      hi, manda. how are you going to grow your spud? i presume the same way as me, by cutting out and planting the individual eyes. i was impressed with everyones efforts last year, this is why i also had to have a go at this years potato challenge. keep us up to date with your efforts................brian

    Hi Brian that's great Ron sent you last year's challenge spud as the results from that one were brilliant, hope you get the rats and mice sorted and the very best in this year's challenge.

      ron and susan are very special friends. i feel i should be helping ron, now, but i'm stuck in this bloody chair and unable to travel. i thought last years potato challenge results were impressive. i have an idea that might give me a bigger yield, assuming this years spuds are indeterminate. by the way, when's your next video due. i think you two make a great husband and wife team. i admire bill's patience and laid back approach to gardening, and your ability to prove it's not just mans world when it comes to using tools, val................brian

    Good one Brian, a pity it was cut short, we have had another visit to the hospital with Susan and she now knows she has liver cancer and she is dealing with it admirably, Take care my special friend.

      it's not the sort of thing we want to be dealing with, but susan seems to be made of the good stuff. it probably makes it easier for her knowing her man has a big heart and is standing by her. i did try to ring a couple of weeks ago, but i reckoned you were either busy or not up to taking calls. keep in touch old friend..................brian

    Hello Bri how does it work the most spuds from a single chitt or 1 big spud what are you going for

      i'm going to try and emulate what was managed in last years single seed potato. the heaviest yield. i've also entered this years challenge................brian

      Even Brian, I’ve just got involved with my local garden show and they have a class for most yield from a single potato in a five gallon bucket. I see you have put the chits in quite small pots, do you then pot them on as such? I’ve never seen that done before. Thanks Pete.

    • @briansgardenandpolytunnel8172
      @briansgardenandpolytunnel8172  8 місяців тому +1

      they most certainly will get potted up as soon as they reach 4 inches. what a lot of people don't realise is that most maincrop are indeterminate, so i will be putting another pot on top, minus it's base......................brian@@Petetrenouth
