Thanks a lot for asking the 3.2kw question - my decision has been solely swayed away from buying a nexon because of slower charging. One thing that I would like to point out that 32amps of current is possible on a single phase domestic connection - I did confirm this with tata power delhi. That being said, 32amps * 240 volts = 7.2kw of charging speed is still possible. Reducing costs is a different ballgame altogether.
Please clarify this, in another interaction he said 7.2 kw is possible and also 50 kw. If indeed its not there then what's the point. If someone suddenly decides to go out of town and it's not charged then he should first run to a fast charger, with a 7.2 kw charger one can charge up by the time he gets ready to leave.
@@tajendrasinghrathore As per him, if you need a top-up real quick you should head to a DC charger. Also, DC charging speeds are also 25kw which is half of what MG or Kona can take.
Good point on the single phase 7.2 kW. They wanted every apartment owner to not have hassles of installing another meter. As currently most meters are rated at 5kW. That is what they told us. It’s a conservative design. Maybe the future models and next versions of Nexon EV will go away with this limitation?
@@pluginIndia I believe you are referring to the sanctioned load on a meter. That too is dynamic i.e. driven by a 3 month average because that's more cost efficient for the discom than keeping a fixed load. Also, a if it was a fixed load it would trip the whole line if somebody pulled more - so that's always dynamic. Unless we need a 11kw AC charger, nobody needs a 3phase connection. Look at how MG, Brightblu and Delta are providing chargers which pull 32amps even from a single phase connection.
@@asijamohit Hi, He was in another panel discussion with pan india owners which is on UA-cam 3hr long. Where he told an owner that they can provide 7.2 ke home charger. In another interaction on motor octane he said it can charge at 50kw.
I have a question here.. When we say battery don't like more than 45 degree.. So suppose car is fully charged and is standing in sunlight wherein the temperature is more than 45 degree... So is it possible switch on the AC automatically to cool the battery... And when we come to drive it, we see the battery is down by some percentage
But in another interaction he said 7.2 kW charger is possible. If it is not there then it is not a proper EV. He also said it will accept 50 kw but they advertise only 25 kw time. These things have to be clarified, I want a future proof product not a compromise. This is exactly why Nano failed.
7.2 KW or 7 KW chargers are still in the nascent stage in India but are catching up fast. One charger manufacturer I am a consultant of has sought my help in sourcing the technology for 7 KW .
My Nexon EV AC failed. They replaced many components one by one. Finally had to replace the entire AC sytem by paying lakhs. Authorized service center informed that the liquid coolant got mixed up with ac gas. Many of our group members faced the same problem. Is it prevantable by design change. Can you share phone number of Mr. Kulkarni?
We need TATA NANO EV or Tiago Ev for city with 100 to 130kmts range which is best for both TATA and consumers due to low cost of ownership and large sales Hope I will get it from TATA
In Teslas, during fast charge, they activate full battery cooling to maintain high charging speed. The charger is recognised by the car itself, and the BMS in the car activates the battery cooling. I wonder if the same could be applied to Nexon via OTA updates
In tesla they also heat up battery pack if car is in cold xlimate : ) Their technology is far better then our . Tesla and Space X is xurrently working 20 Years from rest of the world
BMS have that facility built in. They can sense what type of charging is being used and accordingly it will monitor the cooling system. 60 KW DC charging will require that feature .
Unless you have the option of up gradation it's difficult for lot of people like us...boz technology keeps changing..and definitely there will b better charging technologies coming up..u can't expect to invest on an EV and next year it becomes obsolete..u have to have an buy back arrangement to back the customer ..if u do this..i am sure u will have a lot of buyers lining up for EV"s..give it a thought
The industry stakes are high and they have this in mind . Any new charging technology will be compatible with the oldest existing EV vehicles . The situation is same all over the world. In USA last year they have now unanimously adopted the Tesla charging model and all new chargers will have it . Canada will adopt the same . The focus is on increasing the infrastructure exponentially. Trans Canada Highway has now expanded a lot and one could drive 8000 miles from coast to coast without any issues .
Charger also need cooling and I ( working in Emerson CR) evaluating this for india charging stations. Typical standalone HVAC system help to maintaining Charing stations temperatures.
tata ev is game changer for tata motors. because ev have less parts that why it required less service. today service is not good in tata that why many dont buy. but ev change tata motors because that require less service..
This is not liquid cooling. It's using a liquid gel as a heat conductor. It is still a passively cooled battery pack, just more filled up with junk to transmit heat away. Actual cooling that creates very long lasting batteries needs active cooling either by an A/C compressor (which isn't perfect) or by having integrated cooling in between the modules/cells to provide effective and even temperate control.
But, as he mentioned in the video this uses AC compressor to pass the coolant(in this case water), I think you were misled by the graphics...those were not gels, but pipes.. I guess. So, it's active cooling indeed.
Nice video... Sir Nexon EV is just going to get popular.. Then why to increase the prices soo soon.. You can have many reasons to increase the price. But the sticker price is already soo high. So increasing the price soo soon is very bad idea... Very very disappointed with this decision... I hope you really want that your ev ppls will buy. Not like other big companies who just make EV for show off, But actually more interested in selling ICE.
@@pluginIndia they have increased price of xm and xz by 26k ... now the revised price is 14.25lk &15.25lk respectively however xz lux price remain same.
Hyundai Kona gives both charging options, 7.4 and 2.8kW. You are just escaping. To make competitive in price Tata has compromised on many things including safety. Tata dealers suck, specially Puneet Automobile, Mumbai, are scoundrels. Complaints are not attended to, even the car is not washed before handing over to customer! Tata engineers assigned for EVs, especially in my city, is not responding. Maybe they feel they are Ratan Tata. Literally hopeless. I had to get my EV towed 3 times to workshop to make Tata accept that the battery is defective. Half of my money saved went in car hires done during this period. You will feel the steering shaft, by your feet, it doesn't have the enclosure, reminds me of the old Fiat and Ambassador cars! For the mileage Tata claims, it has to be run as bullock cart. There App is half of the time not connecting, and they are charging some ₹:3500/- per annum only for the App and data! Car service costs me ₹:1/- per KM, which is same as ICE cars. I was told that service costs would be much less than ICE cars. Tata has the App for service locations and cost, called "TMSC", but to my surprise the service cost function does not work! Service cycle is 7500KMs which I feel should be increased to 15000KMs, since there is not much in EVs to service. Tata has kept this 7500KMs for dealers to earn their livelihood! I doubt Tata has learnt anything by making Mercedes cars! I have gone beyond my budget to buy this car only to ESC (experience, save and conserve...) had some more money, would have definitely gone for Hyundai Kona.
I’m surprised nobody saw this comment or liked it! All these issues are faced by many Nexon EV customers and they’re roaming around dealerships without any permanent fix provided by Tata Motors.
Of course the on board system should be capable of handling 7.2 KW. But customers would like to spend minimum on the external home charger so it is one reason. Another reason is minimum 35 AMP outlet and 3 phase power to handle 7.2 KW charging. In USA and Canada 40 AMP breaker is a must for 7.2 KW . Another is the 3.3 KW charging is more suited to the batteries

How to connect with Mr. Anand kulkarni sir. I have problems with changing of my nexon ev.
Is any new upgraded version of nexon coming?
Is there chance nexon will come with more option of battery pack? 40 kw or like that
good
In Tata Nexon ev which battery used means Exide or Amara Raja or else
I think they are using Eveready Battery.
sir what happens when driver doesn't turn on AC ?Will battery pack stilled be cooled ?
There is a liquid cooling system where the coolant constantly circulates to keep it cool. This is just like the coolant system in ICE vehicles.

tha price drop for 100km won't be of much a difference. because the remaining system has to be constant
