Scott … this is exactly what I would want to see! I’m 74 yrs old and crippled and since I was a child have loved airplanes. A friend of our family had a WACO UPF-7 but I never got to ride in it before it was sold. I never got to OSHKOSH either, but I feel I’ve been there because of your video. Thank You Sir!
Hi Scott! Greetings from a fellow pilot, aircraft owner, and Texan. I currently own a P28S (Turbo Arrow III), based at 1T7 (Kestrel Airpark). I have been to OSH three times (2013, 2015, and in 2020) and I loved it. I hope to return in a couple of years since it never gets old for me.
I liked this format, Scott. It was more like being there and wandering around than the average Oshkosh replay. You picked some great, out of the ordinary, birds to focus on. I mean...we all love Mustangs but I have never experienced a water landing in an Albatross and that Helldiver was spectacular. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely loved the ride in the Albatros, those young men are a great team and obviously great pilots! I've never flown in a seaplane but that was a fantastic ride, thank you! The entire video was great, had to miss this year.
Scott, Having been to OSH and flying in about 17 times, I was there all through the 90s and up to 2006 and again in 2023. You have the best overall video yet. I love the Albatross footage especially the engine start with the co-pilot counting blades. I remember counting blades in the CV440 and DC-7F i got a few hours in. Your photography of the Albatross (water) takeoffs were the best. Thank you so much, big radios make the best music, but V-12's ain't bad.
Thanks for giving us a taste of the event. Not a pilot or plane owner, but I like most anything mechanical. The wife and I used to do two week trips on a Goldwing motorcycle, one year we put OshKosh on our agenda. When we arrived we inquired about tickets to get in and walk around and look at and take pictures of the planes, that’s when we discovered that you have to be a member of the EAA in order to get in. Membership and tickets for the two of us was going to be something like $150, we passed, so this is the next best thing.
Went there Wednesday. I've been there every year since 1970, except for last year. I was even there in 2020, just to say I was on the field. Nothing sounds better than radial and V-12 engines.
I really enjoyed the video. I was there, but missed a few of the items that you covered. I pretty much spent most of my time in the areas that you showed and this video filled in many of the blanks I had. Thank you so much.
The Corsair and P51 that were letting people get in belongs to the Mid-America Flight Museum in Mount Pleasant, TX. When I talked to Scott on Thursday he said that over 2000 people had sat in the P51 so far that week. Scott Glover and his staff are good people and truly care about these WWII and older aircraft. Airplanes and Coffee will be at the museum in November.
Hey Scott. Loved this production, notably your studio voice narrative over clean event-audio on those many interesting plane filmings. Love my dad’s steed, the horsey one. My brother (older by 3 yrs) and me were there he said, when dad did ‘batics over our summer lake. I have never remembered, was probably 2. .. Dad was playing then, like when he beat up a nearby lake with an Orenda version Sabre. Heard from by my first summer job supervisor there, older enough than me. Service in the 40’s with Ferry Command, north and south Atlantic routes in Mitchells, later CW France and England in 86’s. I’ve long given him slack for parenting lapses, along with my Army nurse mom, due to (my-take) PTSDs stuff. But they were great parents, did us kids well.
I was there for Friday and Saturday. The restored warbirds, such as the SB2C and the XP-51, always get my attention. As a former avionics guy, the radar displayed on the ground by the SB2C was a fun detail. Going out to the north end and watching aircraft come and go is fun too. You never know what you'll see!
We have been Beau fans for a long time. I do miss him however Belle is delightful! I love her easy going presentation, and having no whiskers is just fine! We love you both! Just a thought….
Awesome video! I was able to attend last year walked around a lot, but hung out in the “Tikki tower“ near the T6s. Good friend of mine has been a Oshkosh controller for many years. It was awesome to hang out up there. Some of the airplanes this year were just beyond belief! Hopefully next year for me. Thank you again for all of the effort.
As like everybody else, thank you Scott! Very interesting video and commentary. Unfortunately, that big corsair hose nose, with the checkerboard engine, cowl and rudder, is the big model that I am working on. For me personally I would’ve liked to see a little more video on that one. Thanks again for the superb video.😊❤
@ 11:47 you have Spitfire built by Supermarine, Hurricane built by Hawker Aircraft and Tiger Moth built by De Haviland (DH-82). Tiger Moth was the RAF basic trainer before pilots went on to bigger and better.
The Mid America Flight Museum that's about 60 miles west of me in Mt. Pleasant, Texas has an HU-16 Albatross along with many other great planes. It's an amazing place to visit..
Great video. Albatross fight was worth it in itself. 👍 How did you know I was going to ask if those were electric props ? I’m betting they were a PITA for maintenance in a salt water environment 😮
Did you hear that they (Chalk) crashed their seaplane many years ago. Wing fell off from bad maintenance and corrosion while they were climbing out killing all onboard. (I know it was a Chalk Airlines Seaplane not sure what model, Think it happened in late 90's early 00's )
Scott, I wish you could have seen the early years of EAA, Before it went so commercialised! My first Fly in was 1960. My last year was 1979. If you want to see real grass roots aviation go the AAA flying at Blakesburg Iowa. Much nicer gathering! Thanks for the videos!
Ive only been to Oshkosh two years 85 and 89 and I really didn't think about it until you just said something, but I don't believe there were a lot of women or kids present during either year.
I would like to see a video on the controls of the Albatross. They know right where everything was almost without looking, so it was so fast I couldn’t figure out what some of the levels were for. There are a lot more then a Cessna or Piper’s that I have flown. So day
Thanks Scott. Yes the Albatross is a fun airplane. I got to fly one for a bit in West Palm Beach in the 90’s. My friend asked me what I thought of the flight when I got down. I told him I loved the plane. It was heavy like the DC3. No he said, however did you like flying with Jimmy Buffett? I had no idea it was him.
@@FlyWirescottperdue Hi Scott, I guess I didn’t make it clear. I flew in one at West Palm Beach. I didn’t know I was flying with Jimmy Buffett until my friend told me after the flight. He just introduced himself as Jim, and I was so excited to fly in an Albatross that I didn’t put it together.
I guess you realize by now your voiceover was basically unintelligible. In the future I would suggest muting the video sound if you have something to say briefly, otherwise just let the engines do your talking. Stay away from giving history lessons when engines are rumbling by. That's what we want to hear. Thanks for sharing Scott. We all appreciate the hard work you have put into these videos. I gotta tell ya, that ride in the twin seaplane you made was awesome. I kept waiting for full power on T/O and I was not disappointed. Chills up my neck. Nothing like round sound up close. Awesome. I noticed that Dan and his drama was missing from the video lol.

Next year in Oshkosh!
Fabulous Scott! Hit all the right notes...especially the Albatross flight! 😊
Hi Scott. You could have done a 2 hour video, and I would have watched it. Thanks for all your efforts.
And thank you ever so much for taking us along.

Scott "radios" was supposed to be "radials." I hate the self correcting. makes AI kind of scary.
Scott it was a good video!
Great Stuff and a great video! Length was just right, but I would watch 5 more... Thankyou!

Thank You for sharing. I guess I have gone to OSH for the last ime.
What great friends and memories I have.

Aviation is truly amazing....to think that these beautiful Warbirds were built just 40 years after the first flight. Thanks for this video Scott.
Thank you very much for putting together and posting this excellent video! My critical comment is: it wasn't nearly long enough. Thank you!
Great job!! Enjoyable.
OMG Scott. Thank you so much. A beautiful video. So well done.
18:02 I'm stopping this video right now.
Gonna come back later during an afternoon break and watch on the big screen with the speakers!
Wow! That 180 is the sexiest bird there. Very nice! I want more pictures of it!!

It's a good mashup! A lot of beautiful work to be seen, and heard. Thanks for the look around., this video wasn't too long for me. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video Gunny!! Cheers!

I ended up in the background of that P47 startup clip haha

Our 1st time at OSH!!!
I’ll be there next year.

Flaps were sticky
What ??? Gunny had something nice to say about high wing aircraft ...... no way .... ;-)
