Watching this video with my girlfriend on our PCs. Both get to the bit with the "swan" and we both say (over Skype) "it's a goose you fucking idiot" then laugh. Love the video so far. :D
+spooks77 Endgame gear can be bought ... And yes its a million times faster ... sooooooo much faster. It can be done though if you are decent at math, people cant list items for correctly so profit is there ... It's worth ago but don't expect to ever rank high unless you pay. Some of the Lunastones(enchantment stones) can cost 400 gold a go. Game is huge on RNG and you CAN waste months of work and be worse off. Try it though .. But go Patron .. ITS ESSENTIAL to enjoy the game.
+spooks77 Not P2W. You can buy patron status with gold and it's a huge reason why I play. I know of paying players who quit because they don't have to and can get the same status without paying.
+djay T-b Sorry but that is not true, I have played the game since it was in test phase & reached level cap on 14 characters, only one of those I put any money into & yet all of them have stood toe to toe with paying players, all you need to do is be patient, play through the game & be smart wile playing the market. It is an amazing free to play/win game if you can be patient & put the time into it.
Jack Swifty I stopped playing once I got bored tbh, I'm sure It's crazy fun if you've got a guild or a bunch of friends but I have no motivation to get to end game with thi, sorry dude
God i wanted to love this game so much. I remember when the Kraken was the ultimate thing. My guild of easily 60+ people were dominating our server. It was the most fun I've had in an MMO, aaaaaaaand then the Pay to Win began to kick in by Trion... the labor system didn't annoy me as much as not being able to keep my property without the subscription... eventually it became "pay to keep your 8 properties" :\
I haven't paid a single penny and just yesterday with the help of my guild (Only had them along as security because I had to travel through a PvP zone) I turned in 8 trade packs for 23g each. I also own a 24x24 farmhouse, a 24x24 manor, and a 16x16 farm. Still haven't paid a single penny for this game since I started playing again. As a patron I legitimately have too much labor to spend lol. But the system is still in place because otherwise you could just farm coin purses all day and literally make infinite gold by just farming mobs, and the economy would be in the toilet (Because keep in mind, those coin purses also drop archeum which is an expensive material needed to craft gear)
Who are you trying to trick? You cant turn in tradepacks for 25g even if you went from penisula to hellswamp its up to 10g not higher.Idk about haranya continent prices.APEX was what, like 50g? On my server(Dahuta) one FUCKING APEX is 400g and you need two for patron...So I recommend this dont start playing his
this if you are not prepared to pay for it or put alot, I mean alot of time for grinding and getting labor(worst thing ever).I got to lvl 50 and just quit when I found out that libary is just grinding for ages to get to the next lvl(I am on a phone so I couldnt edit my comment)
SgtZox Typical person who has barely played the game but still bashes it like they know everything. Fellowship trade packs are worth by far more gold than normal trade packs. I took them fom one PvP zone to the furthest away PvP zone and yeah, they were worth 23g each. Easter Continent, and through a somewhat secret route it's a very short drive.
PoDaPowder Kinda unfair, considering the fact that every game has their positive points / negative points, along with the fact whether the game is a free to play game or a subscription based game; Examples: (WoW, Final Fantasy XIV). Or if you don't have enough time or a lot of time to spend. There's just so many sub directories you can put the game in, therefore you'd have to make a lot of lists and review a lot of more games to achieve this. What LazyPeon has done is giving his final opinion about the game at the end of the video, summing the aspects up of what the game belongs to, therefore I personally think that creating a list is kind of pointless, as watching the reviews gives enough information related to the game.
I wouldn't recommend playing this game. The developers are extremely greedy, the pvp is pretty bad. its all about classes that cc lock you down and burst you instantly while you cant do a single thing unless you choose the one tree with the one cc remover or your a tank and u laugh at burst and slowly chip ur opponents health bar away while also using a ton of cc. The Labor system is bs even when you are a patron because it take forever to get labor and you uses it extremely fast. Its a Cash shop game. The Publishers for North American servers really couldnt give two shits about the game to be honest. Pve is just meh and you end up grinding mobs. ive also had few friends who couldnt even play the game because of Isp issues with it or it straight out crashed. I had a problem were my windows defender went crazy and it just used all my disk space and crashed the game every time i opened it. It was fun to level with friends but once you reach max level you will realize how much of a waste of time this game is.
It really is sad! I enjoyed this game for the first like 2 hours... then I quickly realized how boring and grindy it was. Unless you have a lot of money, friends, or time to put in, you will not enjoy this game for the most part :( The combat was quite interesting, so were the animations and much of the lore, but alas... tis not to be. But is a great Dance Sim! :P
+Alex Anaya Agree Has performance issues (low fps and crashes often) Balance does not exist Its pay to win (unless you subscribe you cant rly lvl up proffesions because of the labor system ,you cant do trading because of the labor system and you cant own land) Grind non stop even after you reach max lvl PvE is non existant PvP is who ever CC's first wins unless you have a tank spec in which case you are kited to death by archers but melee cant touch you (just type ArcheAge Arenas and watch) Its basicly who has more credit cards and can grief better srsly the game tells you to grief ppl by killing even your own faction and stealing their trade packs and /or blocking paths with your own carriages
Basically you only need to get patron once and then you can pretty much pay for it with in game gold by just farming and doing other stuff. And also P2W is a very very subjective thing, can you buy items off the shop that can't be obtained in game (like weapons and armor)? No you can't. Can you make a ton of gold and purchase the items in game and be all shiny and powerful quicker than a non paying player? Yes you can. Imo P2W is only when I can buy a sword for 20$ off the shop and just own everybody. But as I said it's my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Great vid as usual.
Idolismo I did try ArchAge early on but never got very far, but considering it is made by Trion Worlds which also gave us RIFT, I would imagine their cash shops are pretty similar. RIFT is in my opinion a completely P2W game, which is sad because it was at one point in time my favorite fantasy MMORPG. I loved RIFT at launch and only quit playing it because all of my friends quit playing it, when I found out another group of my friends were still playing it, I jumped at the chance to join them and start playing again. When SWTOR launched it got shelved again, until I heard it was going F2P, at which point I got a bit curious as to what they were doing again. I checked them out and saw that raiding was going to be free, and I was super excited. I went to GameStop and sold some games to purchase a game time card, and started playing it. My new sub over lapped the F2P launch with a 3/5 week split I think. I checked the cash shop when the F2P update launched b/c I had heard they were selling upgradable gear that you could raid with, and was shocked to see it, and also the first tier of PVP gear which was also upgradable. I consider that to be P2W. In comparison SWTOR, which often does get labeled as P2W by it's naysayers, does put raiding and unlimited loot rolls in dungeons and raids behind the pay wall, as well as unlimited PVP matches, and the ability to equip the best quality of gear. However they also allow you to purchase passes to get those unlimited PVP matches, dungeons, and to raid with their cash shop currency, which often people with extra disposable income will purchase and list on the GTN to make some extra credits. I spent about 3-4 months purchasing the Weekly Operations Passes using my in game wealth, and only raiding I still was having to spend credits on Account Wide unlocks on the GTN to keep from exceeding my credit cap as a Preferred Player (a Preferred Player is one who has spent $5 or more on the game in any manner possible on that account). The only gear that you can purchase from the SWTOR cash shop, known as the Cartel Market, are actually skins in which you place you existing armor and weapon mods, and mounts which scale based upon your mount skill level, and color crystals which are one of the mods that you place in your weapon, and off hand item. The color crystals are mostly flavor items allowing you to change the color of your lightsaber, or blaster fire, and providing a slight advantage while doing PVE content whilst leveling, during PVP the Bolster system actually puts everyone up to that same level of color crystal, so it is largely a wash in competitive play. I don't consider having those 2 mods slots out of the total 24 mods slots possible, as end game mods as too overpowered when they really don't provide that much of an advantage, and no advantage at all whilst you are playing in a competitive arena. If it was to even shave 5% off of your total leveling time I would be amazed. Granted having a sub normally grants a 25% bonus to exp gains, and currently grants ~12x exp gains temporarily to get people into the level relevant range of the new expac that they are launching in 2 months. RIFT grants a 40% exp gain bonus to subs.
Walter Beverly As I said in my opinion, P2W is only then when the game let's you purchase things such as armors and weapons which can not be obtained in the game. ArchAge doesn't have it. And since it's my opinion I call the whole P2W debacle a subjective matter. Some people will already go on to P2W rage only because you can sell items off the shop for a fairly large amount of gold but if you think about it ArchAge is an sandbox-ish game and everything can be sold or bough it makes perfect sense that you'd be able to sell those items to other players. Again, all of this is MY opinion and I'm not here to start a war :)
Idolismo I understand that is your opinion, however I was attempting to explain to you that generally P2W means buying an unfair advantage over people who do not pay similarly. While I understand where you come from, it's kind of delusional to say that a game isn't P2W when you can literally purchase all the items needed to compete, regardless of if you can get the same items, items of like quality in game.
Walter Beverly Again it's *your* opinion and how *you* interpret P2W. Highly subjective - that's why I try not to get involved into discussions such as these. Thing about AA is given you've invested enough time into the game you'll have all the same weapons and armor pieces as someone who bought some shinies off the Shop and sold them on the market and then purchased the gear from the *players*. Sure it's faster that way and that's why they're called credit card warriors but it's not like everyone can have it. Also something that is worth mentioning, you do not purchase the gear off the shop, you still buy it off the players or / and the market. Hey, I'm not defending AA or Trion for that matter, I'm just saying that everyone has their own version of P2W these days. Some even call XP boosters P2W.
Actually that's not my opinion it's the opinion of the majority of people who play F2P games. If you google what makes a game P2W you will find numerous articles that state something along the lines of, "Pay-to-Win, strictly speaking, in which the more money a player spends, the more powerful they become and the more likely to succeed against players who have spent less." Which doesn't mean that I would be unable to compete with someone who spent more money than me, but that I would be less likely to.
Okay, this video is fantastic. I REALLY like how you plowed through a good chunk of the game, highlighting little cool shit here and there, and picked out moments instead of just a straight run-through. This gives me a VERY good sense of what the gameplay will be like, and I'm certainly using your vids as a resource from now on. Your style rocks, you're entertaining, and thank you for the many, many vids! PS--I actually busted up laughing when you summoned the horse as bait.
It's really not a big deal whatsoever. If you're that knit picky about a few words being said wrong... I'm sure you're the same type of person whose intelligence is easily insulted, bro.
Just play isometric games like Diablo type .. at the very least they're still good. I'm waiting for Lineage Eternal and Lost Ark while currently playing Grim Dawn.
This game was soooooo good on release , such promise for a great mmo. They ruined it through bad customer service , bad server management , to much emphasis on grinding ( turned away casuals which is typically an mmos main player basis) and most of all introduced pay to win feature when the ship started to sink. Such a let down.
My wife and I played Archeage for several months straight out of release. It was her first time playing an MMO and we have a blast. We both reached max level pretty quickly and joined a friendly guild. The end game is very focused on PvP. There were only a few dungeons when we played. That being said, the sea PvP with fleets of large battleships and stuff is really really fun. Ultimately we quit because of how hard it is to get end game gear without dropping a ton of money or many many many hours of grinding. The labor system can also be pretty annoying. If they would just fix those things it would be an excellent game. After Archeage we both ended up playing WoW for the first time and we are loving it. We've both been at it about a month now. I must admit though, nothing so far in WoW has quite reached the epicness of open world, naval based PvP.
Archeage 3.0 on December 10 revamp with complete fresh start server, no cash shop for more info read Archeage producer letter in trion website. This is the biggest expansion in AA.
VERY FUCKING Pay to WIN...thats why as awesome as it is...i was sinking 50 dollars or more a month into the game. its a awesome game..but the pay 2 win will either make you crack your wallet for the shineys..or finally get fed up and walk away.
This is an awesome series and it's a really cool niche for gaming videos, even though there are other people doing first impression videos (theyre not that good and far from funny for the most part, but im open to being proved wrong here). Really going about it like a brand new player gives the viewer a really honest idea about how it is for a new gamer to adopt a whole new MMORPG, especially coming from a WoW perspective. Thanks a mil for these!
I enjoy your First Impression videos. Please keep 'em coming! :D I have one word of critique - Could you be more mindful of your audience when addressing them. I notice you say "lads" and "boys" a lot when addressing your audience. There are a lot of us females out here and using male specific terms to address your audience feels exclusionary.
Honestly, this game has GREAT potential but the appeal is towards the Eastern style of MMO's rather than Western, if they increase the ease to do items such as buy a membership in game they would get a lot more players IMO.
They had a huge problem with gold sellers spamming all day and night so they made chat not accessible till 15 to cut down on it. Then the gold sellers botted to 15 and kept spamming gold sells lol.
The RNG and cash shop! Oh the pain! Such an amazing game during the Alpha and Beta stages.Yes they have toned down the RNG but most of us won't go back due to the high amount of people who do pay for things such as labour pots to get extra labour as an advantage. ArcheAge is so much fun to level up in with some friends and a guild. Trade runs can be tons of fun as well. If you are looking for a game thats PVP heavy than forget ArcheAge. The PVP is fun but you will always be at the disadvantage to those who have paid in the game. Also wishing you would have touched more on the unique classes that the game offers. You get to pick three and they make up an entire new class. There are 120 in total which can make you feel pretty unique. However you will soon notice that 99% of people who play usually only role from a small selection of the better classes such as Spellslinger.
TheLazyPeon This isn't the point, the problem there is that it was a MAGE jellyfish, which is the reason why it launched a something-bolt on you, haha.
so i clicked on this video to watch like 5 mins of it to decide whether i should download the game or not.. but now idc anymore because you're hilarious! SUBBED
i can honestly say that some of the funnest moments i've ever had playing a game have been on archage. there's definitely reason to not play it and I'd be lying if i said they didn't get to me, but if you have a guild that does pay for the game than i can honestly say go get it. there's nothing like hopping on a fully crewed merchant ship looking out for any activity and fighting little ships that try to board you off. I'd recommend this game highly if you have a guild that you play a lot with. apart from that, steer clear
it's pay to win, and you'll spend every second in level 30+ zones watching your back... literally any player in the game could attack you. Good if you subscribe and like constant world pvp, otherwise it's not worth it. I subscribed for a while and couldn't understand why everyone hated the labor system... then I unsubscribed and understood very well why, lol
LITERALLY EVERY FUCKING TIME I TRY TO RETURN TO THIS PIECE OF SHIT I JUST CHECK MY LABOR BAR AND THEN THINK "OH I WASN'T A PATRON WHEN I STOPPED PLAYING SO ITS ON 0 AND I HAVE TO FUCKING WAIT 100000 HOURS WITHOUT DOING SHIT TO DO ANYTHING" THEN I LOG OUT, DELETE AND THEN 2 MONTHS LATER THE SAME
Hey Peon great video, Will definetly have to try ArcheAge since I have played most MMO games out there. But I would love to see your first impressions of Dragon Nest. Such an amazing game one of my favourites.
Also one of the main exodus of the game was the implementation of the Ancient Library and increase level cap 51-55. The Library has 3 floors that all you door is farm mobs. The game is a huge grind. Naval combat is fantastic
What's your opinion on hackshield? it's pretty much the only reason I haven't started playing the game yet, I don't know what it is, how it works, but people have been claiming it's bad. Is it?
I had so much fun with this game initially, i really wish it had been more balanced in terms of progression. And that preventing hacking and bots had been a priority from the start
2:41 damn he looks like Medivh from WoW haha! Nice video Peon I like all your videos only the one thing is why you bite your hand when you rage thats kinda uncomfortable to see. Still like your videos keep going on!
One of the main reason it was pay to win is that the cash shop has chests that contained some of the high level crafting upgrades needed to increase the rarity of equipment. Unlike other games that has a cash shop with strictly cosmetic effects, the cash shop for archeage had crafting materials that any crafter needed. Some of the materials were only available thru RNG cash box. Higher level crafting requires RNG needed to advance in the weapon strength. For example,Illustrious -> Magnificent -> Epherium -> Delphinad -> when crafting a sword it took a specific stat to make it into the higher tier. So crafting took a lot of mats, Illustiious Summer sword (Strength + spirit) was need to make a Magnificent, Mag summer sword to make and eph, and the eph summer sword to make a delph sword. If your illustriou summer sword Procs lets say magnificent flame sword, then it cannot become epherium and you have to start over.
Just want to add this if no one else has said it yet. While it can be hard to get gold if you aren't patron and don't grind, you can still get patron with just in-game currency. Players can buy "Apex" and sell it on the auction house for gold. You can use two of that to get a one month subscription. It's still hard to do that and meet that monthly gold quota, but it's still do-able. Also, it is so much fun and so much easier once you get into a good guild. Have made a lot of good friends in this game.
Appreciate your opinions, but you can't really talk about if this game is pay to win just because 'you heard' its pay to win. You have to show in your video how and why its pay to win. "something that was in the back of my mind was that this game is pay to win and its known for being pay to win" you showed no examples of the game mechanics at work that were pay to win. After 5 hours playing and at level 15 I doubt you even know what you were talking about regarding the supposed pay to win end game gear. cheers.
+Jake A "prove it again" ... he didn't prove it in the video. That's my point. Link me to the timestamp where he proved the game is pay to win. My point stands. If you're going to speak *for* someone, at least make a valid point.
Jake A 1. Stop insulting me. 2. Subscription bonuses are not pay to win, they are like any other game with increased or double XP or increased or double Gold rate, i.e TERA or RIFT or any other with an optional subscription. You can sea fare without paying. You're wrong on this matter, give it up. Cheers.
Jake A Its takes a fair bit of time to build a boat with all the ingredients. He played for 5 hours. It takes days upon days to accumulate the materials or gather the gold to buy these. It has been estimated around 2 weeks to get all these materials for free yourself. But if you have a lot of Gold, you can just buy from the AH.
+Robu Plays i have played this and it is a pay to win game with a few other problems. the labor point system. even if you kept yourself logged in with some kind of movement macro it took a lot of time to refill on LPs. you could also buy pots to refill your LP that cost real money and sell on the AH or use yourself. i have built the clipper, the small cheep house, 2 large gardens, 2 small gardens, and the farm house. it takes forever to do it yourself or cost you a lot of cash/gold to buy the LP pots, and you will use a lot of them.i had a friend who had 4 toons and maxed out LP pot use's on all of them a day (they had a long cool down before next use), because all alts shared LP. now the other major problem i had with this game was pvp at the ports. unlike WoW and other games once your flagged in a non pvp area you stay flagged for a few mins. but on Archeage even if you are attacked at the enemies port they do not flag and are safe from your party from jumping in to help, even if there are 12 of them vs 1 of you, and they would wait in packs for you to show up. as a little issue. you also had trolls who would play nice as your lvlin in the area just to wait for you to get into a fight and flag just to kill you and unflag. so when you went for payback you had to flag and look like the troll, people passing by would jump in and kill you saving the one who started the fight. once more being locked into flag mode would of helped a lot. because no one wanted to be an official pirate, but they wanted to be pirate's. and yes i was in a pirate hunting guild and it was very satisfying to sink their ships. just before i walked away the unofficial pirates on both sides joined forces with the official pirates to blockade the open waters from both factions. it was safer to swim in stealth across, and that took forever.
You are entertaining. I like you. I'm subbing and checking out your other videos. On a serious note, thank you for uploading this, I had fun learning about archeage gameplay. I watched a few other reviews and yours is definitely the best I came across. XD.
A Orange Kitty Doesn't Runescape have an awful community? I've heard that If you say that you play or have played WoW in the past, everyone there will pretty much hate you. Then again, I did hear this rumor about 3-4 years ago, I may be wrong now. XD
I am a patron in the game, but have never felt compelled to spend any money in the store. To me it just feels like paying a normal sub, but because they advertise as f2p I can understand why that is a no-go to some people. To me it is worth it though, as it is a great game :)
I know this video is pretty old, and someone may have commented on it before, but I thought I should mention that you can actually go Patron for free. Similar to Eve Online's PLEX mechanic, ArcheAge has Apex. The Apex is purchased with real money by Whales and sold on AH for Gold. You can then but the Apex (takes 2 to do this) and use them for credits. The credits can be used to go Patron or it can be used to purchase stuff from the store. As patron you also get Loyalty, which can be used in the store. Also there are Gilda and Stars that can be used in the store or on Mirage Isle. In any case, you can actually play the game for free and get all the perks of the game with only In Game Gold. I mostly play to earn gold, and find I make more money F2P than a Patron most of the time. I'm just skilled at making money ;) The biggest issue I have with the game is RNG. While the next update coming in June 2017 will make some changes to this system, RNG will still be there. Even now, though, you can still get the best gear in game (not the best tier mind you, but the best gear) by doing dungeons and crafting the best gear from items won in a dungeon (Aria's Autograph will allow you to choose what you want). So what it comes down to for me is PvP. PvP is unbalanced and has a ton of issues. I won't even get into it, it deserves a video of its own and there are plenty out there.
Man, I typically dislike streamers and reviewers, although admittedly I use your lot for my convenience and info when I need it. I really liked your commentary and editing, though. Nice video! I wasn't sure if I wanted to get back into this game (played it for about the first 3 months of US/EU launch), but watching your video made me wanna play it again. Thanks for the video, nice style!
14:16 @TheLazyPeon Thank you ,that was on point, i have played on both official and private servers and it does involve too much work, either work at your job and p2w, or work in the game at least 12h/day to be competetive at least a bit. That is balancing wise. Still, the enviroment and general feeling of the game, exploration, size, the very complexity of crafting, trading and pvp is unparraleled in any mmorpg i have played so far and i have played quite a few. This video is several years old, but it still depicts what is the reality of archeage. #TheLazyPeon #Archeage
Dude very entertaining video. I already really like archeage I just was looking at how other people liked it. But your video has by far been the most entertaing! Good job dude!
Patron is affordable via in-game progress. I never spent a dime on this game and was patron and had a decked out farmhouse + 4 other smaller houses around the world for months. Paying cash does give you a substantial advantage as far as lottery boxes and gearing up late-game.
I really like this game, because you can do stuff on the land that people can see, like build a farm or a house. And this game has really fun combat imo
One way or the other, levelling up to 50-55, experiencing some of the world events, and exploring all the zones is totally worth it. Whether you want to continue from there is another question, but as a free player it's a really awesome game to hop into and mess around once in a while, at the very least.
I think the only way to play this game properly as F2P such as myself. Is have friends that have patron and help you out. They bought me an Auction License which is 150credits. And I've made about 600-700g roughly for the past week selling random shit. Oh and dungeons are a good alternate for gear if you dont have any labor to make Obsidian weapons. Got my Cursed Obsidian Bow yesterday that was made by my friend that has patron, but of course I had to pay him gold to make it. So far been playing this game as F2P for a week and a half, have full High Inquisitor with 2 celestial and 1 celestial cursed bow
Some wizards use their magic for good, others for evil. This is their calling. TheLazyPeon's uses his mastery of magic to do one thing..... to DANCE!!!!!!! *Cue dance music and busting sick moves.*
I know this hasn't been requested a lot and isn't too popular but can you please do a first impressions of Toontown: Rewritten? It was a disney mmo with turn-based combat which was shut down but a group of loyal fans remade it so you really should try it!
out of the 50+ ArcheAge is it worth playing reviews this is by far the best. I have been on the fence about downloading the game and watching this video really pushed me off the fence and into downloading this game
Just by itself, ArcheAge isn't actually pay to win, the people that I talk to in the game, say it's only pay to win because of the fact that illegal gold (Basically just like WoW gold sellers) you can buy and then just buy the best armor in the game with real money.
Vakgar Redaxe Well actually, you can just buy a ton of money off the cash shop, cash shop items to the auction house, and bam, you just paid to win. Go ahead and buy your regrade materials and spend a few hundred doing that and you're a whale.
PLease do atlantica! it is quite old but with a unique gameplay that you had not shown in any your IIWP videos, would really like to hear your opinion.
Archeage is fun in the end game if you are on a good realm and have a good guild, I played Archeage for some months I got to lvl 52 with a shroudmaster but the best thing was that we had really big fights with the opposing faction since a sort of war raged between players, it was really fun getting a lot of ppl to 5-6 warships and have a showdown on the sea. I was just about to write how estabilished the economy works in Archeage but I just realized how it all in the end is just to "persuade" people to spend actual money on it. It is fucked up trust me but the game itself if you get into a good community won't feel so out of reach with how much time and money has to go into getting gear, you will be able to make some progress and while it is probably more time consuming than wow it can be really good fun. Get some friends if you want to play and join Aier, Haranya faction on EU. that's where this was happening just a month back still
Currently i'm a lvl 51 and i have never run out of labor, And gold is easy to get if you know what to do, And lets say you do get to lvl 55 and now you need a crap ton of gold to get better gear and you don't have the time. Then just do something else! this game is so fun to play with friends and you can go goof off or glide or sail, I would definitely recommend this game
"Look at my horse My horse is amazing Give it a lick! Mmm! It tastes just like raisins Have a stroke of its mane It turns into a plane And then he turns back again When you tug on his winky" Damn you, Weebl!!!
Archeage- is a bit different kind of MMO other than the basics. It's feeling and style caught me and got me into it very quickly. Everyone I see on my server (Kyrios) has said its pay to win at some point. Once you get to Level cap which is 55 before I left i don't know what it's at now I heard it'll be raised. But I was in the beginning some of the top GearScored players in archeage, WAY before the 2.0 update. RNG loot boxes are completely optional or if you want to step ahead and skip the whole "farm gold" tactic. Best way to truly get gold is to play the game for a while, become familiar with the routes, roads and such. And do some trade pack runs! Turn on your music or do it with a couple friends, and you'll be making 50-150 gold each run. Some runs pay more but you better bring a crew and some people because PvP and pack stealing is in various places. Some of the best places to do it is just from one side of Nuia or Haranya to the other side of the similar island.
Archeage is NOT pay to win. Nor is it Pay to git gud. You're gonna need to get good at the game yourself, and spend your time working at something you want. It's not going to hold your hand and say "alright do some quests and you'll be able to buy something nice!" NO. It's gonna throw you around and make you feel poor at times. Make you not want to lose valuable XP by dying and most of all immerse you into a world where what you do as that player impacts the games dynamic and your own playstyle. Your experience with this game is completely dependent on how you view MMO's and how much patience you truly have. This game pays off in fun when you put in the time. Full honesty don't download if you're not willing to stick to it for a while. If you are have fun diving into that amazing world, Kyrios had some of the best prices and well, memberships are free, just allot your gold influx to APEX and you'll be fine, apex pay for itself and its easy as hell to get gold after a certain point. ;)
This game is good fun and completely misinterpreted on many levels as some have stated down below. All of those with a thought to check out the game, a little note. Check out the newest patch hitting this December. Fresh servers, limited cash shop, a reset button for specific servers so we can get that launch feeling everyone missed. Word of wisdom though, try it before you knock it.
"it's not easy being a swan"
Especially when you're actually a goose :P
+redcardinalist I laughed so hard at that xD the way he just assumed it was a swan
+redcardinalist I had to check to make sure I wasnt the first one to mention that!
+redcardinalist I've tried being a duck.
Its not easy either.
Shattered_Pulse
:)
Watching this video with my girlfriend on our PCs. Both get to the bit with the "swan" and we both say (over Skype) "it's a goose you fucking idiot" then laugh. Love the video so far. :D
Making a video about the new WoW expansion, should be out tonight, hype hype.
I suggest not hyping it as much as you did WOD....if it's terrible it might destroy your soul..
did some one say Thunderfury, blessed Blade of the Windseeker?!... what it isnt a WoW video? well screw you im doing it anyway!
TheLazyPeon thank you for making this video :)
TheLazyPeon
Disappointed in new WoW expansion, that is why "ArcheAge First Impressions "Is It Worth Playing?""
haha))
TheLazyPeon World of Warcraft FREAKING LEGION
sounded and looked so great. then u said its pay to win and i moved on.
Its not rly pay to win tbh
+christopher pedersen it is , you can never compete with paying people , if trion didn't fuck this up it would have been the one
It is an amazing free to play/win game if you can be patient & put the time into it.
lol, did his friend rage and quit or something?
Grapes He had to go to work :(
TheLazyPeon Do more? I've started playing the game and would like to see more of a series.
Jack Swifty I stopped playing once I got bored tbh, I'm sure It's crazy fun if you've got a guild or a bunch of friends but I have no motivation to get to end game with thi, sorry dude
+TheLazyPeon bro its fun if you reach level 50
Don Bautista Games shit. Developers ruined it's potential.
My friend literally just mentioned this game, that we should play it again. He asked why we quit it before, I didn't remeber. Oh right, labor assrape.
Same here...
God i wanted to love this game so much. I remember when the Kraken was the ultimate thing. My guild of easily 60+ people were dominating our server. It was the most fun I've had in an MMO, aaaaaaaand then the Pay to Win began to kick in by Trion...
the labor system didn't annoy me as much as not being able to keep my property without the subscription...
eventually it became "pay to keep your 8 properties" :\
you can buy with your ''award point'' (merit badge/gilda star what ever it is) for pajamas set to earning extra 50 labor point in deep sleep..
5:39 is my favourite part of this entire video. The end of that little song had me roaring xD
Bell Idrael "hasn't paid a single penny" has patron
Shade Thorn Yeah, people don't seem to realize that. You can buy Patron with ingame gold. I got it easily.
Easter Continent, and through a somewhat secret route it's a very short drive.
im digging the way he cuts through the video so I don't have too
i think you should rank all these games from worst to best
PoDaPowder yes please!
I never played archeage because it has a fuck ton of botting, so archeage is immediately a zero
His fear of jellyfish is quite amusing.
Hope he never plays Dramatical Murder
Jellyfish are fucking terrifying.
+Popsicle Blues I saw my brother reading that once and I'm 110% certain he'd never do so himself just out of principle.
A. FRIGGIN'. GREED.
i wasn't amuse i was like 0.o?! i never saw someone being afraid of something till biting his own hand i was more worried about him then being amused
M8 its not a swan, its a goose ...
Alex Anaya this game would be amazing if it didnt have the gambling style gear upgrading/crafting.
So sad.
The mechanics, world, and graphics look like a lot of love was put in the game.
It really is sad! I enjoyed this game for the first like 2 hours... then I quickly realized how boring and grindy it was. Unless you have a lot of money, friends, or time to put in, you will not enjoy this game for the most part :(
The combat was quite interesting, so were the animations and much of the lore, but alas... tis not to be.
But is a great Dance Sim! :P
+Alex Anaya Agree
Has performance issues (low fps and crashes often)
Balance does not exist
Its pay to win (unless you subscribe you cant rly lvl up proffesions because of the labor system ,you cant do trading because of the labor system and you cant own land)
Grind non stop even after you reach max lvl
PvE is non existant
PvP is who ever CC's first wins unless you have a tank spec in which case you are kited to death by archers but melee cant touch you (just type ArcheAge Arenas and watch)
Its basicly who has more credit cards and can grief better srsly the game tells you to grief ppl by killing even your own faction and stealing their trade packs and /or blocking paths with your own carriages
do a first impressions on wow :P
NonsensicalSpudz it wouldn't be a first impression
BackFlipPotato oh man so your telling me hes played wow before? what news to me!
+NonsensicalSpudz you better be being sarcastic
+Expoz3DxSpaRtaN .......
apple_ juice ....... what?
That's.......... not a swan.....
its a goose for f u ck s s a ke
it's a duck :P guess he's never seen an Aflac commercial?
lol...
Your "Is It Worth Playing" videos are awesome :D
'vitalism' "virtualism" 'occultism' "occulism". bro, do you even engrish?
Scrolled down to say this if no one else had... fortunately, you had me covered.
One more, kinda... "Pro loog." ......
I think i missed that. but seriously peon needs to get his words straight.
It's really not a big deal whatsoever. If you're that knit picky about a few words being said wrong... I'm sure you're the same type of person whose intelligence is easily insulted, bro.
Nah not really, couldn't care less about what people say about my intelligence bro. :)
Drew Jacob
Proud Grammar Nazi on the interwebs since 1994 here, man. Just doing my job.
Hymm, Trove- check, ArcheAge- check... what's now? Rift? I mean we got two Trion MMORPG in a row, so maybe Lazy Peon will give us a third?
Aleksy The Pony SWTOR, maybe runescape then RIFT just to break up the trion games
TheLazyPeon Runescape 3 or the oldschool version?
***** He made it in rs3....So who's shit now?
***** Well then we're both idiots xD I watched it a long time ago so I forgot.
Just play isometric games like Diablo type .. at the very least they're still good. I'm waiting for Lineage Eternal and Lost Ark while currently playing Grim Dawn.
This is pretty packed information in 16 minutes, gives a good review. Thanks for this, saves me huge amount of time!
thanks!
Illidan is back :-)
Archeage 3.0 on December 10 revamp with complete fresh start server, no cash shop for more info read Archeage producer letter in trion website. This is the biggest expansion in AA.
man steel is this true?
yes
VERY FUCKING Pay to WIN...thats why as awesome as it is...i was sinking 50 dollars or more a month into the game. its a awesome game..but the pay 2 win will either make you crack your wallet for the shineys..or finally get fed up and walk away.
i didnot pay anything. new patch is ez u can make money so much.mate got epic bow with no wallet.
+Dysfunctional Fox The labor systems and cruel rng is what kills it.
They had a huge problem with gold sellers spamming all day and night so they made chat not accessible till 15 to cut down on it. Then the gold sellers botted to 15 and kept spamming gold sells lol.
6:30 " Look at my horse my horse is amazing! " Cue horse is amazing 10hour loop!
Why is Medivh here? I guess that explains where he went
I like the idea of "peasant" looking gear at start, like vanilla wow!
it feels so good to get cooler and better gear as you adventure across azeroth!
"It's a hard life being a swan..."
*is a goose*
However you will soon notice that 99% of people who play usually only role from a small selection of the better classes such as Spellslinger.
omg i lmao so hard, do you have a phobia of jelly fish or something?
Magician12345 Yeah man, they've always freaked me out, they're basically tentacle water spiders that can kill you
TheLazyPeon This isn't the point, the problem there is that it was a MAGE jellyfish, which is the reason why it launched a something-bolt on you, haha.
Seriously, I about pissed myself and woke up my roommate.
so i clicked on this video to watch like 5 mins of it to decide whether i should download the game or not..
but now idc anymore because you're hilarious!
SUBBED
you're my favorite youtuber notice me senpai
FawtBalugaWhale I notice you :)
I play it on a private server and love it sooo much... I played so many mmos, even wow, gw2... but this one is really addictive for me.
how popular is the private server now? o: i wanna try it cause the normal server is empty :c
This game looks so good, but it being p2w puts me off :/
i can honestly say that some of the funnest moments i've ever had playing a game have been on archage. there's definitely reason to not play it and I'd be lying if i said they didn't get to me, but if you have a guild that does pay for the game than i can honestly say go get it. there's nothing like hopping on a fully crewed merchant ship looking out for any activity and fighting little ships that try to board you off. I'd recommend this game highly if you have a guild that you play a lot with. apart from that, steer clear
Damn, the graphics is pretty good. I might try this game.
Same xD
its pay to win
Don't
it's pay to win, and you'll spend every second in level 30+ zones watching your back... literally any player in the game could attack you. Good if you subscribe and like constant world pvp, otherwise it's not worth it. I subscribed for a while and couldn't understand why everyone hated the labor system... then I unsubscribed and understood very well why, lol
+Vatrellette what is labor?
You need to do a montage of all your songs. I find them hilarious.
There are 120 classes, not 6
Hi I just happened to watch you video.I'm glad I did.You had me laughing through most of it.Thank you!
Archeage is not p2w, we lose every time :P
Also the customization is INSANE. You can open the the gear in the customization menu to adjust width size depth color etc of everything.
rift next please !!
Jon Marsh. E rift is terrible lol
Jon Marsh. E Neverwinter could be nice too.
Thane Krios Neverwinter and Rift are the most sellout bullshit shittiest games in our galaxy
Louisdidnothingwrong Not at all. But thank you for sharing your opinion.
Louisdidnothingwrong Neverwinter is satan
So Peon you said you were doing Rift eventually. Are you doing it anytime soon? :P
SuperSouleater16 After SWTOR, got a lot of games on this list to try, attempting to go at then based on most requested
this is not the archage I played when it was released in the west
Also one of the main exodus of the game was the implementation of the Ancient Library and increase level cap 51-55. The Library has 3 floors that all you door is farm mobs. The game is a huge grind. Naval combat is fantastic
The quick edit cuts are really annoying.
What's your opinion on hackshield? it's pretty much the only reason I haven't started playing the game yet, I don't know what it is, how it works, but people have been claiming it's bad. Is it?
"There are 6 classes..." Heh
At start you have no idea. He didn't mentioned the class system later. It's a shame, really.
I had so much fun with this game initially, i really wish it had been more balanced in terms of progression. And that preventing hacking and bots had been a priority from the start
still my favourite mmo
2:41 damn he looks like Medivh from WoW haha! Nice video Peon I like all your videos only the one thing is why you bite your hand when you rage thats kinda uncomfortable to see. Still like your videos keep going on!
13:02 LMAOOO
Shut the fuck up bitch, that's your problem.
Haydar Sefkan Kayar wut
6:08 its a fucking goose
I love your vids man! Seeing the enthusiasm you put into these games is refreshing! them jellyfish though! hahaha
Game seems like fun but half of the textures look like vomit.
3NGIN33R Yeah, few crappy textures
"something that was in the back of my mind was that this game is pay to win and its known for being pay to win"
you showed no examples of the game mechanics at work that were pay to win.
Jake A
1. Stop insulting me.
2. Subscription bonuses are not pay to win, they are like any other game with increased or double XP or increased or double Gold rate, i.e TERA or RIFT or any other with an optional subscription. You can sea fare without paying. You're wrong on this matter, give it up. Cheers.
Jake A
Its takes a fair bit of time to build a boat with all the ingredients.
XD.
Runescape next?
A Orange Kitty I'll revisit Runescape, I used to play back in the day so I can't call it a first impressions
TheLazyPeon pls do old school runescape and not rs3 :D
Theodorus Screw RS3 old school's where It's at :D
TheLazyPeon RS3 could technically function as a first impression if you haven't played it. It's changed A LOT.
A Orange Kitty Doesn't Runescape have an awful community? I've heard that If you say that you play or have played WoW in the past, everyone there will pretty much hate you.
Then again, I did hear this rumor about 3-4 years ago, I may be wrong now. XD
These videos are perfect. Never stop making these!
I am a patron in the game, but have never felt compelled to spend any money in the store. To me it just feels like paying a normal sub, but because they advertise as f2p I can understand why that is a no-go to some people. To me it is worth it though, as it is a great game :)
diamondsofsix enjoy your p2w terrible game
I am thanks :)
so WOW is also p2w? Since you have to subscribe to play it.
Isint that a goose?...
I was going to say that was a duck... but after looking up an image of a goose, I think you may be right. It sure as hell ain't a swam, though. Lawls.
+The War Fist He also tought a shark was a whale, and a lion being a wolf... so we can be safe to say he doesnt know sht about animals
+Robin Iversen Good thing he's not hosting a zoology channel here on YT
Looks cool when does it come out ?
actually a p2w game ruined at pvp
Man, I typically dislike streamers and reviewers, although admittedly I use your lot for my convenience and info when I need it. I really liked your commentary and editing, though. Nice video! I wasn't sure if I wanted to get back into this game (played it for about the first 3 months of US/EU launch), but watching your video made me wanna play it again. Thanks for the video, nice style!
One of the worst mmos I've seen on the market so far.
He had bad rng in game ;[
14:16 @TheLazyPeon Thank you ,that was on point, i have played on both official and private servers and it does involve too much work, either work at your job and p2w, or work in the game at least 12h/day to be competetive at least a bit. That is balancing wise. Still, the enviroment and general feeling of the game, exploration, size, the very complexity of crafting, trading and pvp is unparraleled in any mmorpg i have played so far and i have played quite a few. This video is several years old, but it still depicts what is the reality of archeage. #TheLazyPeon #Archeage
ArcheAge isn't P2W, it's pay to advance faster
I absolutely love your video style. I plan on watching many more!
If you dont got 10 euros to spent for patron, then stop gaming and go get a job
Dude very entertaining video. I already really like archeage I just was looking at how other people liked it. But your video has by far been the most entertaing! Good job dude!
Patron is affordable via in-game progress. I never spent a dime on this game and was patron and had a decked out farmhouse + 4 other smaller houses around the world for months. Paying cash does give you a substantial advantage as far as lottery boxes and gearing up late-game.
You have fantastic taste in music, it's why I subbed
Your gameplays are very interesting because you edit the best parts.
You have done a lot my friend, keep up the good work!
It was a disney mmo with turn-based combat which was shut down but a group of loyal fans remade it so you really should try it!
im tryna take my shopping for a new mmo seriously and i keep running into ur videos at 3am, ur funny af
out of the 50+ ArcheAge is it worth playing reviews this is by far the best.
Vakgar Redaxe Well you can buy raid gear in Wow too !
Vakgar Redaxe Well actually, you can just buy a ton of money off the cash shop, cash shop items to the auction house, and bam, you just paid to win. Go ahead and buy your regrade materials and spend a few hundred doing that and you're a whale.
Vakgar Redaxe nope, its not "illegal gold". You buy the gold from the developers, Trion, and then you use that gold to buy the best in slot gear.
PLease do atlantica! it is quite old but with a unique gameplay that you had not shown in any your IIWP videos, would really like to hear your opinion.
I love this series, well done!
"Look at my horse
My horse is amazing
Give it a lick!
Mmm! It tastes just like raisins
Have a stroke of its mane
It turns into a plane
And then he turns back again
When you tug on his winky"
Damn you, Weebl!!!
oooh that's dirty!
Can you move while shooting an arrow or casting a spell?
I love watching your videos man, keep up the good work ^^
Archeage- is a bit different kind of MMO other than the basics.
