      @@EdrianneMarDelin I have been investigating and I can affirm that lengthening an amount between 7cm-8cm on your four legs is the safest and proportional to your body, I am afraid that if you lengthen more than that amount it would be dangerous and it would look disymmetric-disproportionate, if you lengthen your legs less 7cm-8cm not worth it The perfect elongation would be 3 cm in tibias and 4 cm in femurs.

      @@lionheart5655 you see 3.2 inches isn't the limit so isn't 4 inches, 3.2 is the safe regime, the wealthier you are the better treatment and after surgery care you can afford, be it 2-3 inches increase or 8 inches increase, although the flexibility and your body composition does matter. I'm not someone who had this surgery but will definitely get it done someday, so I did a brief inquiry and this what I can conclude. Hope it helps.

    I'm not looking into limb lengthening but this video showed up when I searched for "long femurs". So thought I should share this. My problem is that my femurs are too long relative to rest of my bones(arms,torso, tibias), this causes huge problems for me, not just in my self image but physically. My whole body have to carry the load of unproportionate femur bones, I gotta bend my knees more to reach stuff from ground, which tightens my hamstring muscles, not only my thighs look long but also muscular due to all the bending. Feels like my hamstring muscles are too short for my overgrown femurs. I'm not even that tall, I'm 5ft9, I used to be 5ft6 ish before I was 18 until I had this weird late growth spurt in my femurs. I wish there was a way to solve this problem but there isn't, I have to learn to live with it

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому +3

      Ah yeah that's good 'ol genetics for ya. You're also right that muscle tension can be affected by limb length also. I would say there are ways to increase flexibility especially the posterior chain (hamstrings and glutes). Proportion-wise my best advice is to play the muscle game and add mass to various areas to give the illusion of a more proportionate physique. I do this for natural bodybuilding and although it may not be perfect it will help greatly. Wish you the best!

    Thank you so much for your honesty!
    Everyone else that I have heard from or seen on you tube only talks about how painful it is and how fast it is.
    Tired of dealing with back and hip pains I had my tibias worked on a few days shy of 2 weeks now and have so many question you have quashed.
    I also have a short leg (1.5 cm) but I also have bowed legs so I figured that if I was taking time off work I might as well take care of both problems.
    I was originally told by the doctor that it would only take about 4 months for me to get back on my feet so I went for it since I am 50 years old, can't take too much time off work, married, have 2 teen girls and 2 preteen boys at home, but now his associate who took over says 1 year.
    By the way I am currently living in T.J., cost was $18,000, but we will see in a few months if it was the right choice or not.

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому +2

      Hey Gabriel I bet you DID make the right choice in getting them done as even though you mentioned you were 50yrs old which some may say is when healing is slower. I seriously think that you should be back up on your feet come the 4-5month mark so long as your rehab and nutrition is up to par. I doubt it should take a full year unless some unexpected complication arises. $18k isn't too bad for a LLD surgery nice! I am gonna be working on revamping my rehab plan and if I finish it prior to you getting back up I'll let you know. Wishing you and your family the best during these times!

I’m also wanting to get into body building and fix this bad asymmetry of right femur 13mm and tibia 6 mm longer than the left side so I actually want to do both my femur and tibia on the left but I like that you mention proportions dope af. I also sorta have a hypothesis about asymmetry and proportions that could affect brain symmetry.

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому +2

      No way you got an imbalance too huh wow. Yeah so there seems to be a 5mm difference between the legs which might be enough for surgeon to proceed. That's an interesting hypothesis and could be onto something as a lot of balance via occipital lobe could affect things or at least create more stressful thinking

    • @AlexMartinez-vn8kh
      @AlexMartinez-vn8kh 4 роки тому

      Cyborg 4 Life yes I believe now 100% just by observing people that having a leg on one side longer could definitely affect ones whole way of being. Although it’s a thought I think that balance is everything because well that’s what keeps us going two hemispheres in the brain that are sort of opposites I guess could say one masculine (logic) and one feminine (emotion) could imo (hypothesis) be affected by leg length asymmetries and I think that body leg asymmetry, where the legs are like the roots of a tree are what puts the hue in all of us hue-mans lmao. I would love for one day to prove this by getting people to take xrays of the full Lower body and which hip is inclined higher to connect the dots and have a better understanding of body symmetry and brain dominance. A better understanding and different perspective to our nature and way of being.

      Gotcha, so if someone gets the tibias done, rehabs, heals and then femurs usually a year later for max height you'd be looking at 18-21months from first surgery to be in pre-surgery condition considering you rehabbed and rebuilt properly

    Hi Victor... I have reached 4 cm now with extending the Femur and Tibia bones at the same time. At this stage i have recognized that my Tibia needs some more time to just with the muscles and soft tissues compared to Femur.
    So i have decided to continue the extension on the Femur but stop it for a couple of days on my tibia bones.
    Another big issue is that i can't really sleep and do heavy exercises even if i really want it. I mean the gia is still there 12/13 cm but at straight beginning i recognized that this journey will be more tough then i have imagined. And i was absolutely not optimistic with the pain and so on...
    Having done the extension on 4 bones and 6 broken bones makes it really difficult to do the proper exercises and walk a bit. I had my first surgery on the 12th on my Femur and the second surgery on the 16th on my Tibia.
    Even after 3 Weeks it's really hard to walk from one room to another. My concern now is the lack of sleep. Since weeks i am not able to sleep for longer than 2/3 hours cause i have the feeling that i need to move my legs due to pain and uncomfortable feeling.

    I had a question, I’m 20 years and I’m 5’8”(173-174 cm), can I lengthen my femur 2.5 cm(1inch) and then lengthen my tibia 2.5 cm to get to 5’10”? Is 5 cm in total possible? Is the age of 25 good enough to consider this surgery?

      It's possible but not wise. I would say to do 5cm in one segment and be done with it. If you do this for proportions you could potentially impact your recovery or at least the time to recovery. I would say just one segment unless a significant amount of length

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому +7

      Sure so I think quite the contrary that it may decrease in price if more surgeons start doing it and more technology comes out. The newest tech and most experienced surgeons will cost top dollar but the older tech and less experienced surgeons will charge less. Market demand essentially. Safer...yes- more people are learning a standard procedure.

    Hi, I recently found your channel while looking into LL, wandered off from looking at corrective surgery for knock knees. It's been very informative.
    A hypothetical question (for now): I'm around 167 cm tall and would ideally want to reach 175 cm. Would I need to decide from the start if I want both tibia and femur lengthened or could I see if I'm happy after the first surgery?
    For practicality, I'd rather do 1 procedure but for aesthetics I don't know if I'd be happy with it. I'm guesstimating that my femurs are short (the best I could measure myself, tibia are 37 or 38 cm, femurs are 42 cm), but I don't want to look too disproportionate.

    Great video brother, how long does it take normally for a femur lengthening to heal ?

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому

      Well a typical 5cm femur lengthening takes roughly 2 months to lengthen and about another 6 weeks to heal. So from surgery day you're probably looking at 3 to maybe 4 months max.
      Whereas 5cm on a tibia will take near 3 months to lengthen and 2 to maybe 3 months to heal so 5 months maybe 6 for slow healers.
      Thus femurs are faster but of course all of this depends on how fast the patient heals

Also, I'm 17 (almost 18) at the moment and plan on saving $90,000 over the course of 3 years to undergo this procedure. If I did stockpile about $90,000, could I conceivably get a loan for the rest of the total cost or are there financing options; For insatnce, a fixed monthly payment I could make instead of paying in full up front? Keep in mind that I've yet to establish credit, but I plan to establish a fair amount of credit over the years that I'll be putting away money. Also, safety and price wise, is there a certain surgeon or surgeons you recommend to have the procedure done with? Thank you very much for all the info by the way! I'm very set on having this procedure done.

At that price point of 90k + loan you'd be able to select from the most experienced surgeons for an excellent turnout! Now 7 inches is quite a bit in just 2 lengthenings it may require than that. But I'd say you could get near 3inches on the first go and then a year or two later you could have saved up and go for more length. It is difficult to say without knowing all factors but more than one surgery would be required

    Hey enjoy the content in the videos! I’m just curious did you have both legs done and ik you touched on this on other ideas but as far as going to 6 inches of extra height of and bodybuilding go, what’s your perspective on that? As in, with that extra height would exercising be more difficult?

    • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому

      Hey thanks for the support of the content. No I just had one leg done for surgery-tibia. So 6 inches of height or 6cm? I know for a fact that 6 inches would be extreme for even regaining a normal jog let alone working out. 5inches over 2 surgeries is a push but more reasonable. Now 6cm of height say in the femurs, that would ensure you could make a near full recovery at sports and resume bodybuilding perfectly well. I had nearly 4cm done on the tibia and the knee pain faded almost completely after 2-2.5 years. I regained my ROM by 1.5yrs and was say "perfect" by 3 years. This would be nearly equivalent to 6cm on the femur and thus you should have no issue exercising with that amount of height gain. The equilibrium and center of gravity adaptation for cosmetic limb lengthening patients takes about 6months if you are dedicated to therapy and a rebuilding program like (the one me and a LL doctor will be developing later this year- shameless plug lol). But yeah man, you'll be fine IF you meant 6cm, if 6inches I can't comment as that's well out of range for prediction. Hope this helps

See I was thinking 6 inches actually but if it’s going to compromise my ability to continue in my athletics significantly beyond the recovery period then I’d rather not risk it. • @Cyborg4Life
      @Cyborg4Life  4 роки тому +1

      When you say thigh do you mean tibia? If so you won't want to go over 3-5cm to ensure a full recovery but it will also fix your proportion. You probably should wait until you're done growing at like early twenties or confirm with surgeon first as that will ensure your growth plates have fused closed and it would make more sense

    • @krakklover

I am super flexible as well being able to touch the ground with my knuckles when bending over I would like to know how much height I could add and if I would have to lose mass to make sure my excess upper body would make the pressure of my legs look werid also I think I have big calves for someone who is 5,7.

      You are super flexible great! You would still get tight if you lengthen more than 5-6cm but I can say you will recover faster than most because of the shape you're in. For someone who is an athlete like you I would say being around 5-6cm to avoid having a hard uphill battle to recovery and that means you would be closer to 5'9 or so.
