Im learning Italian on Duolingo and last year I had an almost 300 day streak but I lost it. When I lost my streak, I lost all my motivation and barely do it anymore 😔
I hope you learn Japanese another way, Duolingo Japanese is a joke. Other language apps are payed but you won’t get much out of Duo unless you just want to learn how to read kanji or something

Wooo! A Chinese learner! I’d just like to say be careful, because as a Chinese person who has friends learning Chinese on duolingo, the pronunciation is really… foreign. But at least understandable! I suggest watch some basic Chinese stuff too! Good luck and don’t worry too much about pronunciation until you have a big vocabulary tho, because even if you say the wrong word sound we can understand, our heads will just hurt more

Ive been working on German for 41 days so far and i feel like people don't realize how fun it actually is. I'm taking german later in highschool and ive been prepping myself with Duolingo and i find myself translating stuff into german or thinking half in german half in English. It's actually a ton of fun and if youre not learning a language you should try it! (The easiest languages would be germanic or romantic languages such as spanish, German, and French because these are the most similar to English.)
Italian learner here for 619 days, and it’s not the most impressive, but I’m still proud! I haven’t only been using duolingo but I’d say it’s my main source of language learning since it’s the only thing I use regularly I often translate things in my daily life, like when I’m thinking about having to go somewhere ill think “voglio andare lì” (I want to go there) and I also have my phone language set to Italian, which is actually really helpful to learn, because now I know words like Impostazioni being Settings and the imperative of a lot of verbs

I speak fluent dutch and french bcs im from belgium .(we learn te 2 in some parts of the country) i actually wanted to learn german with duolingo i did it for 50 days and i almost can speak it fluent because its simular to dutch.ofc i can speak english also fluent idk how i learned it but i just can .and now im also learning spanish.my mok learns me it bcs she can speak fluent spanish.i also can speak basic latin but its a dead languege.so i can speak 3 languages fluent and w 2 languages i know the basics and 1 im learning so thats 6 languages.as a 13 yr old im pretty proud!:)

In my experience best way to learn a new language is to suround yourself with the language. Look for youtube videos, music, tv-shows etc

I use Duolingo, and sometimes I can just understand Italian. I don’t translate it in my head, I just understand it.
