The way he talks about the character of Jack Sparrow and his approach makes me realize that the series really paved the way for the kind of tone the Marvel franchise would later adopt. Pretty interesting to think about actually
When JD show's up at places like Vancouver's Children's Hospital for a surprise visit, there is no way that a man like that could be labelled as an abuser of any kind. Thanks JD for putting smiles on so many faces. 💗

8:03 so that's why Captain Jack is always swaying when he talks on land, because he's instinctively swaying with the sway of the ship! I don't know if that was obvious at the beginning, or if it was mentioned in the flim (haven't watched them in a while), but wow! It just added another complexity to the character for me. It's awesome to hear him talk about Jack and why he acts the way he acts and how he developed that.
For all those asking about what this has to do with the trial......
I'm guessing it's to do with helping the jury understand the character of the man,and how he thinks and works ect.
Also to demonstrate his financial loss that Heard’s accusaions have caused him. Disney didnt want to work with him anymore so they didn’t make a fifth PofC movie. And he was supposed to be in the Fantastic Beasts franchise but they recast the role.
@@ginat.8064 They didn't made a sixth movie 🙈 there are 5 pirates movies

nah this is all for theatrics and publicity because its such a heavily publicized case in the media. talking about how he incorporated ideas from cartoons to develop captain jack sparrow has nothing to do with his character, ethics, and who he is as a person. I love Depp and I hope he wins this case but I feel bad that the court, Heard's legal team, and the media are trying to turn this into a trending TV show like the OJ case.
@@Filipmrx There were talks that they were thinking about another Pirates of the Caribbean movie coming out. It wasn't in production, just something that they were debating on doing.

For any one asking what this has to do with this case I will try to explain he lost the role of captain Jack Sparrow because of Amber's op-ed and that coveted role was very important to him ,he loved being Jack Sparrow and the op-ed in his mind is the reason he no longer has that opportunity and he wants the jury to know how important it was to him, how much of himself he invested in that role. This isn't about money it is about what she did as he sees it what she did to his reputation and how he lost part of himself when he lost the role of Captain Jack Sparrow that is what this is about whether she is the reason or not he believes she is and just as his mother did someone else he loved hurt him very much and don't think he didn't love her because you can sometimes hear it in his voice when he talks about her well that is my analysis for whatever it is worth
Notice how he starts speaking more clearly when he talks about Jack Sparrow.
”Captain”…. Captain Jack Sparrow
What a genius of a man!!! It's like he has taken everyone on a journey and no one wants his stories to end

Yes! I had to laugh when the "Internet Expert" was on the stand talking about how many comments are negative towards Amber. They were trying to say that there was a Smear Campaign against her made by Johnny, his lawyer Mr. Walman, & his Public Relations group. I thought " No, it's because no one likes Amber !".

can someone please explain to me why is the character of Jack Sparrow important for this trial? I'm not asking this to say that it is not, I'm genuinely interested to learn why are the lawyers asking questions like these? Thanks!
Most likely to show the court the background of Deep to show that his history has no evidence to support Amber's claims
I thought the same
Because, due to the case he wasn't allowed to act in the movies as jack sparrow.
to account for the economic lost due to him not allowed playing jack sparrow again in POTC 6.
In many court cases, the lawyers try to paint a picture of the character of a person. These cases are not just about what happened, but what kind of a person you are that is behind why you do what you do. If his lawyer can accurately paint a picture of Johnny as this artistic, loving, generally peace-loving father and paint Amber as a psychopath that poops on beds, it’s better for your case.
All very interesting to us fans, but why exactly is he having to talk about this in a courtroom? I mean what does any of this have to do with the case?
Being a lawyer is like boxing science
A Defamation case has to not only prove that the Defamation occurred but that it had a real and tangible effect. The importance of his career to him financially and emotionally are important there.
Studying the behaviour, the motive that can relate to the case, like tendency of rage when he was angry or something. Or being a dramaqueen like you are the most important actor on set.
