- Lawn Mowing Simulator is finally released, this time we set up our own lawn mowing business, buy our first machine and hire our first employee to cut lawns! I also take my professional lawn mowing experience into the game to see how it holds up!

I think it's ugly as sin.
Been waiting for the full release, have zero intention of purchasing or playing myself, but watching this lawn artist is thrilling for nothing else than to hear him regale us with stories about striping some royal garden in a far off land of the UK while he destroys classic cars.

I landscaped for 3.5 years of my life and I've never seen a half-moon or that manual grass edge trimmer. We used a gas edger, which was basically a weed-whacker with what looked like a mini lawn-mower blade about 20cm long turned to spin sideways. There was also a roller wheel to help guide you along and, of course, a safety guard built in.
It would define sidewalks, pathways, and plant beds like nobody's business.
I agree as a American I never heard of a half moon or a roll wheel.

Nice cuts. Regarding the speed problem with mouse and keyboard, I recommend an Xbox 360 controller. Plug and play on Windows and allows for much smoother driving. I used mine for driving in GTA5.
Edit: Something about the game was bothering me and I figured out it's missing a scythe.
PS4 controller will work too
But i think it would be awesome if he got a wheel to also play car games
How do you make a 360 controller work on Windows? Any time I try to use mine, it just turns my Xbox on lol

I work fertilizer for lawns as my full time right now, but used to work cutting lawns. You boys cutting the lawns keep me in business or make my clients cancel. The tips engy-boi gives are actually real, and he knows his stuff. Props, m8. Been watching since the beginning 5000. You're a legend.

There was an episode in simpsons where bart was playing a game about doing chores, it was meant to be a sarcastic look on how adults see video games as useless, but...
They had a Simpsons episode in the earlier seasons where Bart was playing a game in the mall that involved destroying all the capitals in the US. When he realized that he was learning the names of all the capitals and states that they were a part of he immediately threw the controller at the screen to 'teach the game for teaching him'.

The thing that really gets me about this "Simulator" is that these mowers don't have the reverse cutout, which stops your engine if you go into reverse so you don't mow over your kids (That's how they market it lol). You can turn it off really easily, but just that one control in this game would go a long way to simulate the frustration I feel when I forget to turn my key one notch back, and end up stalling out in the corner of my lawn when I go to reverse out.

It turns out the game does support wheel and pedal inputs!
I mean... the developers would likely make a packet off Mower-styled steering wheel peripherals ^^
i used to cut the lawn when i was young. first a made a track around the house and then me and my neighbours would race in it with either bikes or those toy tractors. was so much fun! new track every week :D
This is me IRL every week of the summer so not sure I need to play this but it was interesting to hear from another engineer that did this professionally. I am not as obsessed with the stripes on my rentals so I cut for maximum efficiency. I use a 54" (137cm) zero turn mower and its a beast of a machine.

I have a tractor mower like that, and i use the zambonie technique when mowing since they take such large turns.

Line trimmer is what we called it at the gardens I worked in. "Strimmer" is a new one for me. Everything else you've mention we also used.

Since you mentioned not liking the keyboard controls a few times, RCE, you can always just wang a controller on there and use the trigger for gas.
A strimmer/weed whacker is generally called a whipper snipper here in Australia, because that was the brand name of the first popular model here.

Heeeey , Landscaper here. That whole circling thing you did for efficiency IS also legimate mowing technique. You DO try to get the curves straightened out

Most mowers will leave stripes even without a roller as they tend to lay the grass down in the direction travelled. The stripes left by the mower I use (an articulated stiga with a mulcher deck very similar to black beauty but yellow) are noticeable but obviously not as defined or crisp as a roller would produce.

I think you can adjust speed gradually by adjusting engine rpm as when you start driving lawnmower off the peräkärry.
