Central Selkirk Caribou Recovery

The Central Selkirk herd of southern mountain woodland caribou are a species at risk under the BC Species at Risk Act.
The Arrow Lakes Caribou Society has taken action to recover this caribou herd by constructing a caribou maternity pen in the Selkirk Mountains near Nakusp, BC. The maternity pen and other recovery actions are leading to increased calf survival, and therefore, herd population increases and eventual recovery.
