She fell asleep on my shoulder during our first train ride together whilst we shared her iPod listening to this song. I broke my hand years later, for the first time in my life, punching my mirror after I found out she cheated and was planning on proposing while crying to this song. I still wish you the very best and I love you, where ever you are...
Fuck man this is very sad
Lol
Big oooooof😂
@@Lfc15Lad So we are the same. Laughing at people who don't understand if you love someone you probably going to get your heart broken( so it shouldn't come as a suprise)The statistics are right there staring them in the face, but they choose to ignore it, living in delusion. Strong minded people don't fall in love. Love(Romance)is a weakness.
@@princeosars3298 It's been a year. Have you grown up yet?
Marcus' voice is heavenly
I keep coming back to this beautiful song. I dated someone for nearly 3 years and every so often we connect about lingering questions. I still deeply love him yet know we are better for other people. I am Christian and long for a Christian husband. He longed for a sense of peace and eventually found it in someone else. This song helps me to grieve.
Aynsley Smith i feel the exact same.
Definitely the best band ever
Marc Darr definitely not
Lol
One of the top folk bands at the time yes
I love a lot of great bands but you are not wrong.
Definitely
hot damn! This song rips me to shreds every time I hear it. I used to sing this to my baby boy when he was stuck in the NICU for 61 days before he could come home to us. Thank you Mumford and Sons for all your beautiful music. Just so no one gets too sad from my comment.. My boy David is a super healthy 4 year old now... and I still sing this to him sometimes when he can't fall asleep.
Just don’t do the vaccines
🤗
Often surprised that this didn't make it to the original album and not just the delux version!
thank god there still talented musicians in the world...
indeed there is a metal junky like me and can't get over these guys love it
Nick Cheeseman Agreed. These guys are the real deal.
cyanide316 I agree. Music the way it should be
The three people who disliked this have no souls. My favorite band, an amazing song of Mumford & Sons, who always strum the strings of my heart.
😂 this is a narrow minded point of view.
I really appreciated their first album. It was truly amazing and unlike anything that came before it. But, like most starving artists they let their mouths industry and the list for fame tear their souls from their work.
This song is just ok.
Art is objective. Plain and simple.
Things always get better, until then...keep listening to Mumford & Sons ;)
44 years, and I still wonder. Guess it will never stop. I’ll let you all know when I start listening weekly to George Jones singing “He stopped loving her today”
When you think you're just going to listen to a song, then your brain goes "Here's some memories..."
I cant help but relate to all of there songs this one definitely hits really deep
"Do you ever think of me, in the quiet, in the crowd." Gets me every time.
Adrian Lee X39 Gaming Ditto. The song is so melancholy. Also, I know this doesn't really relate to anything, but I once had a dream that Marcus, Ben, Winston, Ted, and I were all sitting under a table with a white table cloth at a very fancy Starbucks in Italy. Marcus was telling me all about the lyrics to this song, and why he wrote it. Despite the odd setting, it was actually quite deep and emotional dream.
Same
They are so incredible. Very few bands sound THIS GREAT live... Beautiful.
if there was ever a song to relate to, this is it.
They should play this more often. Such an underrated song
I lost my grandmother to brain cancer not long ago. I think about her almost every day of my life, but for some reason, this song reminds me that she may very well be thinking of me too. I can only hope that more people out there can find comfort in this song in the same way that I can. It's as profound as it is sad.
Amazing - this is the new order. Thank you so much for your support from afar!
One off the all time great bands off our generation, my hat is off to you gents 😉
First heard them play this song in Florence Italy and I remember it hitting me like a ton of bricks. God made that voice for one reason and one reason only. Thank the lord he chose to use it just for that purpose.
holy mother fucking shit. i'm just drowning in tears over here no worries it's cool guys
One of the most beautiful things I have ever heard, love this video.
The 15 lasts seconds are pure gold
After two broken relationships and two different kids ,the last relationships ended on valentines day for me totally out of the blue I didn't see it coming at all, me and her friend where picking out engagement rings , now I can't stop playing this song even my daughter has start to sing is as I must play it to much in the car , I didn't think I was until at 4 she started singing it
I just go ahead and like before I even hear Mumford and sons because they aren't capable of making bad music. Love love this . Its 2020 pandemic, quarantine of sorts.
And this is why my Detroit money supports NY's WFUV. Thanks!
Thank you for judging me and putting yourself above my broken mind as my family died. I hope that you received everything you sacrificed me for and it brought you to where you believed yourself to be..where are you now?
Wow....I really think these guys are beyond musically talented. I think these guys are musically gifted. Marcus has the most amazing voice I do believe I have ever heard.
But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?
living my whole life and never ever have I had anyone say these things to me, either not creative enough, or not passionate... this song speaks to me.
It would be nice to be nurtured with words like this.
His voice is even better live than on the album
this song speaks to me
Thus song makes me cry.
This song is brilliant!
+Abu Bardewa no doubt thus song is great
Fiar engough ...( fair* enough*) :)
Still to this day, I remember 4 years ago when I left the country you live in I cried and listening to this song... I wish you know how much I miss you. Still.
On 20 September 2013, they announced they were going on hiatus for a "considerable amount of time."
On 16 February 2014, Marcus Mumford stated on Communion Presents on XFM there will be a comeback tour in 2015.Stay tuned, they'll be back.
I hadn't heard about the comeback tour. Now I'm not so worried about the hiatus.
***** I just heard there is a strong possibility that this group will be appearing at the The Cosmopolitan Hotel,Las Vegas sometime mid summer.
where did you read the news about the comeback tour?
tbh after sigh no more they left it a long time before they resurfaced (though they were gigging), and when thy did, bringing bable with them, they did not disappoint. to me, mumford and sons are an old school band, they make good music and go away to work on more rather than smashing out album after album, quality over quantity.
Absolutely love this version!!
YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING NEVER STOP BELIEVING.
I joined the Mumford and Sons fan group way to late. I only discovered them about 6 months ago. They deserved so much more fame then they got. They put so much passion into their music. They don’t sing terrible lyrics like the current pop singers do. They made deep lyrics like Simon and Garfunkel used to. Their current music just isn’t the same. There are some good ones like forever, but it is missing the vibe these old songs have. I don’t know if there are many people like me, just wishing they could have been around to hear them play their old songs like the cave or there will be time. I doubt there will ever be a band quite like them again.
I love these guys. :')
Mumford and Sons never misses. They always make amazing songs
July 14, Dublin... Can't wait!!!
Just one thing. Thank you for existing :')
Every time I listen to this song it reminds me of my ex girlfriend and it hits so hard every single time. As long as this song exists I'll love you.. May we see each other again
I love their four part harmonies
The most exquisite of musicians 💋 have had my heart from the jump
Really good music . ...
Great voice!
Ah this song is so beautiful! I see Marcus has a little raw emotion. This song has somewhat of a meaning to him. I will get to the bottom of it!
Subscribed to KEXP and WFUV and I don't know what to do with myself.
You guys should come to Brazil soon :)
Why doesn't this have more views? Their sound is so (words have failed me)!
Made me cry
Love it

It’s the fourth time today I listen to this version: so hauntingly beautiful
Same man. 5 years later this still tickles the soul strings. Miss my best bud. Much love.

Can't expect anything best than this . Thumbs up
I dedicated this song to a man who I have feeling for and he knows I dedicated this amazing song. I just wish he could give me what I want friendship and love. He is moving away soon and I feel sadness in my heart and I hope one day I’ll see him again but that is up to the destiny

Lyrics:
"It came to the end it seems you had heard.
As we walked the city streets,
You never said a word.
When we finally sat down
Your eyes were full of spite.
I was desperate, I was weak
I could not put up a fight.
But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?
You were strangely less in pain
Than you were cold.
Triumphant in your mind
Of the logic that you hold.
You said no one would ever know
The love that we had shared.
As I took my leave to go
It was clear you didn’t care.
And where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?
But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?
And I hear of your coming
And your going in the town.
I hear stories of your smile,
I hear stories of your frown.
And the darkness can descend,
We can relish all the pain.
But I know that’s what you love,
'Cause you know I love the same.
But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?
But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?
But where are you now?
Where are you now?
Do you ever think of me
In the quiet, in the crowd?"
I cry every time I hear this
My girlfriend and I are going through some rough moments. At times things feel as the won’t change and I am just wasting my time. I can honestly relate so much to this song, it’s amazing the way music can make you feel
