No car will ever take the place of the S class. Most people who drive something like this could easily drive any or every one of the mentioned cars... people choose the S Class because it's perceived to be the best and in most cases it is and it conveys a message, to others, about the people driving it that no other car does. It is refined, restrained and luxurious and in the AMG variant will blow the doors off most anyting and now they go around corners...
Don't worry my friend. If you want an S63 work hard and we'll get one.I've been driving MB products since I was 7. Raised in Germany. So true "The Best or Nothing"Currently I have two S-Classes and an E
I'm in Northern Virginia. I currently drive the S, E and GLS Class. I would choose the S63. After a year of owning my current S Class, I still get joy when I drive it.
The S Class is superior to its competitors, plainly put, because it combines what the two other competitors have to offer and puts it in one package. The Panamera is sportier, sure. The Lexus is a more plush in ride, sure. However, it takes the two cars to offer what the S Class provides.
Excellent review as always! Have a W221 S600 and an AMG C63 Edition 507 and love to drive both - but when it comes to comfort, refinement and relaxation there is nothing to compare with an S class. Many competitors trying to copy but the S class will always stay ahead of the crowd.
While BMW’s 7 series and others you mention continue to try and step ahead of the MB S class, the one other distinctive difference we continue to see is the S class cockpit styling. Arguably, while the competition maintains straight lines thru-out the cabin, MB mixes it up with combinations of both straight and curvy lines thru-out the entire cockpit and cabin. In my opinion, this eye appeal adds much to the ambiance and driving experience that isn’t felt in any other vehicle in this class.
Merc S 63 and 65 allllllllllllllllllllll the way i owned merc 300 SE and E class 2008...i drove all cars and nothing elegant like the Mercs Saudi Arabia
I have never had any of those car, but I would love to have a 911 turbo one day, but I would go for the S63. I live in the UK, and I own a 1986 D reg series 3 Jaguar/Daimler a 5.4L V12 Daimler Double Six Vanden Plas a very rear car, and when you drive it you feel like a king, and people love it and give you respect on the road.
Without a doubt, the new benchmark of the luxury sedan segment is called LS 500. The pinnacle of craftsmanship and artisanship by the LEXUS TEAM. Unmatched and unparalleled attention to detail, the overall value and, it goes without saying, the reliability, the resale value, the lowest level of depreciation over the years and maintenance costs make the LS 500 the undisputed leader. To top all the aforementioned pros off, our entire LEXUS TEAM was able to accomplish the very hard task, which is to be able to balance the famous LEXUS vehicle trademarks, such as reliability, a supremely smooth, plush, serene, whisper quiet ride, with impressive handling, fun to drive feel, all while making the vehicle's design look instantaneously appealing. Gone are the days of LEXUS vehicles being boring. Moreover, if anyone thinks that this is all the LEXUS TEAM has to offer, they could not be more wrong. There is much more excitement to come from our LEXUS TEAM in the coming years.
S63, that's the choice. Not going to go to look for videos of whatever else you mentioned. Driving a new black LTZ Suburban. I'll likely buy a 2018 S63 with 14,000 miles for about $100,000. I buy whatever I want when have the cash to buy otherwise I do not buy. I use leverage as a tool to make money and then I buy stuff with cash. GREAT REVIEWS! Full stop.
I have S Class and it Rocks. In India it is the epitome of luxury and nobody even compares LS 500 or Panemara to S Class. Both LS500 and Porsche are sold here but annual sales of these two stays in double digits. S Class has been & shall always be. the KING.
I wish those screens had more of a matte finish rather then a glossy finish so it would wash up on glare and make it easier to see. I’ve sat in a couples classes at the dealership and it can be hard to see the right most screen sometimes. Didn’t have any issues with the center gauge cluster, but when you look over the sun can sometimes give you s bit of glare. However, this is an unbelievable car!
To answer your Question: S63/ AMG is a Class of its own although a Porsche Panamera Turbo S competes in terms of Performance and Price It doesn't offer a the Luxury and elegance that the S class and S63 Amg exudes. ( IMO Mercedes offers a Perfect equilibrium between style, performance, luxury, quality and reliability and technology ) BMW and Porsche and Lexus offer Products but the none of them do all about the above in perfect proportions. I Currently own a 06' M35X 09'Genesis 4.6, 13' Lexus GX460 and 15' Mercedes E63 AMG-S with the ( M157) V8 5.5 Bi-turbo
I am interested in the AMG GT 4 door , that seems to be the ticket for me, Panamera hybrid with 680 hp , right now. In a few years I will get the s class
You can pick a scent out of five different mixes. Just pick the one u like. Its very nice. I rank the Panamera sport turismo on top. Then the S class next to it and the Ls behind. Saudi Arabia/ Virginia.
I love the Panamera Sport Turismo. I think I would choose it although I love MB. The Lexus is striking, but maybe not for me. I'm 32 years old and single, Latino living in the USA. I like to stand out and I think the Sport Turismo is going to be very rare and even more so since I live in Michigan where you see more local cars.
I believe that If you are paying over $50K for a vehicle, then you are paying for how the vehicle makes you feel.....as for me....Mercedes S-class makes me feel like a king...no other car company can change that.
Can i haz an M760Li xDrive V12 Excellence instead? Please? Word has it the 760 will join the Viper up in car heaven next year. M, I have a question, did the folks from Stuttgart mention anything about the S600? I can't find anything regarding it, there's the S65 & the new Maybach S650 with the same full fat AMG V12, but nothing about a "regular" S class with a V12. Is it in car heaven already? Or arriving fashionably late? As always, excellent work M.
I would still chose the S-class, but the interior of the Lexus was one of maybe three cars I have ever seen that has come close to bringing me to tears. Also, it has an N/A engine.
To answer your question - would I want the fragrance thing in a luxury car? Hell yes. And I think we are only scraping the surface of where this concept could go. Add more fragrance ingredients and make the smellz more dynamic / react to the environment.
Out of the three cars I would end up with a Mercedes. The Lexus just dosnt interest me, the Panamera is the best looking car but it lacks the brutality that the s63 has. A family member of mine drives an s63 as his daily, and I've experienced the brutality it presents, but also the luxuary you expect from an S-class.
I’m still s class I love that’s Mercedes Benz will still build it with a V12 engine even though that’s not the one your review I think that’s still awesome . And I’ve had 3 s classes in the past 86 560 SEL, 90 300 SEL, and a 95 S500 however there is one thing that I like in the older Mercedes Benz that I wish they had in there’s new cars I think Mercedes Benz should break them up for all the cars that are not Amg or at least give the customer the option to have the gear shifter in the center console that’s the only thing in an Amg model it def is a much more sporty approach than on a stalk
The best sporty expensive sedan you can get is an M5 its the fastest sedan its comfortable enough massage seats everything. In fact its as luxurious as an s class or 7 series in the front seats it only lacks the back seats but lets be honest you don't bye a 600hp car to be driven around. But still that S class an absolute beast.
S560, especially the amg and maybach is the king of luxury. The only thing better than these cars are Rollys Royce in terms of luxury, and that’s nearly double the price
Personally out of the three I would choose the pan. Simply because as a man in my early thirties the other two seem a little more stuffy to me and not something I could see myself in as a daily driver almost a little bit too sophisticated. I myself own a Tesla model x 100D
Currently own an a 2013 Audi S8, 2017 Audi Q7 & a 2020 C8 Corvette. I’m considering a 2019-2020 S63 coupe or sedan to replace the S8. The Panamera Sport Turismo is a great drive....I think, but doesn’t have the luxury appeal of the S63. The new S8 is ugly. The new LS 500 is a V6 turbo. Luxury yes, but no performance. Back to the S63. Sedan or the beautiful coupe?
Seriously test drive 2017 Audi S8 plus, not saying the S63 is bad by any measure. But these two require a detailed comparison......4.0 twin turbo 605hp vs 4.4amg 603hp
Honestly I've been looking at the Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive and even the "AMG" styled E 400 4Matic Cabriolet. The conflict I have is I've owned new Mercedes since 1985, I'm 54, and I've been purchasing a couple Mercedes biannually since the late 80's after being married. I currently own a S 550 Cabriolet, GLE 43 and my youngest daughter a GLK 350. So why the change? This Mini-Me approach of Mercedes is frankly is a gut punch at least to me. When 99% of the people can't tell the difference, at twice the price I must say, between cars and even I have to sit there and think ... it's making people out the fool. I've owned several S Classes over the years a couple SL's a laundry list. The S Class Cabriolet often just sits in the garage like a 3rd car (rarely used toy) when we go out, the back seat is effectively useless, maybe if it were a long body S Class it would be different. The most used cars are my 4 doors and in particular SUVs. Heck I even thought about another Navigator which was a family favorite. If you're a self-centered kind of person .. I understand the toys, but for even a family man with even grown up children and friends some level of practicality. I'm also sick of seeing people buying cars they truly can't afford or look ridiculous in. A little judgy there I know. Good luck in your channel.
I would take the panamera not the turismo one.I’d the panamera because it can go head to head with the S63 in luxury but it can also go on the racetrack. The other two cars you cannot do that.
Price not an option, fully loaded Porsche all day. I'm going to drive the thing after all. Price a factor, LS 500 all day. Value and reliability. Currently driving an STS-V.
My friend, with great respect, Lexus must have slipped you a mickey when they lent you an LS. It's unrefined 6 cyl strains to power the heavy, heavy LS. And it ain't fun thrashing that 6. And when did the LS ride get so brittle? An MB E300 with 4 cyl is more refined and comfortable than the LS.
I drive a Prius but also have 2 other cars. I commute a lot and think the Prius is a God-send. I appreciate cars but not everyone can afford a 160,000 dollar car
The only car I would take over an S-Class AMG is a Bentley Flying Spur S (V8); but I wouldn't take the Bentley Flying Spur S because of the price & performance factors. For the price, the Mercedes Benz gives us way more 'schlagen' for the 'das Zahlungsmittel...'
The S class is really nice on the inside but the Lexus, I feel, has the most when it come to priding my artisanal desires. The Porsche is nice but, it’s not as nice as the Lexus or the Mercedes.
I can't say that I like the mat finish and black wheels. But beside that this MB is too large for my taste. But then again I don't have the $ for it either.
Probably the ls to be honest. If I wanted a big luxo car i wouldnt want a “sporty” one. That I’ll just get a second car. Lexus reliability. And like you said. 1/2 price!
If I were being gifted one of the three, it would be the Panamera in a heartbeat. Just a much better combination of luxury and sporting dynamics than this beast. If I were using my own money to buy one of the three - and planned to keep it beyond a short term lease - it would be the Lexus in a heartbeat. Because lol and German 'reliability'.
I'm Sudanese I living D.C. I love Panamera turbo S so much because it's fun to drive appreciation better than s class , but s class is the killer specially anterior especially with that of the Apple play oh God so I go with S63 , Toyota Ls500 ?? No thanks i'd rather drive a Honda Accord same thing lol .
Panamera is a better car. Panamera all day. If you like to feel the road and participate in spirited driving go with the Porsche. If you like pure comfort and numb driving go with the Benz. They really are 2 different animals.
Hell yeah, I'd use the automizing perfume feature in this car while I use the seat massage. Why wouldn't I use that luxury feature when you can claim that as a huge bragging right when conversing with your rich friends? What other car is able to make that claim? That would be a huge selling point for me cause I love to smell good with aroma therapy as I bask in luxury as a relaxaholic.
Panamera it looks good, but it is not in the same universe with the s class. s class is way better. Panamera is just very expensive. I own a M5 competition LCI 2021.
No doubt it is a wonderful car but I wouldn't buy S63 because it defeats the purpose. Mercedes S is for comfort and if I want a faster car, I would go for something like E63 or even C63. I own S550 and it is fast enough for what it is and very comfortable. It needs nothing for what it is built for. :)
Totally agreed.
Absolutely true
Couldn't have said it any better myself!
You took the words right out of my mouth....
S63 all day ..the best or nothing , that's why I have nothing right now..
Basem Basta exactly ‼️‼️ people tell me to settle for a bullshit Honda... nah I will work my ass to a get a S63. THE BEST OR NOTHING.
Say that again my brother!!
Don't worry my friend. If you want an S63 work hard and we'll get one.I've been driving MB products since I was 7. Raised in Germany. So true "The Best or Nothing"Currently I have two S-Classes and an E
“The best or nothing”
Basem Basta Ever heard of a Rolls Royce Ghost? The S63 is like your 2004 Corolla compared to the Ghost.
I love the Panamera, but the S class is still king. USA
Elton Elzee I love the Panamera. This is stately, I think the Panamera is sporty sexiness.
Both of them are incredible. I’ll take em both
I'm in Northern Virginia. I currently drive the S, E and GLS Class. I would choose the S63. After a year of owning my current S Class, I still get joy when I drive it.
The S-Class is still the most driven car by head of states and no other car can match that reputation.
I've driven the S-Class. Nothing compares to it in presence both inside and out.
BMW is better inside and definitely outside
I drive a 2011 S550 for the last 7 years.
Best car I ever owned and driven.
The S Class is superior to its competitors, plainly put, because it combines what the two other competitors have to offer and puts it in one package. The Panamera is sportier, sure. The Lexus is a more plush in ride, sure. However, it takes the two cars to offer what the S Class provides.
That Gliding Mode really comes handy when your gas-light illuminates and there are no pumps around. Anxiety is awesome!
Excellent review as always! Have a W221 S600 and an AMG C63 Edition 507 and love to drive both - but when it comes to comfort, refinement and relaxation there is nothing to compare with an S class. Many competitors trying to copy but the S class will always stay ahead of the crowd.
I would pick the S-Class but a different engine: The S560 with 469 HP. No AMG optics and more than enough power. It's also $50k cheaper than this one.
Great video! I like how this is way more personal and honest than other reviewers
While BMW’s 7 series and others you mention continue to try and step ahead of the MB S class, the one other distinctive difference we continue to see is the S class cockpit styling. He hit the nail on the head. I do like convertables. That white car in the beginning was awesome
I’m a simple man, I see MotomanTV (all one word) and AMG, I click LIKE
MotoMan on the E63s will be the bomb episode
Merc S 63 and 65 allllllllllllllllllllll the way
i owned merc 300 SE and E class 2008...i drove all cars and nothing elegant like the Mercs
Saudi Arabia
S CLASS or bust, its the best car ever. I have a S500 Coupe, the best car I ever drove!
By the way the Automizer is GREAT too!
Absolutely unique reviewer. Well done!
Hard to listen to anyone else after you see this guy.
s63 the car just gives me that gangster badass feel. USA
The S63. I currently drive an '10 S550 after owning a '07 750li. I was a tried and true Bimmer guy, but love my Benz.
I have never had any of those car, but I would love to have a 911 turbo one day, but I would go for the S63. Love the popping & crackling sound
S63, that's the choice. Not going to go to look for videos of whatever else you mentioned. Driving a new black LTZ Suburban. I'll likely buy a 2018 S63 with 14,000 miles for about $100,000. In India it is the epitome of luxury and nobody even compares LS 500 or Panemara to S Class.
Both LS500 and Porsche are sold here but annual sales of these two stays in double digits.

The S-Class. The Best or Nothing.
Gees that suspension movement - 👍

S63 for me :). Luxury, comfort and engine summer and very Canadian winter. Not that I’m biased with my C63S :p
I am interested in the AMG GT 4 door , that seems to be the ticket for me, Panamera hybrid with 680 hp , right now. In a few years I will get the s class
I have too much lust for the S63 coupe to consider anything else. Especially so the refresh.
Really torn between getting either this AMG or the new Kia Sephia....Help!!
You can pick a scent out of five different mixes. Just pick the one u like. Its very nice.
I rank the Panamera sport turismo on top. Then the S class next to it and the Ls behind. Saudi Arabia/ Virginia.
S63 I would choose, definitely the benchmark of luxury sedans.
L500, for price for the luxury, reliability, and comfort. I don’t own a luxury sedan, but would like to in the future!
And, I own a AMG GTC and C43. And yes, I've driven the LS and S63, at length.
Is the color iridium silver?
S class, I love everything about that car and no, I don't own one.
i love the tech inside Mercedes Benz !
The S Class hands downs, Porsche was never meant to be a front engine sedan and Lexus LOL
Very nice car, but the backseat entertainment is kinda overkill, with that said this is one exciting car!
I believe that If you are paying over $50K for a vehicle, then you are paying for how the vehicle makes you feel.....as for me....Mercedes S-class makes me feel like a king...no other car company can change that.
I would pick an Ls 500 F Sport over any S class!
The S63 is still 🔥. However, the LS500 is running a very close second. I personally have never been a Volkswagen(Porche) fan.
In a way if you only had to choose 1 car this could be your corvette and rolls Royce all in one!!
To answer your question - would I want the fragrance thing in a luxury car?
Hell yes. And I think we are only scraping the surface of where this concept could go. Add more fragrance ingredients and make the smellz more dynamic / react to the environment.
This is the second time I found part 2 bummer
Synchronisity. Go for three out of three! ;-)

Disappointed you didn't compare it to the B7 considering how much you liked it. Much closer competition if you ask me...
Currently own an a 2013 Audi S8, 2017 Audi Q7 & a 2020 C8 Corvette. I’m considering a 2019-2020 S63 coupe or sedan to replace the S8. I choose the LS, I put my trust on their long term realiblity. My 2009 gs300 is still rockin solid, compare it to the other 2009 brands.
when it comes to reliability lexus is KING!
Honestly I've been looking at the Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive and even the "AMG" styled E 400 4Matic Cabriolet. Good luck in your channel.
The maserati quattroporte gts beats them all in my opinion...i own one and it is the most fun to drive of all the sedans and just feels special
Robert Comella you don’t even believe tht yourself buddy..the Maserati is overrated bullshit n you know it!! Drive the S class n you’ll see for yaself
I would take the panamera not the turismo one.I’d the panamera because it can go head to head with the S63 in luxury but it can also go on the racetrack. The other two cars you cannot do that.

Currently driving an STS-V.
The S-Class for sure!! Lexus not even close the Porsche some what, but the Porsche is the least attractive on the outside (all versions) Detroit,MI
First 8 seconds, God damn right!
I'd have to... nah i willingly choose the S. I don't own one but I'd like to own one sooner than later.
My vote is for the S63.4Matic It's fasterBryan here from Augusta Ga. Home of the Godfather of Soul James Brown.I'm also a current owner of a 2015 S63
The Panamera Sport Tourismo Turbo, because it’s a Porsche. I live in Canada
Social justice warrior and s63 lover checking in!!!
Definitely the Mercedes
I would pick the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid; & live in the states.
I drive a Prius but also have 2 other cars. I commute a lot and think the Prius is a God-send. I appreciate cars but not everyone can afford a 160,000 dollar car
Answer to the first question in the video, you got that right.
Abid Niaz I'd choose a S63 over the LS though
Lexus?!!! Blasphemy. 😐 it's a Toyota bruh. Stop the bs.
That convertible has more horsepower than a WW2 U-Boat imagine that.
1/2 price!
Will take the S63 in all black over the other two any day. Thailand.
Mercedes S63 OMG! They should change the badge.
Mercedes Benz = The New York Yankees of automobiles!
Pee Wee do great reviews!!!😂😂🤣 Go Pee Wee(lol joke)
My dream car... I have a 1998 w140 s430 and i just love it.. But dam this baby here looks sexy as mine!
NEVER OBEY keep hold of it. Ull regret it if u sell it.
This curve tilting thing is called: Wankstabilisierung 🤓
I'm Sudanese I living D.C. I love Panamera turbo S so much because it's fun to drive appreciation better than s class , but s class is the killer specially anterior especially with that of the Apple play oh God so I go with S63 , Toyota Ls500 ?? No thanks i'd rather drive a Honda Accord same thing lol .
I'll easily take BMW Alpina B7 or Lexus LS 500...so smooth and luxurious over this
Panamera is a better car.
Dont care the 63 does it to 60 faster. The 12 is smoother, and will toast the 63 in a passing move. Thats why id throw down for a 65 12 banger.
$398,400.00 AUD Drive Away without any accessories (i.e standard) for a S63 in Australia....
Australia, S63amg all day long
Panamera Turbo SE Sport Turismo in crayon please.
piquetuk crayon? You mean chalk?
I believe they are the same colour but for different markets, on the UK configurator it's called Crayon.
what about new Audi A8?
