I'm not sure if anyone else has said, but villagers now have job-blocks, which are basically just different blocks that dictate what they sell to you. The "target block" you found is a fletching table, and that villager will buy sticks from you for some easy emeralds.
Ahh yep that makes sense. Found a village nearish to where I setup my base in the next few videos. Will have to get some trading done!

You only need copper as building material option or to make a spyglass (you need another material for the spyglass that you haven’t seen yet and I don’t want spoil your discovery.). So you can ditch the raw copper and ingots. They are easy to get later.
Pumpkin is really only used as a trade with a farmer and not worth holding onto. Same for the beetroot. You can make soup but they don’t stack in your inventory so they take up too much room.
The water zombies are called ‘Drowned’ and will burn in daylight like normal zombies.
The boat goes really fast on the ice. It’s great fun.
If you die, the five minute timer to get your items only starts when that chunk is loaded. So it can take you an hour to reach it and as long as you a quick when you are close, your items won’t despawn.
It is novel to watch a minecrafter who has missed pretty much most of the things added in the last 10 years. It’s a very entertaining POV.

Open the crafting table, open green book, then search at the top of page, click the green check mark, it opens to show what you can make if you missing some resources, usually. Also press F3 when you want to know what a block is. It is on the right side, "targeted block" to discover what you are looking for.
Loving the episode just be careful of the phantom that comes out on a night time.
If/when you do find a large mountain, try digging down directly beneath it. You may just find..... someone

@@fogey_ 😂If you do dig down under a mountain, just be cautious if you come across a bunch of really really dark blue blocks. You already found the deepslate, and that's fine, but if you come across _another_ unfamiliar dark block down there, run the other way! 😂Or don't: it would be funny to see you experience it for the first time. Just don't take anything important with you, because you might not ever get it back, lol

I love how you know the basic game mechanics, but are discovering all the new things youve missed out on since you were only playing beta. Very unique perspective for a lets play because youre actually really good at the game already, but still learning as you go. Ive been playing for years and had no idea that a dogs tail showed their health level! Thanks for that:)

If you uncheck the green in the recipe book, by the search tab, it will show you what you have unlocked. When it is checked, It shows you what you can make with the items in your inventory. Unchecking it will show you every recipe you have unlocked. So type there "campfire", it will show you the recipe.
It doesn't show you the things you haven't unlocked. For example, if you haven't smelted a stone into smooth stone, it won't show you the things crafted with smooth stone. I hope this made sense.

Campfire doesn't burn things down. Only lava does

Smithing templates are basically cosmetics for armor
You can put your bog in the boat with you.
Fogey to craft lanterns, you need iron ingots and turn them into iron nuggets on crafting table, now you need tourches and the iron nuggets to make the lanterns. Or you can trade with librarians, and eventually they will trade lanterns for emeralds!!!
Lanterns look very cool. Will have to make a few when I setup my home!

Rabbits are way to labor intensive to kill, depending on what difficulty your on you can use more energy killing them than you get from them. In saying that my combat skills are not going to get me into the Olympics.

Hey. Just watched this. Great job. I think you should keep exploring. If you happen to die it’s an infinite world. You can go the other way. lol. That’s what I do. You’re doing great. Use a boat on the ice. Super fast travel

I’m sorry but I laughed so hard when one of “the drowned” jumped in the boat. Zombies that go underwater are called “drowned and if they have a trident, game over.
You're gonna laugh even more in the next episode where I battle (fail) against a trident wielding drowned or two!
Get a dog armour before the dog die, dog will be invincible with new armour
Maybe not invincible but more resistant xd
Also the sound that you heard are probably guardians which your not equipped enough to handle right now

I take it you are purposely not researching the update for the game. It has changed a lot since early days. You have a couple of new mobs under the water, the noise you Heard was the guardian fish these can zap ⚡ you. The water zombies are called drowns they don't need a temple to spawn. You should re-examine your inventory and dump the junk. Rap carrots in gold nuggets and it's a great food. Rap apples in gold ingots, great for when fighting mobs, gives you 2 extra hearts, time limited.
