    epson makes a double sided version of the matte photo paper and it’s amazing I use it for my greet cards. U have to pay close attention to the front of the paper packaging it will say double sided matte in rather small letters on the front

    Ugh! Trial and error can be so expensive and time consuming but oh so necessary. Those bookmarks are absolutely stunning, all the colors are so vibrant. I can see that Boba Tea illustration as an Enamel Pin, it is SOOOO cute!

      Yes, it can be! Once we figure it out, it's very rewarding, haha. Thank you so much! I'm really happy with how the bookmarks look like. It'd be fun to turn it into an enamel pin! We'll have to see in the future.

    I'm so glad you figured out double sided. I will try the way you did the next time I need too.. I got so frustrated that I used double sided tape, for my cards!..lol Your bookmarks and notepads came out amazing! I love the colors. I'm so excited for your new plans and adventures and hope for continued success on your wholesale dreams.

    You have a great deal of patience and your bookmarks came out beautifully! When I did double-sided bookmarks, I created a pattern that covered the full page and then put the 5 bookmarks with logo etc on the reverse, a lot easier to cut. I think the Epson paper you have would be nice for magnetic bookmarks, seeing as you can only print on one side nicely. Oh and I found that magnetic bookmarks were a better seller than the standard ones. 😊

    Double sided products can be tricky. I changed my photo paper products to double sided matte. It’s super helpful with the color quality but you still have to deal with the alignment. In the event you do want to outsource, bookmark manufacturing is actually inexpensive compared to manufacturing other products and usually you can find manufacturers who do low MOQs. 😊

    Omg I HAVE to comment because I ordered the exact same paper from epson as you (it came yesterday) and I was SO dissapointed as I took out the first paper and I really didn´t want to use it and I only realized now, because you metioned it that it is the protection paper.... :'D

      Haha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who did that! I'm a little sad with how thin the photo paper is, but images seem to print on it nicely.

      @@MayYangArt yes totally, i think it feels nice but to thin. Not shure what I do with it now. I wanted to make prints and bookmarks but it seems a little thin for both of it. Hmm...

    How did you flip the wording? Could you do a step by Step on how to fix the bookmarks so it lines up?

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  8 місяців тому

      At 5:59 you'll see that I didn't make any changes to the back that had words. I flipped it horizontally and then vertically. When it comes to lining up the bookmarks, I use Procreate on my iPad and it has a function called Snapping that helps me line them up. If you have it as well, you can find that function by pressing the arrow button on the top left and then you'll find Snapping on the bottom left. I know some other programs have something similar. At 5:43, you'll see that the spacing for the front of the bookmarks is further apart compared to the back. The back is slightly bigger to give some wiggle room.

      @@MayYangArt okay, thank you so much! I was able to find the snapping tool. Now my bookmarks are not lining up 😭 I can't find any videos that explain it. Your bookmarks came out so cute, btw! I love them!

    Can i ask what kind of paper we should use when making memopads? I wanna do it at home but I don’t wanna use normal A4 paper but make it thicker(?) 🥺 thank youuuu ♥️

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  Рік тому

      Hello! There are different paper weights. The standard is 21 lb. Then there's 24 lb, 28 lb, and higher, which makes the paper quality feel a lot better. Right now, I'm using a 32lb paper that's specifically made to make printing on it look nice. It's the Xerox Bold Digital Printing paper.

    Can I ask, when you cut the laminate close to edge, doesn’t it come open? How do you get it to look laminated but no edge of laminate showing?

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  10 місяців тому

      As of right now, I haven't had any problems with the laminate coming undone. I've also laminated stickers, Patreon rewards, and signs when I vend in person and they're still fine. After I cut the laminate, I run it through the laminater another time.

    How do you get them to align?

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  Рік тому +1

      Create a file where the front and back are at the same spot, but make the back a little bigger to give yourself some wiggle room when you cut it. The back side needs to be flipped horizontally and then vertically so it's facing the right way when printed. Save your files as a PDF. When you print them, make sure the same end of the paper is going into the printer for both sides.

      @@MayYangArt hi, would you consider possibly making a video dedicated to showing step by step how to get two different designs to line up? I have no graphic design experience but I am making a bookmark for this nonprofit I work at. The front and back are two separate designs. I put in the same exact px so number wise the bookmarks are the same but they’re still coming out different all different sizes 😭. How much bigger should one size be? I just, am really having trouble with uniformity 😭

    Oh the struggle of printing double sided 🥲 The one lazy friendly method that I ended up doing is using Word to set up the print file where side one is left justfied and side two is right justified. As long as the margin on the left and right matches then it prints out aligned for me.

    • @MayYangArt
      @MayYangArt  Рік тому +1

      That sounds a lot easier to me, haha! I'll have to try it out sometime.
