One thing that always intrigued me about Pertwee’s first sequence, is the fact that the howl arounds at one point seemed to form the contours of Darth Vader’s helmet (seen at 9:42), seven years before “Star Wars” premiered.
7:59 I have noticed this, and my guess is that some mirror-reversed frames briefly crept in at some point, distorting the letters. Even the D and R in "Doctor" briefly seem distorted, to the extent that it fleetingly looks like "NOCTOZ OHO". Excellent choices, by the way. The Capaldi sequence gets some flak for various (IMHO nit-picky) reasons but I think it's superb, and I do like the Whittaker titles a lot.
Nice to see someone else giving the Capaldi titles credit. Also, finally someone who also notices that weird thing in the Hartnell titles. I looked back and yeh I kinda do see "NOCTOZ OHO"
The First Doctor sequence, with the logo, I think you'll find that with the whole sequence being mirrored until the logo appears, it looks weird just because they've mirrored the logo until it takes proper shape. Similar to the Patrick Troughton one with it's logo, though the mirroring forms part of the effect.
honestly, as an american... my favorite title sequence is a tie between tom baker's slit-scan tunnel, jon pertwee's first howlaround intro, paul mcgann's movie intro, and christopher and david's intros
I agree with most of your picks, but I would've placed Chibnall's title sequence way lower. I think it's a mess. It'd be fine for a tribute to the classics, but for an entire series? Nah, I'd rather not. Also, series 5/6 deserve to be way higher in my opinion. Definitely in the top 5. But overall, great video with great editing.
Interesting list! I have exactly the same thoughts on the Capaldi and Whittaker titles, only Capaldi's rank way higher than Whittaker for me. I swear to God, sitting down for dinner the night The Woman Who Fell to Earth aired on iView (Aussie iPlayer), pressing play on that episode -- must have been a Monday night -- I was not prepared for it. I'll be honest, I was much younger then and I was coming out of the Capaldi hype, but I absolutely adored (most) of S11 at the time. The debut was a little weak, but the intro made my jaw drop, and I still feel those tidbits of recent nostalgia whenever the titles roll. Love them in an odd sort of way. But yes... S11 itself was definitely better in the moment...
I never noticed the screw up with the doctor who logo from the 60’s great find! Imagine Doctor oho. 🤣
Yeh I’ve weirdly always noticed it and found it odd no one mentions it

@@theboredwhovian I think Noctoz Oho deserves his own spin-off. I'd watch it ;)
@@ftumschk He's probably a pre-Hartnell doctor
Chibnall era's title sequence is really good including the theme music, that is the one and only complement I have for his era lol
Yeh, bit of a shame cos it really is perfect. Same can’t be said for the writing
New sub you deserve more! And I love this type of video hope there’s more!
Cheers for the Sub. Hoping to do more stuff similar to this as its the kinda content I've always enjoyed to watch.
@@theboredwhovian I look forward to it!

All really good options. It was hard to rank them
the OHO thing is cause the feedback was mirrored horizontally 😉

Cheers. Opinions are opinions I guess. Thanks on the editing comment. This was the first video I remember spending a lot of time making 😂
Honestly the new title sequence makes me kinda sad because anything other than the series 11 one feels like a downgrade

Its so weird hearing someone have nostalgia for Series 11. I’m feeling so old now 😫😂
@@theboredwhovian Thing is, I'm not that young haha. It's just the memories.
