  • Building a bridge across a stream. In this video I build a placement wooden bridge across a stream. The bridge is built completely from wood and an easy DIY project for you to follow along. If you want to make a bridge over a stream, brooke or pond, or maybe one in your garden as a feature? This is one of the best value for money builds I've ever done. It's surprising how easy it is to build your own bridge and what you get in return looks absolutely amazing.

Going by what your saying that was a while ago, as far as I know they put grooves on both sides now

Fun fact I recently learned myself: apparently most of us are fitting decking boards upside down. The grooves are designed to go on the bottom of the board to increase air circulation.
It looks so obvious to put the grooves on top; perhaps because of extra traction. Although they were fitted this way on our deck when I was growing up, and it got incredibly slippery during winter time. So I wouldn't be surprised at all if the grooves actually turned out to reduce traction, rather than increase it 😅 (more water pooling on top of the boards and reduced surface area).

That's a good point. The boards I used have grooves on both sides.

@@Builtbypete Ah! I hadn't spotted that minor detail.
