I hiked the Tour De Mt Blanc at the age of 64, a week after the death of my sister.
At the time, I didn't realize how full of grief and burnt out I was, but the hike with good friends, brought me back to life.
I know these mountains quite well. They are visually magnificent and a good workout. 😀

I don't think I know a more soothing filmmaker than you man, like I am emotionally at ease watching your work, and I feel like that's that's literally the hardest thing to do in a filmic medium -- kudos to finding a way to let the audience sit in the moments you capture and doing the best to capture your emotional feeling of "at ease" while you hike this incredible, breath-taking scenery.

This guy is awesome, another guy I enjoy watching is Erik Normark who similarly makes wilderness and hiking videos. His videos are almost completely without talking and just nature sounds for audio. He treks in Northern Sweden. You should check him out, it's a relatively small channel.

Hey Kraig, I don't know how often you go through these comments, of if you read them much at all, but I just wanted to say I hope you never get tired of making these videos. You're a funny guy and all and your vlog videos are awesome - but these videos with barely any diologue, beautiful music and amazing video work are some of the most truly theraputic things I've ever seen, and the recaps at the end are really interesting, informative and very easy to absorb. Please keep up the amazing work, keep petting animals across the planet and keep sharing your incredible work. All the best from Toronto.

I love the silent parts, just the picture, the rest is left to my imagination. Enjoyed It
    as a Swiss, local Guy;
    a) bring cash, we don't accept CC every where (it's complicated I know :-)).
    b) If it is forbidden to camp, use a tarp it is not considered a tent/camp, or at least you can discuss it.
    c) if you want to camp, don't do it next to a "refuge, Hütte, Alp, rifugio etc." keep your distance
    d) enjoy your hike, your stay and take your time to visit those countries.
    e) find your spot, don't go where everybody already has been.
    f) AND MOST IMPORTANT look out for the small things right next to you, They are as beautiful as any other place on earth.
    thanks

I just completed my tour on 13 August in 13 days, so thats 14 km on average everyday with 900m elevation everyday on average.... and You did it 5 and half Days Kudos!! thats about 30-40km in a day dude plus you need to time to take all these shots with camera !!! Kudos. My husband is photographer and we literally planned the tour slow because of camera and drone we cannot literally walk fast like other hikers and we surely take 2-3 hours more than normal hikers, because you spend more time to take pictures, time lapse and Videos by drone , so in awesome place we take alteast 30 mins and consider doing that every awesome spot you find during the trek. I see that you have taken generally Drone and still videos.
Loved your video and relived it. We stayed in Refugees didnot camp or tent , I was blissful to meet other fellow trekkers. Due to Covid Advance booking is mandatory and some refugees donot provide Blankets so you need to carry your sleeping Bag. We managed without sleeping bag, there was mattress and we put our warm clothes and ofCourse sleeping liner....cant believe its been two weeks and I am missing each and every bit of the trek. I am back at home and I feel so lost and post travel depression.

It is a lot when you're beginner but I, as a fat guy, went from 15 km a day being tiring in spring of 2020 to doing 35 km in a day and still being fine to do the same next day in half a year of training. Our body is made for walking. It adapts fast to that. The rest is in your head.

I know there are insane people who trail-run long distances, but to the common man 40 km, with a lot of elevation, is a lot... especially when you do it for 5 days in a row.
      Cheers

I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and this is still hands down my favorite. The music in particular matches perfectly with the shots and ambient noise. It really captures the serenity and peace of hiking.

I'm writing down this comment and it's still playing at 1:05 but I felt the peacefulness, calmness and serenity through your shots. I used to climb mountain before back home but ever since I got based here in the middle east I'm still craving for the calmness and the grandeur of the mountains. Mountains will always bring me into a meditative state. For me, it's the perfect place where God and I can have a peaceful and uninterrupted communication. Thanks Kraig for doing this. Happy Trails, Keep safe & God bless!

I grew up in Europe and spent a lot of time in the Alps, and have lately been thinking if I should move back for a while...this may have just decided it for me for next year! You captured the Alps perfectly, I got every emotion back from it. Thank you for creating something so beautiful.

    • @NicoKupfer

Well, on the one hand he has expensive (good!) gear, which is lighter. Plus, @Kraig Adams knows what is and isn't necessary (except for the water filter). Still, it's impressive - given that he is carrying a Drone + Remote + 2 batteries + Camera + tripod.
In respect to the other people, here in the UK we say "Too much gear, no idea". (In british accent it rhymes - geeah - ideeah)

Sometimes people stay in huts and have buy their food as opposed to camping and cooking, though. As well as not having the money for the lighter/less bulky gear :P

I really think you're on to something here, we've watched this and a few of your other videos (This being my favorite) before bed and it's just an amazing way to wind down. It's beautiful, Serene, you can take a moment to think to yourself and just feel your stress melt out of your body before sleep. I hope you'll do more of these.
