I made this tonight- Nov 19th and followed your recipe exactly and it was amazing. I also garnished with some crushed cashews. Thanks for sharing your passion and appreciate your channel. Best Wishes from Calgary, Canada 🇨🇦
Butter chicken next please AL mate, since I followed you from the start, its my birthday soon so having butter chicken for my dinner if you could help a brother out 🤣
I was reading somewhere that there are many, many different kormas from different regions. What I'd like to see is a korma with plenty of heat, like the Indian equivalent of a Thai green curry if like. Great work as usual Al, thank you.
Ok so I've ate all of your currys and they are fab can't wait to try this one! We had the chasni one AGAIN tonight! Any chance you could do a sagg aloo one 😊
I originally had to order the coconut milk powder, then started buying it at the local world foods shop, but now it's available in our local supermarket.
Excellent video and series, looking forward to making this one, i've already made some of the other 30 mins and have to say that it's the best tasting curry ive had that wasn't a takeaway , blows away the supermarket stuff. Could you recommend an alternative to almond powder as we nut allergies in the household
Al If you use Maggies coconut powder how much onion water do you use is it an addition 400ml as you use 200 ML with the spice mix and do you add the coconut powder with the almond powder you can get maggies from Asda would you use 4 tablespoons of cocnut powder great video
Just cooked that Al and it was amazing! Family loved it best korma ever fair play . Fingers crossed you get a chance to show us a butter chicken . Had to redeem myself after doing your chilli garlic a few weeks back nearly killed the kids 😂
Looks great. I miss the BIR korma, over here in Thailand the Indian restaurants put it on the menu but it’s nothing like in the uk. They insist on putting tomato ketchup in it alongside chillies. I’ll definitely make this one for my son and me.
Al I followed your recipe from the description is 9 tbsp of coconut poedwr correct as in the video you said follow the description but in the comments you told a viewer 3 tbsp please can you confirm
❤ how much coconut milk powder would you advise instead of the tinned milk? Also assume we would need to up the amount of onion water if using milk powder?
Al!! Hope you survive your flu! I like the 'Pride' brand of coconut milk: I now always look at the coconut milk content as some brands are quite low in coconut milk (guar gum etc) by percentage. Boy, that's a big pot! Best Tony
There's a couple ways I know to get a pretty good BIR Korma, surprisingly (well to me anyway) both routes use different ingredients, either way, my favourite is to add some slices of banana towards the end of cooking for my rendition of a Kashmiri Korma, just about any fruit works really.
That looks gorgeous, but I haven't got any coconut milk or cream or yougurt or saffron. So I'm going to make a vindaloo with some leftover roast chicken.
A good curry house near me, does a 'Sondia' dish, which is Korma with sliced with green chillies. So if you like a kick and a Korma, add some Chillies. A bad curry house near me uses desiccated coconut, never had it as I hate bounty bars, a texture thing. Tip top vid again Al.
Not had a korma since the boil in the bag vesta's in the 70s. Your 30 min curries are a real godsend for quick midweek curry fixes.Mind you,i always batch cook gallons of the base sauce and have a fridge freezer in the mancave thats literally literally beer and base!!! Ive even thrown the base ingredients into a soup maker and boiled up the acni stock separately and rattled through that process in 30 mins. This korma looks great and intend to break my tradition and go 'mild' this week! Chunky air fryer chips and rice at the ready!! Hope you get well soon and look forward to your next production Al. Keep on Currying!
Thank you for your support! I'm glad to hear that my method of boiling and blending onions worked well for you. I'll definitely keep all the videos up so you can continue working through them. Keep up the great work!
With any kind of blended sauce (in this case, the blended onions) i have a horrendous time with splattering when trying to cook it down. The only alternative I can find is to lower the heat and really slowly cook the paste down for like an hour - but that defeats the point of having a 30 min recipe! How to avoid this?
Aldi's chicken korma was fantastic before shrinkflation obviously caused them to change the formula. They seemed to have reduced the coconut milk and replaced the lime juice with vinegar.
You’ve knocked it out of the park with this one Al. Not my go to curry at all, but when I have one I enjoy it. On the other hand it’s the families favourite and wow, they have given it 10/10. Thanks pal
AL..These 30 min Curries are the Dogs doo doos I Love them All and they are really Good and this Comes from An Indian by Birth and Now in the Uk...I can see you doing some more of these In the Future as New Recipes Come Out....well done again👌
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you're enjoying my 30-minute curry recipes. I'll definitely keep them coming as new recipes come out. Stay tuned for more delicious dishes!
Cooked this tonight. Family loved it. There are layers of creaminess to this, but a good savoury background too. More of a chilli chicken man myself but this was really good as korma goes. Going to put a bit of Mr Naga in it later ...
So thanks to the Korma I got a face sprayed with warm tea at breakfast. Wifey: I've got some chicken maybe I'll do a curry tonight... we'll see..." Me: "Al did a Korma last night, not seen it yet" Wifey: "Nope. I saw the ingredients on Facebook...all that sugar!" (takes a mouthful of tea) Me: "Chicken Pudding " Wifey: "PFFffft.. choke, splutter, choke...." Me: "Thanks Al" 🥴
I will be giving this one the taste test this weekend for sure. Just so that I have a mild curry available in my locker for the non spicy curry lovers that I sometimes have to cater for. Does this one freeze okay Al?
Going to try this curry in the next few days. The coconut total content seems elusive. The block is mentioned but not sure it’s needed with the milk/milk powder. Last time I used block format it was rancid tasting :/ Should the canned milk suffice? Plenty of almonds and cashews are going in for certain! Cheers
Love your series of the 30 minute curries . . I’ve tried several and am really pleased with the results . . I would love to see you do a 30 minute chicken and mushroom balti so I can make that too please !! Thanks mark
Hi Al, your recipes and instructions are superb, totally idiot proof. I love the way you are super clear about everything, from measurements to techniques, cooking tools, ingredients, timings.... you need deserve a 1m + subscribes at least!
My wife said it was lovely.... take that it was a successful journey into the dark side of currys. Its was great actually, could be a family favourite. ❤
Made this for dinner this evening, the whole family loved it, tasted as good as any restaurant korma. Only suggestion is it was a bit too oily, ill drop to 80ml next time i make it :)
Followed your recipe Al, let it stand in the fridge for a couple of days, meanwhile made the Punjabi curry. Reheated tonight with your onion salad. 10/10. Which olive oil you using now? Aldi/lidl. ? Not xtra virgin surely?
Made today and it was lovely, had it with coconut, pineapple mango rice. Sprinkled with toasted almonds coconut and chilli flakes. Going to be a regular.
That was amazing Al. All the family are korma lovers and they said it was as good as a sit down. I added the coconut block. Glad I did. Top man and thank you
Making this right now. It smells delicious. i don't add sugar but will check and if it needs a little sweetness will add some hot mango chutney at the end. Also adding a thinly sliced green chilli at the end.
Tried this tonight, came up lovely except I seemed to have far too much liquid, so much that I couldn’t add the cream. I cooked it in a flat bottomed wok. It tasted fine, just soo much liquid, where did I go wrong. Should I drain water off the onion paste after blending?
I made this tonight- Nov 19th and followed your recipe exactly and it was amazing. I also garnished with some crushed cashews.
Thanks for sharing your passion and appreciate your channel.

Butter chicken next please AL mate, since I followed you from the start, its my birthday soon so having butter chicken for my dinner if you could help a brother out 🤣
Love the quip about not being into nuts, contrary to popular opinion 😂😂😂 made me laugh
I was reading somewhere that there are many, many different kormas from different regions.

Holy Karp you can cook a Missionary in that pot. Yummy.

Made this afternoon and it was mint! Defo need to try it with beef or lamb which is what I usually have it with from the takeaway.
Cheers Al 🥂
when will your BIR cookbook be published ?
When boiling my onions, I add upwards of half a chicken stock cube and half teaspoon of my spice mix or garam masala
Great recipe Al, get well soon fella
Looks banging 💛 so cooking this !! My favourite curry
Thank you Al xx
Just cooked that Al and it was amazing! Family loved it best korma ever fair play . Fingers crossed you get a chance to show us a butter chicken . Had to redeem myself after doing your chilli garlic a few weeks back nearly killed the kids 😂
Nice one mate. Best, Rik
Brilliant, thanks for the instruction, Al.
My favourite Al and the twist with the blended onion and the Saffron amazing 🎉👏
Need to find a use for all the base gravy I've got in my freezer now.😢
Hi Al if you did want to use the coconut milk powder, how much would you use?
A glass of coconut milk powder needs 2Tbsp so 400ml would need 4Tbsp but you may need more onion water as its less liquid for the curry
Al, as ever looks & I'm sure it tastes amazing! Thanks for sharing! 🙂😋
Looks great. I miss the BIR korma, over here in Thailand the Indian restaurants put it on the menu but it’s nothing like in the uk. They insist on putting tomato ketchup in it alongside chillies. I’ll definitely make this one for my son and me.
Another top video Al, thank you. Not a Korma fan myself, however, i shall defo try this one. YNWA ❤
Made it tonight.... Verry verry nice!
Al love the way you come across with all your cooking. I have been there with you from day one. Curry on Al
Great video Al when would you add the coconut block and does it replace anything or is it an extra ?
Al
I followed your recipe from the description is 9 tbsp of coconut poedwr correct as in the video you said follow the description but in the comments you told a viewer 3 tbsp please can you confirm
Pls upload your Powder Masala Recipes.. Eagerly Waiting..
Contrary to popular belief I don't like nuts 😂
The curry looks great Al can't wait to try it!
Thank you
Delicious 😋
Please don't end the series without doing a 30 minute chicken naga 🙏
That looks fantastic Al
Tesco sell Maggi coconut milk powder great video as always Al

It’s in the description.

Cooking this today, Al could I use base gravy instead of the onions as I have some already made up. Looks delicious 😋
People have done this and reported back good things.
Looks great Al, but if i was to use coconut powder how much would i use and then how much onion water?
Thanks
Same Onion water just add 3 Tbsp of the coconut milk powder
Do I still go in with coconut milk if I use the coconut milk powder? Appreciate your time
Contrary to popular belief, I'm not actually into nuts.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not had a korma since the boil in the bag vesta's in the 70s.

We need a lamb saag!!!
Just made your chicken Madras tonight. So will definitely give this one a go. Cheers Al

Great 👍
Beautiful stuff pal! Looks the absolute cocoNUTs! 🥥 👌🏼X
Great series. Thanks Al .. Xmas is coming and I hope Santa brings me one of these cooking pots ... !! and I hope he brings everything you want.
I’ve just made it. I’ll never buy a korma again… this is epic…. Ticks all the korma boxes…
Another belter Al. Try crispy fried onions to garnish.
What about Passanda?
Love these blended onion base 30 min curries. Keep ‘em coming. Can we have a chicken Ceylon this style pls?
I love the music getting more intense as Al gets less able to speak
lol, thanks for setting my Alexa to a 10 minuter timer for me!
11:26 laughed out loud. While making said korma
I made it and it was nice ...... but I would use mixed spice not curry power next time , as it turned green 😂
Yum,hope you’re feeling better
gonna try this this tomorrow. i have the cream coconut block, when do i put that in?
Stage 3
great vid hope you feel better soon mate .
Thanks 👍
Please leave all the videos up so I can work through them. I've used your method of boiling and blending onions it works a treat thanks.
Thank you for your support! I'm glad to hear that my method of boiling and blending onions worked well for you. I'll definitely keep all the videos up so you can continue working through them. Keep up the great work!
It's one of the only Indian dishes, that has never appealed to me.
I'm not a Korma fan Al, but I must say that looks really good! 🙂
I’ve made this at least 8 times since it came out. I add coconut powder and coconut milk. By far the best korma recipe
Wonderful!

Bro, How to purchase your spice powders, Greetings and best wishes from India.. Iam a big fan of your recipes.. Apeitising Recipe..
You’ve knocked it out of the park with this one Al. Not my go to curry at all, but when I have one I enjoy it. On the other hand it’s the families favourite and wow, they have given it 10/10. Thanks pal

I think you should edit the 'doo doo's' to 'doo dah's' which is what I _think_ you meant, otherwise it sounds as if this curry is a bit sh1t....🙃😄
🤣🤣 Yeah My Mistake.. They Certainly are Not a Bit S**T...as you Put it.. well worth The effort@@Red_Snappa
Looks great Al 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My spices from Spicy Joe have just arrived- that’s tomorrow’s meal sorted ✔️
Cooked this tonight. Family loved it. There are layers of creaminess to this, but a good savoury background too. More of a chilli chicken man myself but this was really good as korma goes. Going to put a bit of Mr Naga in it later ...
So thanks to the Korma I got a face sprayed with warm tea at breakfast.

Me: "Al did a Korma last night, not seen it yet"
Wifey: "Nope. I saw the ingredients on Facebook...all that sugar!" (takes a mouthful of tea)
Me: "Chicken Pudding "
Wifey: "PFFffft.. choke, splutter, choke...."
Me: "Thanks Al" 🥴
Now I ve corrected my mistake in the text I've lost the "Al's ❤️" he sent me ☹️
This is delicious Al. Thank you for your vids. Curry game changer
I will be giving this one the taste test this weekend for sure. Just so that I have a mild curry available in my locker for the non spicy curry lovers that I sometimes have to cater for.
Does this one freeze okay Al?
Made this for Friday night dinner. 👌 spot on will make others.

Dipuraja chicken korma as always been my number 1 to go to. I'll give this a go tho al 😊
I’ve really enjoyed every curry I’ve cooked so far , have you thought about writing a cook book ?
Made today and it was lovely, had it with coconut, pineapple mango rice. Sprinkled with toasted almonds coconut and chilli flakes. Going to be a regular.
Hi Al just done the korma first superb.if I would use coconut powder what would you suggest thanks bill.
If I have the coconut milk powder do I still need the coconut milk? Or does anything change? Or is it just extra?
Hope you fell better now! If not get well very soon :) another great video Al!
Cracked me up Al! Can't believe your not into nuts!🤣😂 Going to give this a try tonight (the curry , not some nuts) Thanks as always.
Sat in bed with man flu watching this, you are a warrior Al , i think you need to get back on the Bishops Finger though, just what the doctor ordered.
Tried this tonight, came up lovely except I seemed to have far too much liquid, so much that I couldn’t add the cream. I cooked it in a flat bottomed wok. It tasted fine, just soo much liquid, where did I go wrong. Should I drain water off the onion paste after blending?
Just reduce it down for longer
Hi folks. So gonna attempt the korma this weekend but can only get ground almond. Will this be ok instead of powder? Thanks.
Struggling to find the pan that Al's using. Could someone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks.
What happened to the dipping chips 😢 another good one to try. As below a Ceylon would be good.
Sultanas would have been a good addition, they plump up and add a bit more sweetness.
Great content as always Al. Love it. Thank you for all the effort you put in to these for us. Hope you're not too poorly? All the best. Justin
Excellent, love your work. These recipes never disappoint.
i saw you al...you nearly put that coconut milk instead of onion water in😜
Made this tonight. Super easy and better tasing than most of the takeaways round my way!
