Absolutely beautiful.. 😍 Calathea are my absolute favorite.. Nothing can beat them when it comes to beauty and foliage.. Though they are little finicky and they don't love me that much.. 🙃😁 But I'm learning gradually how to keep them happy.. Thanks for sharing.. It helps..
loved it and I just got my first dottie 2 days back ... I was super excited to recieve a healthy looking pant but just this morning it’s 3/4 smallers leaves underneath looked droopy and lifeless completely (not sure if due to shock of unboxing after being delivered and out of box in different temperatures now?!) ..
You can do one of these two things. If the soil is wet do not water it!! Or if the soil feels more on the dry side water it !! It used to happen to my leaves all the time, they may just be thirsty and these plants need a lot of humidity so get yourself a humidifier it will help a ton. Let me know how it goes :)
@@princ3sssEr3nity thanks a ton!! exactly what I did yesterday and now hoping it’s back to life soon 😊🙏thanks for ur video btw 👍 .. please do try sharing more easy care tips for these same plants especially in autumn n winter time
Subscribing right now! Us lonely witches gotta stick together! Thank you for the care tips. I just got a Makoyana and am debating between purchasing a Dottie or a Rosy as well!
Hello. I accidentally overwatered my dottie because the drainage of the pot which I transferred it into was not good enough. I quickly removed the water once I noticed it but some of the leaves became droopy and some wilted. Will it automatically result to root rot?? I'm very worried bc it is so expensive 😅 If you have any tips I would appreciate it 😊
Dotties are very iffy, if you are lucky you could save it, I recommend transferring it like you did and not watering it till it’s at least two to three inches dry on the top soil, don’t let it get too dry because they do like a moist environment, try providing a bit more sun than usual if you can, because the heat can “eat up” the wet soil. Keep me updated and good luck.
@@princ3sssEr3nity If I also changed the soil can I also let it out now for rainwater? When it was overwatered my mom insisted to also change the soaking wet soil bec she noticed it hardens easily with water in it so she changed it with garden soil+coco peat. Luckily it's kind of raining now here so I wonder if I can let out my dottie too.
@@moonlover6827 try filling a jug with rainwater !! That way you don’t have to worry about rushing and overwatering it. I think you’ll be fine especially that you are using such a great soil mix !!!!
Jennifer Santana like from a green leaf to a dark purple leaf ? Or in general ? Even so in both cases it does it on it’s own with the proper conditions. Don’t give it to much sunlight. I would say a shady place that still receives a bit of light. Also water it on a schedule because the leaves will start to get crispy. Always have the soil moist but not drenching wet. Hope this helps and congrats on your new plant 🌱
Tina Ni hey no in this video I show 2 plants. The Dottie is typically dark with pink stripes while the roseopicta is dark in the middle with magenta edges. Hope this helps.

For propagating you just cut beneath a nod and you can put it in water. I haven't tried propagating in soil with calatheas
Ohhhhim going to try that soon!! Thank you so much.
It shows watering a roseapictus and wetting the leaves. Does that mean we do or don't do it that way?

Loved this. Thank you for this video, just got this little planty🌿 today, therefore a little less of a "lonely" witch 🧹🖤🧙

dottie is purple ?
I just found out I bought a Rosy instead of a Dottie. Their full names are Calathea Roseopicta Rosy & Calathea Roseopicta Dottie. 😊
Her voice sounds like Catriona Gray
