GAS vs BATTERY
-
As you can see the Hatchet M18 pruning saw chews through the wood faster than the gas chain saw.

Of course the carburetor is off trim, and the chain is dull. But i get it, battery is simpler. But for high rate productivity, nothing beats a good ole gas chain saw.
Exactly
True
fr they using the worst top handle saw
yes sir
milwoki might be a weak machine to decide on this emberrassing comparison, I wouldn't buy
Hook it up to a good running stihl saw with fresh chain and go again 🤣🤣
It's the m18 hatchet not even the full size
@@RGBmechanics but the chainsaw isnt full size either
@@fulltimemechanic3109 right. That's why I'm saying it's a fair comparison
An 880 magnum, muffler mod, and full chisel chain. 🤣👍
@@RGBmechanics not at all... brand new chain vs dull chain
“Hey, lets compare a brand new tool to a poorly running beat up tool and hopefully nobody will notice.” What a complete joke
Did you buy that two cycle chain saw from a garage sale. Next time sharpen the blade and tune the sad engine.
That chainsaw is straight piped bro 💀
What blade? It’s not a knife brother
@@chaiselabrie6965 still has a blade
@@BlakeT no it has a bar and chain. No blade.
@@chaiselabrie6965 bruh it’s basically a blade.
Milwaukee really needs to start employing salesman that actually have worked in the trades.
That’s their whole thing is focusing on tools for specified trades wdym bruh these guys just doing what the boss says using that garbage chainsaw
This video brought to you by:
People who sell battery powered chainsaws.
This is not a comparison..is a sales pitch!
As a professional arborist for 23yrs I know this test is a set up. The petrol saw is a poor quality saw with a blunt chain. The electric saw, they are trying to promote, is brand new and most importantly sharp.
Thats got to be the worst gas chainsaw money can buy
Can't you see how fucked up that chain is? It's bouncing ffs.
Milwaukee really did echo dirty on that one. Just show the new saw. we dont need a comparison that is obviously rigged
They could have even used a lil pulan with the correct 2 stroke mix
It's funny, our fire hall bought a shit ton of electric tools from Milwaukee and none of the saw's could keep up or perform anywhere near as good as gas powered.
Well. At least didn't have to wake up the whole. Neighbor hood
Any good two stroke will smoke the Milwaukee. They used the biggest piece of shit saw they could find for this test.
exactly!!
The guy with the electric one is pressing really hard, while the other guy is just holding it up and letting gravity do the work. Also, I like how the gas one took two tries to start, very nice touch to the performance.
Dull chain and that's the tiniest Chinese saw I've ever seen
Buddy didn't even let the fucking saw start cycling properly before he put it into that lmao 😂
20 min later…… one of them is still running.
Takes three batteries to work all day with electric. Takes less than an hour to charge all three for the next day. Try it out, you'll be surprised.
@emp5352 I'm going electric. Gas has too much problem. 😅
Yeah the gas one is still running 20 minutes later. fill up on the gas one and you don't have to fill it up for the next couple of days unlike the batteries. The batteries don't actually last that long either though even if you keep recharging them. Every time you recharge a battery it will run out of juice more quicker than the first time you used it
Batteries only last a little less than a month until you have to buy new batteries which would cost more to do that than just to keep filling it up with gas
Batteries for chainsaws are expensive
As if that chain wasn’t dull asf
Even rigged the chainsaw chad still looks way more badass then the npc electric chainsaw
It might convince the average unknowing home owner 🤣
If you have to rig the test, your tools must not be good enough to sell themselves.
Milwaukee must be thinking everybody's stupid to think that's a decent Gas powered saw
The chains duller than my pocket knife I love how tool company's think people are stupid
Could you imagine if they included the time it took to start the chain saw into the equation?
Step one: Find the worst gas saw you can....
Ole boy with the milwak was putting hella pressure on it too
Like 50000 pound feet of torque
How about battery powered saw vs gas after 1-2 hours of work on an actual job site in the middle of nowhere? That would be the real test.
Let's see the battery cut more than 3 times
Milwaukee should make a dual battery chainsaw with a bigger bar
Never start your saw with the chain brake on. If you feel the need to do so, then you shouldn't be operating a chainsaw to begin with.
Ikr I never used my chain break ever when starting. Only time I ever used it was if I’m leaving it running and I’m walking away a good 50 ft from it to move wood or if I’m climbing a tree and it’s hanging other than that if you use the chain break when starting or you put your boot in the handle when starting you’re an ametuer lol
I got a frenchman for a friend, always clicks the brake on after every cut and before shutdown. Tried to tell him otherwise... he likes to pull his shoulder starting them too...
I don't even give'm the chance now, I run an 80v5AH Greenworks 2.4kw, 18", semi-chisel chain.... smokes his 38cc16" and 42cc18" saws for cut speed. WAY less noise versus the gas engine screamers. Charges off a 400w inverter connected to my Corolla. I want to put another battery innthe trunk and 2 panels on the roof for constant charging.
I can cut down and block up a 24" roundx25' long tree with two charges. (Block as much as I can round 1, while the battery charges, I switch to splitting and stacking, hour later, rip the rest of the wood with the saw round 2)
@@bmw328igearheadYour friend's problem is that he's using Poulan.
@@TheKrayusKorianis I concur with your assessment.
Garbage saws on the best of days.
Many Stihls tell you to in the manual as do other saws
For short duration small lumber maintenance battery is okay, but if you are going to be in the middle of the woods logging or working regularly in large lumber, gas is by far the way to go
Milwaukee battery saw guy put is whole strength into it. The gas guy had the weight of the saw do the work.
Try and cut up that whole log with one battery
Damn!...how dull is that chain!😂😂
This is actually a demonstration about how good a sharp chain is 😂
Out that against the cheapest stihl u got with a chain that isn't dull
Yo need that chainsaw to last all day and not four cuts in can’t sit around and wait for 300 dollar batteries for my 500 dollar tool to charge when theres a 300 dollar tool and 1.75 worth of gas that can be refilled in ten seconds
its only $200+ for milwaukee, not 500.. even the full size milwaukee chainsaw is only around $450.. and there still many cheaper option such as from greenwork or ego that can be get around $100 for a set..
Dull chain.
Cmon that’s the smallest gas chainsaw I’ve ever seen in my lofe
A lot of variables here.
Our climbers switched from 201t to the husky battery. Not looking back
How about I provide the gas chainsaw next time?
True….but go for 20 minutes and see who is still running
You know you can cycle two batteries?
Just had to run it so rich it won't even stay started without full throttle. Honestly it would have looked better to lose only a little to a good running top handle then to be a few seconds ahead of a saw that won't even run.
“There’s got to be an easier way!”
The fact it can put up a fight against gas power is impressive. Give a few more years and gas will be in the past
Gimme 5 mins with that saw. I'll even the odds
Milwaukee really just said find the oldest chainsaw you can find smh
Try compairing this to a new gass chainsaw at the same price this comparison is not fair at all
That's the smallest chainsaw ive ever seen.
the chip on the milwaukee look bigger than the top handle gas and he didn't let the gas warm up too
Lmfao I’m a Milwaukee everything kind of person but it ain’t gonna beat my stihl chainsaw
Now try it with a gas saw with the same money value as the battery thing .
The gas one wasn't able to cut to the best of it's ability cause the chain wasn't sharp and the rakers was set to grab to much which slows it down. You can tell cause of the saw dust and the way the saw jumps in the cut.
I have a dozen gas saws the m18 chainsaw is awsome
So the little battery saw beats the $80 dull chain chainsaw-chainsaw off of amazon.
I love how that’s gas power saw is in the absolute worst condition… and a dull chain..
Looooook at the chatter on that thing… did you blunt it on a boulder or something?
Coming from an experienced tree surgeon and he started his chainsaw on the ground no one rightly once the chain hits the dirt it will blunted within about two seconds and if he sharpen the chain it will cut through just as quick
I got nothing against either gas/elec but if this is how milwauki "test" performance, I'm not sure they're a brand for me
😂you compare it to a dull chain
I agree with the last comment if that chainsaw was tuned up correctly it would keep up with that electric saw but in the end nothing beats the sound and smell of a good old two-cycle
I've never heard a Stihl sound like that in over twenty years of tree work haha. Chain was bouncing around everywhere too. Brushless has came a long way though, and the instant torque is impressive.
You really need chain speed over torque, project farm put weight on the end of pole chainsaws and everyone was slower with weight on it, the ones with the right amount of speed combined with torque were the fastest
I think the biggest use for electric saws is the guy.who has to climb a tree and do limbing. Much safer than trying to start a saw 50 feet in the air.
Wonder how blunt those teeth on the petrol ones were 🤣
I run a battery saw and love it, but I can say that I find myself sawing away at bigger stuff like this longer with the battery trying to not prematurely destroy the equipment and battery life is short compared to a tank of gas. A gas saw is just more durable of a tool.
Those new ones cut too quick for the cartel 😂 , minimises suffering
Two years ago i converted all my Milwaukee power tools in my service truck from electric to gas powered. The modifications involved were not that bad for the increase of work capacity provided by it. Never going back. Gas all the way.
Not only is the gasoline chainsaw badly running and with a dull chain, but the electric one is not even a chainsaw, its a pruning saw i think they are called.
If yall are genuinely interested, project farm has a great comparison between a bunch of electric saws against a MS170
It helps if you know how to use a chainsaw and sharpen the chain
Maybe next time I’ll check the saws
Let’s use the most dull chain we can for the gas saw and then do the competition. Nice
I like how they didn’t go against a stihl
Let me have at it with a file and give the carb a little screwdriver action and try it again. Damn salesmen and their dirty tricks..
I can hear Dirk Braun laughing from heaven about this one 😂
-may he rest in peace -
I bought a 100 dollar gas saw from a department store and put a nice chain on and that thing cuts like it’s slicing hot butter.
Bro wasn’t even trying until the Milwaukee was almost through
The guy who runs the gas saw is specially trained not to win. "You win, you lose your job!"
battery fine for quick work medium logs, until your battery is dead. While you recharge for an hour the gas just keeps going all day long.
Hate when companies compare tools thinking the ppl who actually use them do not know what they’re up to.
Nobody gonna run from a battery powered chainsaw
Bro there's no battery on earth can beat the torque of inner ignition machine.
I like how the electric ones bucking spikes were used to apply pressure to the cut but the gas just let the Chester of the bar cut through
How blunt was that blade?
When I stuck in a bad zombie situation then battery doesnt work ultimately u need gasoline saw...just fill it and cut apart the zombies😂😂😂
Alright now that we got that over with T E E T E E
That's my little baby chainsaw!! 💗 LOVE it!! Can't pick up a full sized one.
Let alone the fact the electric chain saw was rocked cutting through less material more quickly versus the gas saw whose blade stayed perfectly level, cutting a maximum volume at one time
That petrol saw is the tiniest thing I have ever seen, the engine is smaller than homie's hand :D and it is running like a bag of hammers :D The complete lack of ANY smoke whatsoever makes it very clear that there is NO OIL in that saw, also when it stops (both times) it STOPS DEAD, like it is, at least partially, seized. I could keep going, like about how the RPM isn't even half of what it should be, and how no doubt the chain hasn't been sharpened since 1994 and was just rubbed in the dirt before this demonstration. But I think I have made my point :D
This is just American marketing in a nut shell
A Stihl would laugh at that battery
“Motorized butter knife versus battery operated saw” there I fixed it you’re welcome 😉
So were you cutting stone with the gas saw before hand 😂😂😂
Lol heaven forbid they get a decently running gas saw and sharpen the chain
All this test shows is how one tool is left in the shed more often than
He didn't even push on it that's why the battery chainsaw won
The step back to watch him finish 😮💨
If that chain was sharp it would cut through like butter.
I have never seen a fairer more scientific comparison in my life.
He really compared the two saws with a off brand piece of crap vs a new Milwaukee 😅
See the way the bar was hopping with the gas powered saw. Dull chain
that man just don’t know how to use a saw 😂
The only way this test can be relevant is that the chain is sharpened by the same person the exact same way
