    Hi!! Thanks for sharing!! Just a question: which of the two foils (eagle vs. sk8) has better lower wind capability and lower stall speed? I tested the sk8 950 (jibes and tacks level) on flat water (68 kg, 5.0 Strike V2, 75 L) and was struggling to come on the foil at 12-15 knots. Probably the wrong pumping technique, but I found it a really difficult foil compared to my Phantom 1280. Maybe I should have tested the 1050. cheers! Jordan

    • @MurraysSports
      @MurraysSports Рік тому

      Compared to Phantom... it's less about stall speed and more about stall angle. You have to be more gentle in your angle of attack, or the foil will stall. However, the glide is much better, so you can foil through lighter air. Harder to get up... easier to stay up. If you're riding on glassy water, go for the eagle, and consider the 200 carve stab once you've got a handle on it. The sk8 is similar, and better for waves. The Eagle is better for freeride, speed and glide. The pump technique is less violent, and the amount of rear foot pressure to get up is less. As you start out on a HA foil, you will find that you go up fast and stall, then you make the movement much more subtle and it jumps out of the water well...

      Dray mentions the separate bladders, trailing edge material mention was cut. It should effect longevity, but not blatant on the office inspection. We already rambled a bunch😓. More details after some riding. The reinforced section at the back of the main strut is very stiff.

    • @MurraysSports
      @MurraysSports Рік тому

      The Phantom line is a great place to start, your size and experience as well as wave type would determine size. Likely the 1480 for small-med waves for average (80kg) rider. Smaller if you're smaller or riding more powerful waves.

    how much is too much air pressure?

    • @MurraysSports
      @MurraysSports 2 роки тому

      it only takes a couple of PSI. I like to make sure that we don't seal the hull with the blower. A small/ weak shop vac produces too much pressure if you were to seal the hose to the drain plug or hatch. In the video the hose is loosely pushed against the drain plug, allowing plenty of pressure to escape. The trick is low pressure and high volume.

I have a 9 m 2022 XS and 2 FS 2021 The Xs is a really good ,hard bar pressure ,powerful not good low end not for everybody . One of the only kite that can compete with the xr core and Evo duotone for big air .

    I have 8 cats, and have done a lot of repairs, over the years. I just did the same thing you did, to my H16, but not quite the same. First, you don't need to put so much epoxy in a cup, and then, the cup should be wider. The deeper the level of epoxy, the faster it will dry. It can harden up all of a sudden, due to heat, generated by the epoxy. Just keep on putting it in the cup, a little at a time. Also, I put only one layer of cloth, tho 3 is better. It is more weight, and not needed, especially if your worried about the wear and tear, of putting on the cat track. And if you use multiple layers, you should alternated between different weaves of cloth. Lastly, you should use 60 to 80 grit paper, on the edges. Then on top of that, finer grit, to blend it in. Also, you need to paint it, since sun deteriorates epoxy. First put on undercoat primer, then the surface paint, on top of that.

    I've been wearing the RV Gath helmet for 18 years. A handful of times my Kite Board has hit me in the head, I've been fully protected each time and continued to ride. Knowing without this coverage, a hospital ride was next, or worse. Keeps the sun off of chrome domes and elements out of my ears. I never Kiteboard without this helmet.

      @@MrMedicAdnan In hind site that may have been a medium, I have put on about 15 lbs since the video and now I could not comfortably fit a medium. I currently have a 42" chest, 37" waist, and wear size 32 pants. The large fits close and does not have much play due to the elastic webbing on the sides. I can only pull the mid section about 2 inches away from my body when its zipped up, and that is flexing the elastic pretty hard.

    2:10--Epoxy isn't a catalyzed reaction, like polyester or vinylester. In epoxy, both the resin and the hardener become part of the final product. If you don't mix epoxy correctly, it won't cure correctly. You'll end up with with un-reacted hardener or resin, and the end product will be soft.

    Very please with the PRO. Used it for 505 racing: in 15+ knots in the ocean with large swell it was comfortable and the waist belt added great lumbar support. In 5-10 knots and flat water I removed the waist belt for better mobility and still had plenty of support while trapezing . The Velcro entry felt secure, with no slipping though a long day of sailing. The hook felt robust and was easy to hook/unhook. I really like the lack of straps and buckles. This is the first nappy style harness I have used and after 2 long days sailing from 5-20+ it was more comfortable than the harness I have used for the last 12 years.
