You'll also need a new electrically operated gas solenoid valve for a Euro MIG torch conversion. The solenoid valve will need to be matched to the internal voltage of your welder, either 12v or 24v. You'll need a new solenoid, even if you are converting a gas MIG welder, because a permanently fixed MIG gun only has a mechanically operated On/Off gas valve behind the trigger and no valve inside the machine. The electical contact switch in the permanently fixed MIG gun only activates the wire feed drive motor inside the welder, often with a cheap strip of metal touching the valve body.
cant find any video explaining a mich torch connector wiring! i got a used welder with euro conector! but i saw one of your videos talking about an O-ring in the botton of the euro connector.. to my surprise! it was broken in half....i bought the connector replacement for the torch.... the connector have 2 wires... but the torch have 3 wires... i dont know where the other wire is hookep up! when i opened the 2 wires hooked ...ok but that one wire thats comes from the torch ... is disconnected ..everything was so poorly taped with box tape! not even electrical! can you help me with that? or i just leave that one disconnected?
Great idea but main difference is a gas valve if you convert without one your gas is not regulated by the on off switch , some kits come complete with torch , fittings and gas valve.in the UK for around £80 all you need is space inside the unit to do it .via Ebay there is a company that does specific kits but cant remember the name Did look into it with the manufacturers of mine sealey supermig 150 only got a 2 mtr torch and not euro .
Hey. Found your channel recently and thank you for all the great tips. I bought a used Telwin 270/2, 400v MIG welder recently. Total noob to MIGs. The euro connector on this machine once connected to the torch has slight play. Is this normal? I was expecting a sung fit without any movement. I haven't run gas yet to figure out if there are leaks, checked the o-ring on the torch side and that seems to be fine.
Great idea Pete. I noticed your welder and plasma cutters are Miteck, that is a brand name that doesn’t seem to be available in North America. Just wondering if the same machines are available under a different brand name here. Thanks for all the great videos. BTW Nissan vehicles were sold in North America as Datsun for many years before rebranding to Nissan. Suzuki just stopped importing vehicles to US and Canada, their motorcycle dealers will handle parts ( for how long?).
Hi mate if I was over your way I would buy LOTOS seem to be well made and good prices. Non-Touch Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter : amzn.to/3iBtgtf LOTOS MIG175 : amzn.to/3d0nCzy cheers pete
