Marcia Lucas would never lower herself to work for KK. But her influence and editing of the OT cannot be overstated. I have no doubt she could produce something well above the current standard.
As one reviews everything *Kathleen Kennedy* has said and done, one cannot help but feel she must have had some really deep-seated resentment against *George Lucas.* Because it can appear as though she deliberately attempted to undo his legacy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Though I agree with you that she had some deep-seated hatred towards lucas, my God this seems like the most convoluted revenge plot to go through to try and destroy lucas and his works, while simultaneously destroying her reputation. Say what you want about George Lucas , the fandom knows that he has nothing to do with the current crap coming out, and that no matter what she does, it doesn't tarnish his name nor his original work.

They're fumbling EVERYTHING. Im so upset about them butchering Indiana Jones. They made him a shell of his former self. Absolutely awful. My disdain for Pherbie Waller-Bridge knowns no bounds and I can't stand KK. Her greatest work was somehow convincing GL that she would honor his work and respect the SW universe. That went out the crapper real quick! Haha, I love KK saying people would be surprised that the majority of the people creating the movies behind the scenes are women! As a woman, it's not surprising!! It is very obvious that few men were brought in and that she doesn't value the opinion of men. Sharmeen Chimoy is KK's new minion lol. I quite liked Rogue One too but still need to see Andor.
I don't understand the hate towards JP 3. I thought it was a great movie. And I wasn't bothered by the T-Rex getting killed. I thought the Spinosaurus was a good addition. Killing Indiana Jones and replacing for the sake of diversity though, that's unforgivable. I have a strong feeling that Sallah will only have a few lines at the start and end of Dial of Destiny, much like Goldblum in JWFK. As much as it pains me to say that.
It’s my third favourite JP film, funnily enough. But it always annoyed me that the Spinosaurus turns up, kills 2 people, kills the T-Rex then disappears until almost the end of the movie. Only to get its nose stuck in a fence, and then set itself on fire. Killing the T-Rex and changing the poster was a bold and unexpected move, but I felt they then under-utilised their new Dinosaur. If the rumours about Indy are true… yes, unforgivable.
I bought the Indiana Jones trilogy years ago on blu-ray and there was a bonus movie about Indy and the Russians and the kid from Transmorphers was in it too. Pretty weird stuff to be honest, I'm glad they stopped making these before Harrison Ford got to old and CGI became a big thing.
I think George lucas had to know kennedy was a black hole of creativity. Lucas took a lot of flak and hate for the prequel trilogy. His confidence was shaken, he resents fans for making videos about how "bad" his last trilogy was. He set starwars up for failure from the start when he sold it and left kennedy in charge. He knows it too. Hence, his white slavers comments. He wanted to see it worse off then when he had it as a last F you to all the people that ragged on him for his prequels.
This may be a hot take but I was onboard with everything they were doing (except for Rogue One, hate that film) UNTIL they fired Gina Carano. That move singlehandedly turned one of the biggest Star Wars fans into a casual one, at best or an Apathetic one, at worst. I will not pay money for anything they put out until that’s rectified. KK also replaced Gareth Edwards during rogue one for reshoots, so throw out any notion that he had “creative freedom”
G’day mate, I’ve had a few people disagree with me on Rogue One, all with valid points. I personally really enjoyed it, although the evidence of fan service and cash grabbery is strong with that film. When I say that it was left “relatively unscathed” I mean that despite studio meddling the end product was consistent with the works of Lucas, and it felt like Star Wars, it also didn’t split the fandom. On Gina, you are not alone. I was disgusted with Lucasfilm’s treatment of her, particularly in the same week where they were celebrating women in film (see KK’s “fade in” Oscars video). I know many folk who boycotted D+ after she was fired and refuse to watch anything new as a result. Where it not for their extensive back catalogue, I reckon D+ would be in serious trouble (mind you Disney’s stocks aren’t looking too great at the moment anyway). On Edwards, yes so I heard. The film was meant to be a Vietnam war style film, you can see evidence of the darker tone in the early trailers (most of the scenes not making the Final Cut). I wish we’d seen that film, alas studio meddling stuck again. In any rate it serves as the start point for KK’s “creative differences” axe. I’ve reached the level of apathetic fan myself, which is a terrible shame as I lived and breathed Star Wars as a wee jellybub. I’d like to say there is still hope … but I guess time will tell.
