- Talk about blowing the roof off the place, a killer performance of In Memory of Elizabeth Reed from the Final Set of the 2010 NYC run. On this upscaled version Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, and Oteil Burbridge shave the center stage with jazz great Bill Evans on saxophone, who of course played for Miles Davis during the 80s.
Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge, Jaimoe, and Marc Quiñones .
If you are talking about best guitarists ever, Derek is right up there. Holy crap!
Derek was feeling that soul !! Legendary
The ABB is the best live act to ever grace a stage❤️🎼🎹🎸🥁👍
I was so lucky to have seen them twice - at the Cynthia Woods Amphitheater & at the Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta. They are my all time favorite group & this is my favorite song. I have heard it hundreds of times in my life & I never get tired of it.
These songs have become anthems of american music!!!!!!
The ABB's anthem for sure, and they could STAND AND DELIVER
Oh man, this is a great version of this jam classic! Oteil is on the money and Butch and company just grooving away. Lovely to hear Bill Evans adding his flavor.
Great performance all around. Inspiring! This is my third time watching and the performance is scorching HOT .. even the normally very cool Derek can't keep from smiling ..🙂
Cheers 🍺
Hey Peter, I've had these DVDs but most of my laptops don't even have disc drives anymore, so I hadn't seen them myself in years. So I must admit it is even nice for me to have them readily available on UA-cam, and in considerably better quality thanks to software.
It's sad that most of them are in double digits or slightly above in terms of views. The camera work and production of these shows was top notch.
Anyway, I enjoy them too, and it's great to know there are a few music lovers like yourself who get it, and appreciate the music.
Good to hear from you. Cheers
When that sax solo started I wasn't too sold....by the time he got out of it - holy shit that was badass!!!!
Big honor for the ABB, Bill Evans played with Miles Davis.
...anyone else catch Butch reading minds there? The way he could lock into what a soloist was doing... makes me cry to think such a talent decided to take his own life. 😢
Derek and Warren immer Spitzenklasse Danke fuer diese Supermusik
Ebenfalls danke!
I was there those shows at the Beacon Theater were Iconic and legendary the guests were awesome including this one Bill Evans so good.
I was there they freaking blew the roof off the Beacon Theater awesome thanks for posting !

Just "Wow"..... 😌LOVE IT
😎🍑🍄🍄🍑
I bought Dicky Betts a beer years ago (early 80’s?) at Toads Place in New Haven. He politely declined said he was “on the wagon “.
Told this story at 3rd from last ABB concert at the Beacon. Guys says back to me: “I heard about that beer, you’re the guy who bought it ? Yep I’m the guy I responded. I’m the guy who bought Dicky Betts the only beer he ever refused !
God bless the Allman Brothers.
😎🍻
Best rhythm section ever…..ever
Great jam
All I can say is WOW!!
I agree!! You're one of the few who have discovered this gem. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
incredible bass!!!!!
Yep, and he's always so into the music, it's great to watch and concentrate on the bass.
The repeat on this song is so. Damn great, knows Warren and Derek. I had rather Allman Bros.
album with this song long ago.
It's 2023
What ???
Only the ABB would have had the courage to bring out a sax man to flavor one of the great instrumentals in their repertoire.
Good morning November 30,2023
And here's to a great day to ya !
Thank you Allman Brothers once again for lifting my spirits 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
😎🍑🍄🍄🍑
Badass
Indeed
Great to hear Oteil turned up into rhe mix
Indeed, he's always so into it!!!
Bill Evans is great. Besides playing with Miles he also played with Herbie Hancock on the updated Headhunters gig....
😎🎷
Dan Toler would've been great on this one 😊😊
What a great guitarist!
Dickey betts classic but without the star who wrote it.
это был выход в другое измерение!!!
Warren drove it home. Was there ever a lineup that had Dickey with Warren and Derek?
There was a very short period with Derek and Jimmy Herring, that was amazing.
that was hot.
Thanks, next level stuff for sure.
Tell me that they weren't the best band ever!
Terrific!😎
PARABENS NOSSO ETERNO PRESIDENTE JAIR MESSIAS BOLSONARO. MUITAS FELICIDADES E QUE DEUS O ABENCOE E O PROTEJA SEMPRE
I'm a long time ABB fan - my favorite American band for sure - but without Dickey Betts....sorry, it just wasn't The Brothers. Dickey's playing and the harmony that he put into their songs was irreplaceable. Yes Warren & Derek are great but they needed Dickey on stage to make it sound right
One could say the same thing about Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. I for one am grateful that the ABB rolled on for four decades, although I wish the split with Dickey Betts hadn't happened the way it did. But the music in this clip in it's own way immortalizes Dickey's tremendous compositional skills.
@@Talking2musicians I can't argue with that in any way but what I'm saying is that the influence of Dickey Betts since the death of Duane was the foundation of The Brothers. Hittin' The Note was a good album but it could have been much better had Dickey been a part of it. Death prevented Duane & Berry - that was final; Dickey's absence was due to interpersonal issues, reportedly on Dickey's part but some say that it was Butch. Who know?? I just wish that DB could have been there for the grande finale
@@GnLguy I think Derek tried to have Dickey there for the 40th, and finally put things behind them. Sadly it is what it is.
@@Talking2musicians I've seen interviews with Dickey and he seemed to have alot of bitterness, which is understandable. We'll never know the full story but I'm glad that he and Gregg talked before Gregg passed. The Allman Brothers Band, Ten Years After and Savoy Brown are my favorite bands of the 60s & 70s and sadly, all of the leaders of those bands are now gone
[オールマン·ブラザーズ]にしては皆さんイカレずに、真面目に[演奏]しているみたい🎸🎶
😅/'🇯🇵
ありがとう、日本にもオールマン ブラザーのファンがいると知ってうれしいです!
Used to play this live many moons ago and loved the groove this song had but I have to say the drummer(s) are just over playing and ruining it here.
did someone forget to tell Bill Evans to join the jam?
Why does Warren always look like odd man out?
👁
I would NOT want to follow that sax solo!
Agree, awesome.
Warren did and was superb!
That’s a bad azz jazzed up jam…sounds like the best southern blues rock on this blue dot!
😎
