As some one who has successfully sniped against bugs before the sniper buffs I have some observations. You move around a lot. Your constantly repositioning and its throwing off your aim. The faster you want to shoot the closer to the ground you need to be. Going prone removes the majority of the recoil allowing you to make smoother shots. Going prone also has the benefit of making you harder to detect. Unless they are right on top of the bugs won't be able to see you if your prone. They will only be able to hear your shots. Enemies will prioritize the first helldiver they see over everything else. So if they see your squad mates before you then you can make as much noise as you want and they will ignore you for the most part. You should constantly be looking for good vantage points to plant yourself in. The less time you spend moving around the more time you have to make your shots. Distance is also your friend. Marksman rifles are good well beyond 200 meters. As long as your allies are in eye sight you should be able to cover them. Don't be afraid to adjust the scope to make longer shots. changing the zoom can make things easier at certain ranges. You rely too much on your primary. Between that and your constant moving you burn through a lot of ammo. I recommend packing a quick crowd control stratagem like eagle strafe, gatling barrage or orbital gas to thin our larger groups to save ammo. Ideally you'd run jetpack with sniper for the mobility and height advantage. Jetpack gets you all the good vantage points, but I understand why your using supply pack. I normally take a general use support weapon like the stalwart, AMR or laser cannon to take some of the ammo burden off my primary. For anti tank I run eagle rockets, orbital railgun or precision strike. I feel the combo if sniper, generalist support weapon and anti tank eagle or orbital gives you more flexibility in how you approach combat. Turrets and mines are also great for snipers because they draw aggro and snipers can take advantage of that. 60% accuracy is pretty good and the rest of your game play is solid. Just need to curb your enthusiasm to be on the front lines. Let your team do more of the heavy lifting. Your sniper support. You don't need to be in the fight if your bullets are.
Was going to say more or less the same. I love the D-CS for bot missions because the pace of engagements tends to be slower, but also because it gives you the edge that a lot of the time the bots have, which is range. But everything with bugs is just... Faster. Everything turns to shit faster and I've been killed by this rifle's limited capacity
Try using the "Peak Physique" armors with the CS. Makes aiming much much more easier for bug missions. The added melee bonus helps you fend of jumpy/small bugs to save ammo. Good video overal. Nice gameplay.
so theoretically it is SUPPOSED to one shot hunters, but their hitboxes are a little screwey sometimes and what should register as a hit will only do stagger animation, but the health itself wont be affected. It's essentially a 'invalid' hit. It often affects weapons with larger 'projectile' sizes. I've even heard of occasions of the slugger getting an invalid hit if you hit the back during one of their specific strafe animations
Hunter legs have their own healthpool, only a percentage of the damage is translated to their main health, and loosing a leg for them isn't fatal like a charger, it just slows them down. Do you don't need a headshot (which has very little damage needed), you just need at least a body shot. It's just that now 2 leg shots will kill them, not sure about before, but a single body shot Wouldn't kill them. Not sure if it's been updated since the big patch, but the helldivers wiki has good datamined stats on enemies, to at least give you an idea of how they function and what the parts are.
It doesn't matter how you got the kills, if I'm playing with you, you're saving my ass" so yeah, great job and video. PS, I love the commentary on the weapons performance as you play the game, because it's real time versus a singled-out demonstration.
DCS + auto pistol or flame secondary + commando or quasar cannon + supply or jump pack, then orbital napalm or rail + any eagle = all your grounds and all your teammates backs are covered arc thrower is also an amazing gun with how easy it can drop hordes because of the stagger mechanic
Nr1 tip, don't use long range weapons in night-time or stormy areas due to low visibility. Spore spewers can be shot down on the other hand, so those don't count.
What? That thing has always been good not so much for bugs but for bots it was already a beast one tap headshots all day on everything from heavy destroyers down and if you actually hit weak spots it does alot better of a job. Now that things amazing especially vs bots. For bugs there's just much better choices.
after watching your video on using laser cannon, looks like quasar cannon is way better in efficiently kill bile titan, charger, impaler, basically the big bois

I think dmg to hunters is bugged, they sometimes get hit but don't get damaged, weapons that are supposed to kill them in 1 shot seem to do no dmg half the time.

Hey just saying your comment just nails so much of the flaws in my gameplay ! I'll try following your advice.
Thank you for this comment brother
This guy knows.
I do alot of the same although i run Recoilless and the 'Uzi' as secondary.
Works wonders with a little correct positioning.
How do they fare against the bots? Is it better since bots are far less agile?

I know this sounds weird but I like it when u talk it makes the vid more interesting just like Ohdough. Pls keep doing what ur doing! 😃
Totally agree. I like hearing the explanation of your actions.
Doug is not a great example, Takibo is tho…
6:45 that little bug was breaking it down on the battlefield 😂

Note: Hunters 1 tap to body (not limbs)
Warriors 1 tap headshot.

god bless U2, man was super communicative and exactly what you want in your squad :)
The sniper rifles are the only primary i shy away from, not patient enough with them. Great game though, I'll be brave and try again next session!

It's the drag that makes you miss your shot. Try an armor with peak physique and you will notice the difference

I think you can body one-shot hunters from like 20 meters and closer, after that the dmg drop-off make you use more.
You clearly put the wrong crop of the patch notes in your thumbnail. I'm just putting that out there in case it was an oversight.
that’s the right one?

This weapon is not against bugs, but against robots!
With the amount of fog and visual obstructions in this game I would rather have the breaker since it got its big magazine back

DCS shreds against Bots. It can damage almost anything
anybody knows what graphics setting he is on?
Always was viable. Was my primary for months against bots.
I seriously dont know what "durable damage" means.
i've seen 5 impaler at the same time on a mega nest, that was not a good experience

You might be hitting those hunters in the limbs, different hp pool compared to its head/torso
Not different hp pool as the limbs hp is linked to the main hp. Limbs only transfer a portion of damage to main hp.
Hunters are so inconsistent. Sometimes one shot. Sometimes tanky af.
how is sniper on bots?
it’s fine, but other options are better. i’d probably just take the regular diligence
It's great for bots. The medium penetration one can even damage the walkers.
