What's happened to including tape from the games? It makes for a far more engaging watch - particularly when JP and Bryn get to talking about structures/lines etc, would be really nice to have a visual.
I hope Viljoen will get more chance as 9/21 for Canes while Roigard is recovering. He has been a revelation for our first few games as starting 9 with that De Klerk vibe he had. With enough games in his belt, he has every chances as the other 9 to fight for that third AB spot.
Just a personal thought from a non pro.
Must be two Christie's playing cause the one I've been watching is having a Sub par season so far ?
Agree 1000%. TJ is now first choice. Similar game to Roigard and his backing up is something else.
I agree
Im english and ive always watched SR and followed SH rugby, for the first time ever i genuinely have no idea what the NZ team England will face is. Cant wait for the series though!
my fav rugby show but jeez guys 50% of the show about crusaders.
Personally prefer when you guys talk about each of the games/ key positions with the support of the stats and visuals to support what your saying, rather than viewer questions.
Regardless, enjoy the show well done
Yes, and almost like the Canes don't exist. Love the work of Aumua, Jose, Laki, Walker Liawhere , Lomax, (sorry if the spellings a bit out), Cameron, Moorby, Proctor, Naholo and particularly Reuben Love
Bell stripping that first five was incredible to watch.
Fakatava is definitely next cab off the ranks
No way TJ for experience then it's Finlay for more caps as a newbie then Noah Hothman or Cortez Ratima are way better options
Fakatava still a defensive liability- leaks too many tackles, especially near the line
No way. Have you seen TJ? He is playing out of his skin. He is such a good support player as well and a great leader. Whatever he did during his rehab he has come back better than ever and thats saying something. I'm not sure about Fakataua user pressure i international. Also suspect he is a bit of a loose canon ( the Hawkes Bay Ranfury Shield incident)
@@larrytasker7043 our first game is against England we need experience to start or come off the bench at half time so he has time to see how England are playing on the day Scott first game you want us to win it don't you you just can't buy experience not like TJ has been under the skin of Aaron for most of his career he knows how to get the job done look at the hurricanes score when can had ab rest TJ still smoked them
Perenara and Christie are both ahead of him.
To answer the title, TJ is your man no doubt
TJ wasn't the answer when he was 10 years younger. Ptf NZ Rugby is plucked
@@itistrue101 Was better than hands in the air Smith for his entire career.
God save me from Limp Christie being the incumbent. Small low workrate halfback is never the intentional answer.
@@axxey TJ spent more time practicing the haka than passing, couldn't hit the side of a barn door from a metre out. His only value was to prolong Smith's career
Great show boys. Favourite NZL rugby show so far 😊👏
2:52 Someone please teach Bryn Hall the difference between calvary and cavalry.
Cavalry is 'a regiment of horseback soldiers who enter the fray at a crucial and strategic point in a battle'; Calvary is 'the hill on which Jesus Christ was crucified'.
Bryn keeps saying 'calvary'.
'Calvary is the hill on which Jesus Christ was crucified'. - According to the book of 'someone said so'.
@@Marius_vanderLubbe That's besides the point my South African friend - I'm not trying to push the Christian narrative; just simply pointing out bad grammar 🙂
@@rogue_luko A butcher has pork chops in his window to push the narrative, rogue - he doesn't do it because it is Easter holidays.
@@Marius_vanderLubbe Excuse my ignorance Marius but I don't quite understand your pork/Easter analogy?
@@rogue_luko No need for me to excuse your ignorance, rogue - I'm equally perplexed as to your Christ crucified assertion.
You guys discuss the finer points of the game while sir frog chorus and goldie talk about themselves. This is a much better show.
@@lelandcarpenter8181 please enlighten us with your deep knowledge on NZR and their cronies
Mate you comment the most on the breakdown youtube videos, if you dont like their content stop watching, its as easy as that
@@timmado8441 Oh not a fan of free speech, mate?
What they say on the breakdown is free speech yet you are complaining. You must not like free speech either
@@timmado8441 Idiot.
Fakatava, Ratima and Old man TJ will be the rotation moving forward
Ratima for a ABs halfback is looking good.
Strong runner like roigard be missed. Just sux defence in, so bit more room wide. Hope he mends up well thanx
Cortez ratima has gotta be the best option, christie is a club player at best im sorry to say
Folau Fakatava is a hybrid of Aaron Smith and TJ Perenara and still developing he's all round skills like kicking and timing...but his sniping around the fringes, contesting for ball as a jacker and his defence puts him ahead of Christie.Bearing in mind that against the more physical sides you need an abrasive yet a skillfull halfback.Fakatave fits the bill for me
Think tjs come back well. Just needs to keep doin an no pressure yet.
Show clips guys . Easier to see what you mean.
Cortez Ratima should be the 1st choice but it'll probably end up like
Christie
Fakatava/Ratima
Ratima/Hotham
TJ would be a part of the greater training squad but probably won't win a job unless playing a minow nation like Australia
Great show. Is jipper afraid of the studio?
All blacks need an attacking halfback like Roigard. With Smith the defence knew where the ball was going thats one of the reasons the rush defense was so succesfull against ABs. Aaron had a great pass but rarely sniped to put doubt in defenses.
TJP does that. 60 tries from a 9 speaks volumes on that front. He's such a heads-up player with a lot of guile and exp. He may not have the pass that AS had, but he's top drawer on attack AND defense. He's got leadership cred as well. The only thing against him is age and coming off of injury. Before that, he was playing out of his skin. I think he would mesh well with DMAC's unorthodox style too, because he (and the 'Canes) play well off unstructured/unorthodox moments. His defense and deceptive strength would also be an asset in those moments when DMAC is caught out. Like having another loose forward out there.
I remember TJ got runned down by a springbok foward when he was younger. His lack of speed is a cocern for me and Roigard got plenty of that which come in handy with cover defense and he could be an option on the wing
@@cruzerblack8789.
@@tuttyusbuttyus he has to run... his passing is mud
Are we going to talk about the tip tackle before the crusaders score and get a penalty on half way
Fin Christie is reliable player with a low error rate.He is not X factor player.
But he has test match experience.Perenara has test level experience too.
Cortez Ratima is outstanding young halfback. He should be number three.
Christie gets a bad wrap but just watch how much work defensively he does. Also very few mistakes.
He certainly doesnt have the ex factor of roigard but hes no mug.
This show should be called the Crusaders rugby pass. If crusaders were in hurricanes spot. It will be all glory crusaders. Talk more on the Canes
Yep canes deserve much more respect
For sure. But also for a 52 minute pod, where almost every week they talk for almost 40 minutes just around the Crusaders. Gets a bit boring. Otherwise enjoy the show
too much Crusaders every week - same as Breakdown - the Canes on a streak and not even mentioned - really annoying
Wow. If the Crusaders pattern is really what Razor is going to run in the All Blacks around the spine, that raises some really interesting questions. Firstly, which player best matches the Mo’unga profile? For all round option taking that seems more Barrett than DMac, perhaps? Second, a Crusaders heavy ABs and Mo’unga at pivot hasn’t consistently been the match of either Ireland or South Africa when the pressure has gone on, so why would that be different with the current available players?
To be honest I don’t think D Mac was ever the answer regardless who was coach!
I remember when Mitchell and Deans were ABs coaches and one ABs team was all Crusaders and didn't end well. Mind you those two were a couple of nasty. Razor is much smarter than that
Anyone except Christie. Journeyman at best who's been average at test level.
Moana should play in Pukekohe that would be a perfect home ! would get a decent crowd and counties/manukau deserves its own super team with a population bigger than any other area other than the blues in NZ
Yes guys 4 points one winner. No bonus points for being close.
Cortez Ratima is outstanding young halfback.
This guy reminds me of Aaron Smith. This guy needs some game time at test match level.
I am not saying he a starter straight away.Put him on the bench.
Roigard is a huge loss to the All Blacks. There may actually be a case for bringing smith back. The idea of losing a test series to the english is unthinkable.
Should be right got the two chief halfback and Fakatava
Cortez FTW
The pom,s will batter ye.😂😂😂 do ye think yer actually going to win.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@michaelmoynihan9591 Didn't they struggle past Italy and Wales?? Lmao! And beat by Scotland 😂😂😂
Perenara is making a solid case for himself to force his way back into the ABs. And with Roigard out, TJ will be starting for the Hurricanes, and if he continues to play as well starting, then he should be given a chance.
The Pasifika Rebels will be based in Melbourne next year.
I used to think this was the best analysis show but in 52 mins it was all saders - no mention of the Canes/Blues/Landers/Chiefs at all - who cares about useless Goodhue and Havilli and promoting a halfback as a potential AB on 1 game? Cmon bros spread the love. Really getting annoyed.
Right on 100%.
JP is normally bang on but the chiefs were really poor esp Roe. They were also significantly under strength w/o Finau, Vaai and Mckenzie who are all potential starters for the all blacks.
TJ is the MAN of course
8:02
I don't like golden point. I like a draw because that's what it is. An 80 minute game, and it's a draw, it's a draw.
Hurricanes Vs FijianDrua SemiFinal 2024!
The topic should be about our locks
Struggling to watch Super Rugby and Switched to NRL. Too many one sided games. Is a Salary Cap and more player movement needed? Moana Pacific and the Highlanders could do with a few top All Blacks.
I feel the reason NZ rugby is sunk so low is because 80% of the people sitting in the NZ rugby boards cannot have discussions like these because they don't really watch rugby themselves.
T j for me
Bryn, thats horrible advice, Christie and TJ as our best 2 9s
Yes TJ definitely number 1 now. Playing better than ever
@@larrytasker7043 have you ever seen him play against top tier international teams?
Roigard maybe injured He is by far 'De Game Breaker' Many people goes to matches just to see
The chiefs losing streak in 2020 was an interesting comparison. If you looked at the chiefs losing streak i think they had 6? bonus point losses or something and got screwed by the ref a bunch as well. The crusaders stomped them that year but i think nothing else from memory.
The crusaders have looked comprehensively the worst team in every loss in their streak this year. Chiefs played quite rubbish for the crusaders to break it.
They all witter on about how the 10 needs to get the ball fast, yet still promote FC?
Crusader Pod
Aaron Smith's successor out for 6 Months 😫
what do you guys think, that npc wont get full tv coverage? i think its rly bad for the game. however moving these games to smaller stadiums is much better
How on earth does Christie feature at all? That Dunedin game was surely indication enough hes no good. Ratimas combination with DMac is vital.
Peranera Fakatava
Sounds bad but drumond off the bench for me. Just seemed to light em up abit'
Noah next best thing. Watch this space
Noah who.
@@larrytasker7043 Hotham. Just wait
Christie is terrible maybe worse than Tate McDermott... similarly hopeless.
What rugby are these guys watching. Finley and Dallas McCloud ain't playing well and haven't done shxt🤦 Finley is so readable and Dallas is small and getting smashed🤦💯
Getting sick of the obsession with the crusaders /Razors moved on !
all blacks are in a world of trouble ,wont win a thing this year, its finally caught up with them ,no whitelock 😢
We will lose with TJ at the helm no more washed 9s at ABs level
Richard Judd.
Looks like it is said now❓
