The way he asked the accompanist for the second pianist to remain seated (and enjoy her deserved limelight) when she wanted to move away for him immediately after the piece was over, and how he later politely asked “May I use your piano?” when he needed to demonstrate technique, was genuinely humble and exquisitely classy. 👏🏻❤
A very humble person. It is music to the ears whenever he plays. what a legend !. Always a pleasure to listen to Lang lang, the one and only talented pianist that can play flawlessly and full of energy every time he is on stage. Thank you for mentoring and inspiring our young generations. Will love to see you live one day. Kerp up the great work. Thank you. Blessed.
This master class made me deeply happy. Not only were the students amazingly well prepared and ready to play any part but the Lang lang’s guidance spoke to me even though I am not a pianist. I could fully appreciate the nuances. I think I will listen to many more similar recordings.
Can't believe I'll be the first to comment this amazing video. As a piano student myself, it brought me great joy to watch. Beautiful display of mastery + generosity and talent + ingenuity. Thank you very much for bringing it to us. Cheers from Brazil!
What a brilliant captivating insight into the Masterclass by the one & only Lang Lang . His skill in translating the emotional and feeling of his knowledge to the students, beyond belief
wow, what a treat this is to have available online. i was having the same feeling in the start with catherine's playing, a very nice tempo but a little more dynamics a little softer but wow he sees (hears) absolutely everything and what a difference it makes in her playing when she takes those notes and she starts feeling the piece more.
I love the second pianist Thomas Luke. I love his interpretations in the piece he played. Of course he can adopt the suggestions from Lang Lang because of Lang Lang's experience. I believe he will definitely do well. Honestly I was inspired by his playing. A great future for this young man.
Awesome! LL's ability to extract the themes, colors, gait, and story from the piece gives him the ability to see beyond mechanics. The infusion of one's lived experience is at the core of music, through pitch, drag, pause etc. A good musician pays attention to the senses beyond the immediately audible. Despite music being often interpreted in such a form, many "hear" color and temperature. And he is one such person.
That was a genuine treat and so informative and interesting. The students were wonderful and will benefit greatly from the insights gleaned in this special class.
The level of change in the guy in the blue shirt was nothing short of incredible. You could tell by Lang Lang's whole demeanor that he really enjoys getting ahold of someone so quickly teachable. It went from technically very adept to that, but with very high expression musician ship and showmanship, in a very short time. I also really enjoyed that students joy in learning and growing, so evident in his face all t;he way through. That young man could flat out go somewhere. Loads of student talent on that stage, not remotely just him, either. Some not nearly as open and quick to implement, though. Initially I got that impression from the last student, but then she got very receptive and things started to really happen. Some time needed for the student teacher dynamic to develop.

Wow would not have expected Lang Lang to be such a great, fun and inspirational teacher! Thank you RCM for another priceless masterclass.
He has always been a great teacher. I watched practically all of his masterclasses on UA-cam.
The second guy was brilliant, he played by himself at master level, and then achieved everything as Lang told him
Thomas Luke and Jeneba Kanneh-Mason have such a bright future. They did so amazing, It's truly fascinating to watch these master classes.
I'M JUST SPEECHLESS seeing Lang Lang in this Masterclass!! Wonderful!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Even without any music background, I learned so much about these pieces from the true master Lang Lang!!!
Amazing. Lang Lang really plays beyond words AND can convey his messages to students beautifully.
He is brilliant as a player, brilliant as an instructor.
Just delightful seeing and hearing this amazing men the way he "translates" the music into feelings and actions.

All of these students have a great future. They were fantastic.

The God Of Piano In This Century
The organ in the background is something to behold, it is majestic, the sound must be superb!

What an absolute delight! 🪷
Why is it when Lang Lang plays it, it's more "musical" - something magical about his keyboard touch.
That was a genuine treat and so informative and interesting. The students were wonderful and will benefit greatly from the insights gleaned in this special class.
This is the world of music...
a panorama of perception and discoveries through musical notes
BRAVO!!!! 👏🏻❤
I see very few masterclasses where they just jump right into the details like this, no fluff, no grandstanding. Much prefer this style.
What an amazing interpreter of classical music. So inspirational...
I had to come back for the second kid. He needs to record this, his interpretation is spot on and so good.
So subtly done, yet powerful tonality! Amazing.
Great teacher, great students!
Top piano teacher 🎉
Janeba , ❤your playing ! Lang Lang , love your instruction on Romeo and Juliet , would love to hear you play it ❤

Oh my goodness! This is too good guys!
What about using the sustain pedal with una corda? I tend to do this in some similar pieces.
What a great masterclass! Love your piano playing. Keep it up nice masterclass.
40:45 i love how pianists always try to explain certain things with theyre gestures and all those movements
Janeba is fantastic!!!!!❤
I do not know how to play a instrument, but I like the video
Beautiful ❤❤❤
How do you execute a triple Forte without sounding as if you were "banging" the keyboard ?
must be great experience for that young boy to learn from the master
he focuses on musicality which is a good lesson to players of all instruments (I play the guitar) and he is good
Superb content.
Suddenly, the music seems different !
The last girl was superb.
Absolutely!
She is amazing
❤❤❤
bravi
So greatfull moments LL 🙏
Pure Genius
My lord what an honor !!!
LEGEND
GREAT
I would be so nervous and intimidated if i were the students and Mr. Lang Lang was my instructor 😅😅😅
1:11:40 yes he does seem to need a little bit of that "danger" feeling. I was hoping for something a little more organic
He's an incredible teacher
super

I admire Lang Lang
