Thank you so much, your work is admirable. The cost of care in general, is what is crazy and must be addressed on the country level .

You are doing so much, we all realize how hard it is to get this bill done and over with. it is too bad that our government can't work together instead of like kids, hoping for the best but reality sets in that won't see it happen. Have a wonderful Chrittmas and New year. God Bless.

I've been getting a mini civics lesson ever since the House passed this bill, but high school civics was never this stressful.

thank you shawn for all the hard and dedicated work you do for us. i realize how frustrating getting all these issues taken care of can be. i am trying to understand how these things work and how these benefit retirees like myself. it can be confusing but i think i am learning little by little with these presentations you give us. thank you again, merry christmas to you and a prosperous happy new year!

Haven't been able to find a Denist that takes this Ohio Metlife, really for retirees they need a good dental plan. Retired from State of Ohio in 2014. Can't hardly keep up. I exsist and thats about it. Inflation really has got me good. Ohio has VIA, and blessed for that,I should be doing great!

I actually have a question to ask on my mothers behalf because neither her or I really understand how all this works....Basically She would like to know if the repeal of WEP/GPO were to go through would that mean she would be able receive my deceased fathers SS benefits which were denied to her because of her own pension/ss? For both of us this is all very confusing. This would bring some much needed financial relief to her and I am really just trying to undestand all this. Thank you for any clarification in advance.

Just to add the little I do understand mainly is she would fall under the GPO portion of the bill but im not sure how that effects her issue with my father's benefits if that is included because she was the state worker and father just received pension/ss but because hers was a larger sum his got cut out. To be honest I am kind of embarassed that I don't know more about these issues.

Good morning. I have good news for your mom. The answer to her question is yes. If the Government Pension Offset law (GPO) is repealed, then should would receive your dad's Social Security benefit from that point forward. She would receive the benefit that she should have received. Our hope is that HR82 is passed by the Senate before they end their business for the year. We'll know more as today unfolds.
