Babylon 5 Data Files - Babylon 1-4

The Babylon Project was a development of the Earth Alliance that began in 2248, shortly after the resolution of the Earth-Minbari War. The project's goal was to prevent future wars by providing Humans and aliens neutral territory to settle their differences peacefully. The first four Babylon stations ended in disaster during construction or shortly after coming online.

Listen, lad! We built this station up from nothin'! When we started here, all there was was space! Well, the Minbari said it was daft to build a station in neutral space, but we built it all the same, just to show 'em!
It blew up. So! We built another two. They blew up. So we built a fourth one. That one disappeared, reappeared, disappeared, reappeared, disappeared, reappeared, and then burned up, but the fifth one went operational!

When I first came here, this was all space. Everyone said I was daft to build a station in space, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It exploded. So I build a second one. And that one exploded too. I build a third, that one exploded too. So I build a fourth. That spontaneously blinked out of existence. But then the fifth one stayed up.

Yea they should have just taken Babylon 5 back in time after it became redundant.
