The sad part of the new generation dreaming that Philippines was a grandeur in time of Marcos Sr. were coming from the thoughts of the infrastructures that were made during that time. They based their ideas in buildings being made at that time.

The reason why some find this disrespectful or one sided is because we were not used to hearing these stories. We often hear the progress part but we rarely hear these. I remember asking my parents who are pro marcoses kung ano yung root bakit sinasabi nilang maganda ang buhay noon the common answer is “basta”. They also voted for Pres. BBM netong election.
Isa pa diyan is we often discredit the families of people who lost relatives during ML saying “matitigas kasi ang ulo” but that’s not the way to the truth if we want the truth. I also read some comments here na puro paninira lang daw well tbh in our country mas nangingibabaw pa rin yung stories na “magaganda” prime example is the marcoses are still in power and still wealthy.
As I grow up and also had the opportunity to own a business I often wonder sa mga napatayo nilang infrastructures kung saan nila nakuha ang “puhunan” and no doubt in my mind sa pagkakasunud sunod na pagpapatayo nila for sure utang ito. Ok lang mangutang kaso sana nabayaran kasi dadalhin yan next administration domino effect kung baga. Bihira lang naman ang effect na mararamdaman mo right after the cause, it takes time.
And for those who are wondering hindi po ako maka Cory. I’m just here trying to listen to these people who studied and dedicated their life to present us statistics, numbers and facts. As an Economics grad I appreciate this.

Negative. Philippine media during Cory admin was free to express themselves thats why we have footage of Mendiola Massacre and other problems during presidency. The reason why they discuss these busted myths is because the media was not available at that time due to the control of Marcos admin to filter what they want to show even if the economy is falling.

I'm a fan of the History with Lourd and it was also around at this time from 2015-2017 when Tallano gold stories started to pop up and gone viral in the social media. As a fan of History, I am curious on why the story of Tallano was not featured on this show and I remembered researching on library and the internet about this story and also messaging News5 to make a story about it. After 9 years and now the Tallano was exposed as hoax propagated by online trolls, I reflect on the impact of Tallano story and how it actually gained root in the people's consciousness in spite of shows like this.
Back at the time when this show aired, traditional media enjoyed its status as a credible authority and social media was a personal space that is totally separated from the latter. This is why stories like martial law myths and Tallano gold got much the virality it needs. It is also the reason why people tend to believe stories like those, the more people sharing the post, the more it became credible. Also, fact checking is not really a thing in the social media during 2015 which is why these kind of stories gained foothold.
If only I knew about Tallano and had a chance to go back in time, I might use the social media to debunk those kind of propaganda.

This feels like its made to dis marcos. I get that back then many lives were lost and things that became problems to this day but why does this episode feels one sided. This is the problem with the text books that students get about marcos it all pointed that he is evil but why was he loved by the people? When in contrast to what the books said that points that he is bad of course it will create a inner conflict. That is why neutrality is very important, to show that the things you are reading is not fabricated or just plainly biased to one side. I get that martial law is bad in at that time. But kids don't even know why martial law was enacted in the first place now we have a generation that is terrified of martial law ever being declared again just like what happened in duterte's term. Martial law in itself is not evil or a a bad thing it has its purpose in times of need not just to make it so that the military could do whatever the f they want. We need a neutral text books that shows the good and the bad sides of marcos, martial law, and other regimes. Students are not stupid enough for you to point who is evil, bad, or good guy they have thier brains, morals, and can decide for themselves what is good or bad. Otherwise students will think that they are just reading propaganda from cory.

The good things that happened in the Martial Law Era had 50x negative impacts happening to the rest of the population during that time. While the Marcos and its crony is building theatres, the Coco farmers were asked with contribution for the so called Coco Levi Fund. While the Marcos family and cronies are throwing enormous and extravagant parties, they are also killing poor farmers, torturing families, raping women just because they were accused of being rebels without proof or any fair trail. It is true that things were cheaper compared now but that is because we have much resources then compared to the population. If the lives of the people then, even the government employees were of great standards, there should have not been corruption taking place even in the local government unit. If lives were great then, there shouldn't have been slums in the cities then or reports of malnutrition. If the lives were great then, why are there still people against the glorification of the Marcosian Era? The fact that there are still people who are alive and have expressed that they were affected negatively, one way or the other ,by this regime means that there is no true prosperity during that time. Use your brains and mouth to promulgate the truth, not use it to enable evil.
