    Home gardener here, obsessed with your videos! I love your style and creative eye. This year my gomphrena are the star of the cut flower garden and I’m not mad about it!

    I love seeing people use their short stems! I actually sell shorts to my florist for a discounted price because they love them for smaller bouquets and funeral wreaths and corsages/boutonnieres. Beautiful bouquets as always.

    Love the mini bouquet idea! I usually keep the shorties for myself, but I’m sure my customers would love this option too!

    My Sahara Rudbeckia is beautiful but very short. Last week I had some beautiful bouquets with Benary Giant Wine Zinnias, Queen Lime Red Zinnias, Envy Zinnias, Sunday Celosia and Snow on the Mountain. Gorgeous!

      Agreed, mine are so short! I"m curious how she got such long stems?! I think they need to overwinter to get height...

      My Sahara Rudbeckia is so slow growing this year! I haven't had any blooms yet. Just green leaves.

    Your bouquets are so beautiful this week. The big ones I love, but those mini ones are just so precious! I’m one of those old lady’s that live in an apartment. I would love them…..and they are so economical! Best wishes!

    I'm of the same mindset, if you are just going to toss the short flowers then make them into a bouquet. Your customers who are are buying the $5 arrangements have a different purpose than those you buy the $20 bouquets. Best of luck!

    I just grow for me. This year I am growing a little of a lot of variety to find out what I like and use. I am loving asters (I got a free packet of seeds), they are pastels and last forever. I am also growing lowlander grass, love it. Looks good in the landscape and in bouquets. I am discovering the benary giants' colors are not what I expected, picking different colors next year.

    Do you have a dollar price in mind when it comes to whether it’s worth doing a market or when it’s not worth doing a market? Meaning, you want to make X amount of dollars in order to continue doing markets.

    Did you mention the variety of small/mini sun flower you used? I’d like to put some in for next year. So cute.

    I love that deep red amaranth! I am making bouquets of white Ammi, red amaranth, white double click cosmos and green zinnias - they kind of have a Christmas vibe, but I'm enjoying them!

    Love it! Are those actually goldilocks rudbeckia in the first bouquet? when I googled them, the pic that comes up is more double than what yours look like. Just wondering, since I'm thinking about growing goldilocks next year and I'm curious if they really aren't as full as I was seeing online... The ones you used look more like my indian summer, which I don't need any more of, :)

    Does your Sahara Rudbeckia come back every year? I'm growing some right now to put out this fall with the hopes they will over winter.
    Also, what causes zinnias to grow really large stalks and 6 - 7' tall? I want to pull them because staking them has become impossible. When I see others they all look reasonable heights. They get about 6 - 7 hours of mostly morning sun. Also, I'm in Maryland, Zone 7b. Thanks!
    P.S. I love your bouquets!!

    • @SunshineFlora
      @SunshineFlora  27 днів тому

      Yes! My Sahara does come back each year. For the zinnias, are you picking yours? That would help them branch out more?

    Do you use statice or any other flower to dry it for future bouqs this season or for next years spring bouqs?? I'm debating on drying my gomphrena and saving it for next spring so i have more flower varieties and colors.
    My favs that I'm cutting now are Benary's Giants, Lisianthus (roseanne brown, voyage champagne, arena 3 gold ), still have lots of snaps, and gold lite 🌻, cinnamon basil.

    • @SunshineFlora
      @SunshineFlora  25 днів тому

      Gomphrena dries well. So do straw flowers and flamingo feather celosia

    How do you do your spacing when you plant your sunflowers? I've tried 9 seeds/sq. foot this season but i think i need to change it to 6 seeds.

    Do you plant the sunflower in landscape fabric?
