Also, the game is pretty cheesy at some points and that is by design. They often play with horror movie tropes and have archetypal characters from horror movies and that is pretty fun. Also, the facial animations for the characters often don't make it out of the uncanny valley

I have played until dawn using headphones and it aint scary at all but outlast 1 and 2 oh my God I started shivering like hell even when the temperature of the room is moderate
The thing you said about "oh that's funny because you didn't like it when she took your phone", that was the entire point and why he did it. He even said he learnt it from her. The things the characters do while you're not controlling them are learnt behaviors about how they interact with each other and how their friendships function, that they've picked up from you.

After watching dozens of playthrough of this game, I must say that she's made really unique decisions during the Dr.Hill sections.
I wish there were more games like this. Slow game story driven with consequences. I really enjoy the playthrough and other people just as confused as I was. And the random, jump scare is always fun.

The beginning is kind of slow, building up to things. You'll see. The pace picks up kinda quickly at one point-- oh, and so do the quick time events. mwahahahaha. Oh, and congrats on 2000+ followers.
So, only two years back she had reached 2000+ followers and now she has close to 500,000. Wow, that's great. I'll be subscribing now, too. This is the first video of hers I've seen and I like it.
A lot of the cast in this game are pretty well known actors, especially the old guy giving you tests. I just came from watching Mr. Robot which the main character is played by Rami Malek, he plays Josh here.
Toby Dion Mike is from agents of shield. Sam is Hayden panettiere. Ashley played Gwen in the live action ben 10 movies.
Sam is from a tv show called Heros and the movie Scream 4. i know the doctor was in Prison break and Fargo.

I wanted to fly home for the Christmas break but it would have cost me over $1000. And for a period of 3 weeks, it's wouldnt be worth it. So instead i'm stuck here on campus for the break. I was bummed at first, but now I have your videos to look forward to over the break. You've been uploading at an incredible rate, and I really love that.
This game is definitely a good pick for your next game. I'm just glad it wasnt TWD because i've seen way too many people play that game. You we're worrying about ruining it for yourself when you went into the menu with "The Twins" "1952", etc. You dont have to worry. It's just an area where you can go back and read all of the clues that you've collected in the game. In fact, it's encouraged for you to go back and read the clues as it can help you put together pieces of the story. And just as TLoU had a feature that allowed you to view just the text of your collectibles (for easier reading), this game also has a feature in the "R1" menu for you to read the info on your clues easier.
Looking forward to the next video. I just wish you werent cheating by playing this game during the day :)

Aha, now this game I finished a long time ago so can watch properly. Am excited for it as well, its a fun game, with a lot of interesting talking points for you to make observations about. The best kind of game to LP. Last of Us was also on sale where I am, so I managed to pick that up too.

Fear of the dark, awh, this game has a lot of dark areas... thankfully none of my fears made in it the game, (blind leprechauns with disproportionately tiny and gross hands) my little sister though has a fear of butterflies, which are only a little more common.

It's been awhile since I played Until Dawn, but I don't remember it being TOO scary. Most of the scares were from jump scares. My first play thought I think I ended up with one dead because of the quick time events so I know your fear when it comes to those! I hope you have better luck than I did. A hint would be to try and explore as much as you can, pick up as many items as you can and examine them.

Yeah, I liked her Let's Plays the first video I saw.
She has that special successful UA-camr combination of intelligence and sense of humor, along with honesty, and great reactions to all the funny, and scary, sights and sounds. Not to mention obviously being incredibly cute, and having a nice on-air voice.
After finishing The Last Guardian, I really enjoyed watching her playthrough.

One thing: the totems aren't there just for flavor, it's very important to find and pay close attention to what they show (one color in particular). While the game rewards you for being both rational and observant, there are also gonna be times when the best course of action simply cannot be deduced or inferred from events as they unfold. That's when the totems come into play. If at any point you find yourself saying "well, there's no way I coulda known THAT," chances are you missed a totem. G'luck! XD
Yes, the yellow ones are called GUIDANCE totems for a reason...
The totems are 100% there "just for flavor." They're useless except to make a movie. After half a dozen gameplays, they are the one thing other than relationships that could have been dropped from the game.

Yes, he has played in many movie roles. The one that really struck his performance was when he played as Satan in that cool movie CONSTANTINE with my boy Keanu Reeves.

I’m definitely not sure about them, but if my friend invited me to his parent’s resort cabin for a party I’d be that person who definitely asks why all the lights are off and or not working. They’re all just chilling in the living room in the pitch black during winter with no questions what so ever as to what’s going on with the electricity.
Loving the play through so far! Nothing like blind playthroughs of this game, so much fun! I also wanted to say something I've noticed from this part of the game is the part where Emily says she has to go to see Sam, every single woman has caught on to her, and no guy has. Fooled me! I just found that interesting in general. Anyway, gonna continue watching!

So excited your playing this game! ❤️Here’s a couple Tips, if your interested! Spoiler-Free Tips/Hints(Non Spoilers of course)⬇️
•At the menu at ‘Status and Collectables’ you can find all your Clues, and read exactly what they say and what they are!
•Every time you see ‘Status Updated’ or ‘Butterfly Effect Updated’ press R1 to see how your choices have changed the character’s relationships, personality, and See at the ‘Butterfly Effect’ see the choices you made, and how each choice has a subsequent consequence
•Search Everywhere! There are clues everywhere, and totems (which I’m pretty sure, some you can’t go back for, a couple you can, but some you won’t get to return to, you’ve already missed one, which is understandable, Everyone misses that one, playing the first time!)
•If you care for the storyline, and what’s going on, take the time to fully read the clues! Even if you have to edit some of your reading out, the story is worth taking the extra couple minutes to appreciate the story!
• Next time at the Totem Collection, Press Triangle to see the little movie thing, about the Past, it gets longer, the more you collect totems!
•Get the same choices twice in a row? It’s the game telling you, are you sure you want to go with the previous choice? Hinting to you, you might want to reconsider!

Since Marz already finished this game, I don't really agree with this tip at all. I actually believe the game does this to make you think you are making the wrong choice when, more often than not, you are not. I can think of a few instances. Like when Marz killed Chris because she decided she wanted to shoot the gas canister instead of shooting the Wendigo for the second time (a TON of people kill Chris because they fall for this and try to hit the canister, but because it's too far away, they don't have enough time to click on it). A lot of people also kill Mike at the end because they choose to run instead of hiding twice. You can also kill Jessica if you don't choose to hide twice in a row in the mines. I've seen people make a ton of mistakes in this game because of this, so I really think these choices showing up twice in a row are more of a trap than anything else. Unless I'm missing some instances where that actually applies. The only one I'm remembering is with Matt and Emily, if you choose to save Emily twice, Matt dies if he doesn't have the flare gun.

There's an option to read the clues with a clear text (must be near the subtitles), that make them appear transcribed in the right side of the screen. Either that, or what other user said about hitting R1 and reading the clues, that way or the other or both, u should review them if u don't wanna miss information.

The Therapist is played by a well-known actor named Peter Stormare. He was in Fargo, Fast and the Furious, and Constantine.

The psychiatrist bit around the 50:50 mark is great if you look back and forth between Marz and Dr Hill and pretend its an actual meeting. Marz' reactions are perfect for someone who'd be facing off against Dr Hill and his antics. :)

No, that game was not that great. Picking shitty games just because you think it will scare her but the few jump scares still does not make it an exciting game to watch a person play. Resident Evil would be a reasonable suggestion. But alien isolation was disappointing. I prefer her to play story driven games anyways like Beyond Two Souls or Wolf Amongst Us.

SourStrawberrys - Are you sure you played Alien Isolation? It didn't have many jump scares at all. It was mostly just the setting and mood of the game being ominous and scary. Resident Evil, on the other hand, was full of jump scare moments, and otherwise not too scary. And story-wise, Alien was far superior (provided you're familiar with the movies, esp. the 1st one), and Resident Evil was a touch ridiculous.
Maybe it's just a matter of personal opinion, but I think you got it completely backwards.

The game is so fun bcuz of the decision making and the ability to save all or no one in this game. honestly if it was any other game except this i wouldn't have watch it at all bcuz scary games are just not fun to play also usually have bad story but this game is actually really good.

My advice is to play with the controller and hands resting on the knees.
This way you can do the Quick Events and at the same time be steady if a Don't Move Event appears.

Hi there Marz!!! I'm new on your channel, actually I have just find it and I can't resist to watch some until dawn because back when I first played it I totally love it. It's so fun and I hope you can continue it. By the way, sorry if I am not writing so good but I'm not English so... hahaha
After watching you play god of war, ive decided im gonna watch most or all of the games youve played, plus its funny to see you panic lol.
And so begins the journey of Emily. One of the most hated characters in recent video game memory.
The game has a slow start. The first 3 or 4 chapters can drag at times. And, it get's cheesy in parts, especially with the dialogue, but just keep in mind that the basic premise is like an 80's horror movie, with every cliche attached to it that you'd expect.
Don't stress the totems. They open up a movie, but they are basically useless. You just end up thinking after the fact "oh, that's what that meant." In fact, a lot of stuff in this really doesn't matter. The relationships do change, but they don't affect gameplay at all, and the butterfly effects are interesting, but ultimately are just another piece of "after the fact" information. More useful for replayability than anything else.
Related to that, don't worry about any spoilers in the R1 menus/clues. Knowing there is a category called "twins" doesn't really spoil anything. It just is clues related to what happened to the twins.

So I’ve watched this game played by several people, and I’m just realizing that I definitely should have known who was in therapy with Dr. Hill.

Josh had both of his sisters go missing and seemingly dead, it would only make sense for it to be him. Probably should have realized that sooner.

Yeah, true. But at most you could only really suspect him for a short time as being that person in therapy, because they do it in a way that makes you believe there are multiple bad people on the mountain. Plus, the game cleverly and convincingly tricks us in to thinking he dies when he doesn't.

I suck at QTE games so I have never played this. Should be fun to watch the story unfold.
Hell, I know this is years old, but I have to say how relieved I am that someone else out there doesn't like Sam's starting outfit
Good god you are fantastically beautiful and I'm loving your voice! I know this is incredibly late and probably won't be any use, but when those "Don't Move" moments pop up, not only do you have to not move the controller, but the controller really needs to be level as well. I remember having to adopt a rather sturdy sitting position myself when going through this ;P

I've subbed because you're not annoying. I just want to point out, if you haven't already worked it out by the end of this first episode (still watching), this game is a homage to cheesy horror flicks. If you embrace that you'll understand the little nods here and there, like running out into the snow without the right outfit.
You also mentioned lag. Have you downloaded the patch?
I'll check for any patches. I think my mistake was buying the game online maybe? That the PS4 is struggling to handle running the game and recording at the same time? Honestly, I'm not really sure. Next time, i'm buying a hard copy because it made editing a bit tough lol.

And not sure what the lag is that is talked about here or in the video. The game has some odd sort of pauses at times, that seem more drawn out than you expect, but I didn't see any lag in this stream. Just the one noted recording clip that was noted.
