I picked those up many years ago from Michaels (the craft store). It was a Christmas decoration that I just cut up into vague woods shaped templates. But they would be easy to make as they are indeed just mesh with flocking.
Great report...very clear explanations. I think there was a minor error at the start when you say your company HQ twice. You might want to edit that :)
Hi Chaps. Terrific report. Being very new to the game myself Im not fully up to speed on all the rules as yet, but I was wondering why the Dragon teams from the Mech platoon never appeared to fire. Particularly in the last US turn. Was that due to movement?
+Ratel Mike Thanks for checking us out! I'd have to revisit that game but in general it would have been either movement in the previous turn or targets within minimum range (8").
The US player forgot about the rules for a tank team bailing out two times in a row. The second time they bail out, you make a roll instead of placing a marker, if it beats their remount score, nothing happens. If they fail their remount score, the team is destroyed
Hi Lite Nyte, thanks for checking us out. I'm not sure what part of the battle you are referring to without a timestamp but apologize if we missed a double bail. I did see a point where a vehicle was both bailed out and bogged, this would not cause an immediate additional moral check.
Very nice Batrep. I'm still on the fence about Team Yankee, but I really like the background. I noticed this is a few years old, are you doing anything currently?
We have plans but they keep getting pushed back. Mark and I are planning on another game in the tail end of Jan, or Feb. I still need to finish my USMC
So cool to see you two on the screen! Especially Mark (Bullyboy), since he's so active on the forum. Quick question regarding force selection for the US. Why did you go with just 3 M1's per platoon? I think that's a huge risk seeing the morale rules of TY. Great battle report, I'd love to see more!
+Onomato Poeia Thanks! I realize that 3 strong M1 Platoons can be a liability but since this was our first Video Battle Report I wanted to highlight as many different US units as I could. Sadly the A-10s never made it on the board.
Wouldnt you have to test for morale when you have LESS than 2 functional tanks in a plat? Another thing: Models who fail morale are taken away. Only the ones that are bailed out get wrecked. Great Battle report, plz do more! :-)
They were firing copperhead guided missiles, which tho launched from the tube arent 155mm shells, suppose any missile can work against a slow moving or hovering chopper if the gunner/designator is good
I think Naho Saenoki is right. Copperheads were antitank weapons, not AAMs or SAMs. Not sure what's legal in Team Yankee, but this shouldn't be allowed to happen (may be a rules thing, as opposed to an "error" in the video).
+Donald Glenn Dekle actually not true. You only reroll Brutal saves vs Infantry and unarmoured tank teams (like the hail). Hinds do not fall into either category.
+Mark Francis Yep, read it again you are right, only unarmored tank and infantry teams. I am guessing that represents the helicopter jinking out of the way.
question, at the time 51.00 you shoot with us infantery on the soviet infantery, but after you hit and he fails save, why arnt you doing any fire power test?
+Soviet Spetsnaz Sure thing! just happen to have my Team Yankee rulebook handy. It's page 48. Infantry Save and Bulletproof cover sections. Wheat fields do not provide bulletproof cover.
+Markus Latham Thanks for checking us out! Sometimes dice just turn cold. That's the danger in having a small number of high point value tanks. Every loss is huge.
The problem with Battlefront is you might as well forget the manuevering of vehicles and just roll die and maybe flip a card or two for a shot at at a lucky hit. Notoriously inaccurate. The best rules ever are Tractics by TSR (Gary Gygax). You dumb it down as much as you want for fast play and add as much as you want for small unit skirmishes and everything in between. The next best is A Fistfull Of Tows III (Full Version 400+ pages). Class this and class that is horseshit.
Just another dice rolling fest we have seen a thousand times before. CHarles Grant had better rules that this back in the 70 -80s. When are we going to make any progress in rules development. When are you guys going to think outside the box? Dice dice dice - buckets of dice. will it ever end??? There are other ways to do this so it is quick and logical and has some tactical decisions to make. These are rules for simpletons as usual, thinking would just be too difficult for your players. Someone give you strength to find something new and innovative.
Great battle report! Very exciting till the end. I can't wait to play this game! Keep up the good work guys ;)
We really need to get another Battle Report done Jon!
Absolutely , I should be back among the living next week
I could barely hear the Soviet players commentary
Nice game report....
Merci pour ce moment.
Nice game report, hope to see more of TY on your channel!
+Chris aka Sgt. Scream Thanks, we are planning on more coverage soon!
Lovely video, thanks!
Polish dice for a Soviet force... No wonder they wouldn't score right! :D
really enjoyed it thanks
0:48 but is the HQ of your force one M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank?
Yup, 1 M1 as the HQ
How did you guys make your woods? Looks like wood pulp glued over mesh. I like the effect.
I picked those up many years ago from Michaels (the craft store). It was a Christmas decoration that I just cut up into vague woods shaped templates. But they would be easy to make as they are indeed just mesh with flocking.
Good game-those armies look great :) I need to do more Flames of War some time.
Great report...very clear explanations. I think there was a minor error at the start when you say your company HQ twice. You might want to edit that :)
It does seem like Risk XD a bit confusing, but when you understand it
it’s fun
hard time hearing Soviet player great job though hard to believe US lost!

I love the NATO three tone on the US units. They look great!
+FalconKPD Thanks! I'm a fan as well
i really enjoy the game I like the green and red colors as you go from turn to turn. So Sorry us lost but it was the dice not the strategy!
Yeah, I need to do that more often. Just adds time in the editing bay... thanks for noticing!
sound was pretty quiet in this report, especially your opponent
Glad to see Jake won last game Way to go Jake!

Your undamaged Tank would have left the field.
Very nice Batrep. I'm still on the fence about Team Yankee, but I really like the background. I noticed this is a few years old, are you doing anything currently?

This game looks even slightly more awesome than flames of war...

Thanks! I'm not sure what part of the battle you are referring to concerning moral but you are right. Morale test if less then 2 active tanks.
109s can shoot at Hinds? that just feels wrong some how
They were firing copperhead guided missiles, which tho launched from the tube arent 155mm shells, suppose any missile can work against a slow moving or hovering chopper if the gunner/designator is good

James Johnson they are laser guided which means they can shoot at anything
Copperhead rounds have brutal. That Hind should have re rolled that successful save.
+Donald Glenn Dekle Good Catch. true, while it id in the rules it seems a little silly against choppers.
+Donald Glenn Dekle actually not true. You only reroll Brutal saves vs Infantry and unarmoured tank teams (like the hail). Hinds do not fall into either category.

+Soviet Spetsnaz Hi! You only need a firepower check if the infantry successfully dig in. (i.e.in bullet proof cover)
+All Miniatures Great and Small really? can you say what page is says that so I can re read it?
+Soviet Spetsnaz Sure thing! just happen to have my Team Yankee rulebook handy. It's page 48. Infantry Save and Bulletproof cover sections. Wheat fields do not provide bulletproof cover.
+All Miniatures Great and Small thanks mate. because I have to say that this book is hard to understand for a non native English speaker :(
Sound quality was rubbish
Game?
Do you make or buy your terrain?
Its a combination. Roads, buildings are from Battlefront, we built our own fields, hedges and woods.
Thanks for checking us out
Hard to hear
Very Bad Sound ... Looks Fun
Vehicle scale in TY and FoW is what turns me off to the game. Parking lots for tanks? No thank you. 6mm for me.
Totally valid way to play. I might try it if I wasn't so invented in 15mm terrain
That's very bad luck, why does a guy fails all his 4+ to save and the other suceeds all his 5+ fp? Damned dice! :P
+Markus Latham Thanks for checking us out! Sometimes dice just turn cold. That's the danger in having a small number of high point value tanks. Every loss is huge.
Hoping that won't happen too often for my Leopards. Talk about high cost tanks...

Pro tip: Use a microphone.
Lol a 50 cal on a Hind the bullets literally bounce of the armour in real life as the chopper flys around at a good speed

Sooo... i couldn't quite tell... you don't like Team Yankee?
Are you barking on the players/uploader because they play a game you dislike? Thats nice..
