People often forget to consider the weight of their plastic combined with the jig head weight. Just a quick example would be throwing a DSL super model with a 1/4 jig puts you roughly at a half oz.
Where you at in day 2??? I just moved up here from Port O’Connor area and looking for the best kayak spots. I like the back channels.

I'm trying to go with BFS, follow your tips, got varivas braid, but can you please recommend leader line? or a regular 20 pound is ok?
I use Varivas 12 pound fluorocarbon leader for most BFS applications.
What’s up RX angler…I’ve noticed you keep your kayaks in a storage unit. Is you’re unit climate controlled? I was thinking of putting my new old town big water in a detached garage, but wondered if the summer heat would be a problem. It can get up to 120° in my garage in the summer and since I currently live in an apartment I don’t have the option of cracking the door. Just don’t want the heat to deform or ward the hill. I’ll be storing it upside down on pads.

I am looking at getting a BFS reel. Right now it is hard to find a “BFS” reel. What do you suggest for a middle of the road Reel that will satisfy most BFS applications?
