@@ctrivin thats all i can think about when watching these. how many times he set up that tripod and went back for it. but he gets so many shots, i would get lazy after the first hour and be like ok i'm done setting this thing up. amazing videos tho
Hi Kraig! I recently started hiking alone too as most of my friends are not really into hiking or don't have enough spare time to go on hikes with me. You inspired me to try it out and it is absoluetely fantastic. I actually prefer hiking/trail running without any people around me because it really gets you into thinking and enjoying the peacefulness of the mountains and hills. It lets you come to balance with nature and yourself. I'd encourage everyone who is a bit hasitant to go on their own to just try it out and experience the soothing sensation of hiking alone! Best, Thomas
Hiking and venturing off alone has such a different feeling then when you are with somebody. It is more of a thrilling experience. Not much of a thrill when someone is with you
You could spend an entire year in the Adirondacks doing every type of hike imaginable- and have unique content for each one. I have lived here my whole life, and have no problem finding a new spot to visit every weekend. =) The Adirondacks is an incredibly special place. We are so fortunate to have it.
First off, thank you so much for being an ambassador for wilderness area respect. Dude, the color and range of those video shots are absolutely wonderful. Nice Job!
These videos are like those scenes in a Ghibli movie. Like when Ashitaka is doing his everyday thing. Or when Sophie and Howl are working on the castle. Serene music, simple focus. Beautiful stuff.
I hike the Adirondacks frequently. It’s absolutely beautiful here. I live in upstate New York so it’s in my back yard. 💝🤔💝 My hubs n I grew up going to Schroon Lake. His family owned a campground there so we experienced it year round. He actually graduated high school there. We take our dogs with us on every adventure. Life is good. 💝🌍💝 Thank you for sharing your fabulous adventures with us.
Love this one, The rain really added a sense of depth and realism too it. I have started shooting short hikes with my daughter, 100% inspired by these. Keep em coming!
You are a great inspiration for solo travelers/hikers. Quality content and good choice of music. You take the soul of the place with you in your videos. Kudos!
Has got to be one of my favorite videos on UA-cam, not only because of the beauty I find in the nature of the Adirondacks, but just all of the effort put in to making and filming this. Absolutely amazing. Please continue to make more like this!
I've done a fair amount of hiking in the ADKs and seen a lot of hiking videos thereabouts, and this is by far the best one at capturing the landscape and the experience. Great work!
Loved those tips and instructions that you provide at the end. Would like to see more of your creativity. Please don't ever let your channel become a content producing factory. The quality videos that you provide are important. No matter how much time it takes. Much love.
Fantastic! I love your talking head portions that explain so much in such a small window of time. I could tell this was a more challenging hike due to the weather and the denser vegetation, and it’s perhaps a bit more claustrophobic than I prefer in my own hiking experiences, but that’s the beauty of experiencing it through your well adjusted lenses. Loving the ambience you create in these videos, with your consistently deep dedication to getting those shots, the overall minimalist design, and the accompaniment of ethereal music pieces. I’d be interested in either an original score or a fully ambient captures track. I know you can pull off either one. More, please! Can’t wait to see what you tackle next, and as always, stay safe out there.
Love your videos. Thanks for allowing me to see all these great places that I'll likely never see in my lifetime in person. Just wish you could make the beautiful scenery photos and videos last much longer giving more time to soak it all in.
Nice. Lived in NNY my whole life and have always wanted to go on a hike alone down there. It's a beautiful place. You did a great job at capturing that.
Brilliant video, just like the rest of them on your youtube channel. Plz keep up this amazing work. Your stuff is truly inspiring and makes me want to do so much more . PS: Your choice of music......is Spot On !
Man I definitely know how soggy and flooded the trails can be up there...I camed exactly where you did too...climbing Marcy with those wet line trees guarantees full saturation no matter the rain gear you have on, but when I was the first of the day to summit Marcy with my trail dog, and watched the sun break thru the clouds at sunrise, I forgot all the suffering and was in bliss. Cheers man. I love your channel since finding it a few days ago.
Your explanation is much much important for all the hikers and also it will help a lot. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and everything. Cheers for your another hike 🙌🏼 I am also one of the adventures. Definitely need your help
Wow, amazing -- this hike, exactly, was the first solo backpack that I did back when I was 16 (I'm 62 now and still an outdoor fanatic). I remember I rode up on the bus (from Schenectady), intending to start and stop the hike from Lake Placid (do a loop hike into the high peaks area)... but on the bus ride, I met a girl that knew the area well, and she suggested that I get off early at Keene Valley and cut thru to Lake Placid from there. Which I did -- following your route exactly. I remember the mtns I climbed along the the route. I also vividly remember the last day, too -- I was intending to walk the road to Lake Placid to get my return bus, but after I was walking on the road for like 2 minutes, even tho I wasn't hitch hiking, someone stopped and asked if I needed a ride -- which I took!! It was all a perfect trip (except for lots of rain, tho I was too young to care too much about that!) Thanks for taking me back to my roots!!
Not generally one to comment, but stumble upon your Iceland hike video early this morning and have been binging everything since. The video quality and shots you get are amazing and just have to give you praise for that good sir. Was going to ask if you had been hiking for a long while and then conveniently you answered that in this video, keep up the great work Kraig, you got yourself another subscriber here, all the best in your future adventures.
Love the simplicity of this. No fancy/cliche editing in an effort to make it pop. Raw, original and authentic. That's the vibe I'm getting and it's absolutely the right one
Amazing effort & cinematography! I think your content is by far, what I look forward to seeing in my "recent uploads" notifications. Truly love your work! Thanks for inspiring me, and I'm sure others, to get out in the woods and experience life.
I really enjoy your videos. I liked the outro you did on this as you went into a lot of detail about how the video was put together and your preparation for both the hike and the video. The resolution is amazing. It's a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Me encantan tus vídeos, me transmiten paz y tranquilidad. Este video en especial me gusta por la humedad y colores verdes junto con el agua que se ve. 😍😍😍
Sleeping in a Hammock is the best thing ever! You just need to have the right gear. I’m using DD Hammock’s Frontline, also using their 3x3m Tarp, underblanket when the weather is getting colder, their Treehugger with the bigger carabiners and their sleeve which is suuuuper useful. Just make sure you have enough Paracord and you’re all set!
Outstanding video! I imagine it was a lot of hard and tedious work with the filming. I didn't know New York had such beautiful forests. Thank you for posting this work. You have some amazing talent, obviously. All the best to you, Sir.
In a world of limited time and money resources its always nice to have your videos. which are like a awesome short holiday with a good friend. Hope you never stop doing these videos.
Hi Kraig! I love your videos. When i wach them i get goosebumps everytime. I want to be like you, or go the same direction in life as you and find my own path. When i wach these videos i just want to go outside: Just hiking for days watch the nature around me etc. I just love you man. Thanks
Love your videos! Always so beautifully shot in really great locations! Really hope to one day be able to visit there and maybe get some footage for my own channel. Thanks for sharing, keep up the great work!
Hi Kraig, This is the first video Ive seen of yours and the footage is the best. I'm a 46er and spend alot of time here. Felt like I was on the trail with you. You did the Adirondacks proud with this vid. I'm heading up by Whiteface mtn this weekend to camp. Looking forward to more of your videos.
I love both your ideas for sound! The idea of mixing the sounds of the environment sounds like a great way to add ambiance, but I think having the right soundtrack really elevates your art. The emotion inspired in me by your shots of the horn in Hornstrandir wouldn't have been the same without "Spiriteaux" by Tony Anderson. It's easy to make nature look beautiful, but only a few can capture it's sheer awesomeness, and you, my friend, are most certainly one of them.
Dude I don’t know how you do it, but you capture such natural beauty in your videos in ways I’ve never seen anyone able to do, even in films and network tv. I think aside from your hard work at this over the years, you also have some sort of gift for this. Another great video. 5 stars from me! - Alex
(From the voice of Morgan Freeman) And from that moment on, he spent the rest of his days in silence, going back to get that tripod.
I was thinking just thinking this video looked annoying to make.
lmaoooooo yooooo i was thinking the same thing!!!!!! like damn, thats alot of backtracking..... lol. Great video though!!!!!!!!!
lmao!!!!!!!! watch my hiking vlogs

Completely agree with this. Very therapeutic.

Fricken love these intensely emotional silent hikes man. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride!
Kraig: *shoots an absolutely stunning hiking video*
Also Kraig: *still uses Clair de Lune for the talking head portion*

Just don't go on tongue mountain there rattlers
So beautiful! I haven't seen anything like it here in South Africa. Maybe our climates aren't conducive to such woodlands or forrests.
Ditto!
Just don't hike tongnue mountain there rattlesnakes
@@dagwood953 yeah but there are rattlers on tongue mountain they have sign at beginning of trail

I booked my flight to hike the TMB next year because of you. I want you to know that your videos have changed my outlook on life. Thank you.
That's awesome.

Loving these videos Kraig! So relaxing to watch!
The colours are beautiful on this one! It really pops! Great job again man!
Love this. Amazing to see the trails I hike so often through your lens, makes me love it even more. Thanks.
