Assembly of Electric-Solar Powered Inflatable Dinghy

    Slide sequence shows assembly from storage/travel mode to ready-to-go.
    In less than 15 minutes, Gary Ehrsam of San Francisco, CA unpacks, inflates 3 main chambers of dinghy plus keel plus drop stitch floor, installs seat, installs bimini, puts dinghy into water and installs motor.
    Final image shows Gary attending participants in Alcatraz Swim Event in his Electric/Solar Power Dinghy. Gary says that he used about 20% of his battery getting to event site, then motored along with swimmers for a couple of hours, during which time his battery was partially recharged before returning to launch site.
    Solar/Electric Package
    * SeaEagle 10.6 Inflatable Dinghy with Bimini and padded aluminum seat with under seat storage.
    * Torqeedo 1003 Short Shaft 24V-1000W electric motor with 520W Lithium-Ma Battery: Includes GPS and displays speed, power consumption, battery charge and it calculates remaining range given speed and battery charge.
    * PowerFilm 24V - 42W Solar Panel plugs directly into Torqeedo Battery. Flexible PowerFilm panel zips on bimini for power or zips off to roll-up to store.

    Performance:
    Speed at Max power (1000W): About 5.8 mph (Range: about 3 miles)
    Speed at Max Solar input (45W): 1.8 mph (Range: about 30 miles until sun comes up again)

    Good idea to drive the motor without the battery

      I think the motor has an integrated battery.
