I know what you mean. I used to dance, on several companies plus co-founded my own all female dance crew, and I taught several studios, but after being married for ten years and having two kids, plus having health troubles that include several surgeries, I have been a social shut in. I’ve literally separated myself from all family and friends and now have total anxiety and panic attacks about rejoining the world and being social again. It’s as if all the experience I have means nothing at all now. I have taken steps starting exercising again daily, and have reached out to my family again, well my Mom and sister at least, and aside from YT and Reddit I’m fearful of even rejoining social media again after a decade of being off of all social pages. I want to start back taking dance classes again, and I watch things like this to get my courage up and then when it’s time to go, my intrusive thoughts set in and I panic and back out. It’s quite fascinating how powerful the mind can be, on both ends of extremes- positive or negative. I have to learn how to give myself some leeway and work up to things slowly and not be so upset at myself for not being all the way ready at times. Much love xoxo
