I don't think I know a more soothing filmmaker than you man, like I am emotionally at ease watching your work, and I feel like that's that's literally the hardest thing to do in a filmic medium -- kudos to finding a way to let the audience sit in the moments you capture and doing the best to capture your emotional feeling of "at ease" while you hike this incredible, breath-taking scenery.

Hey Kraig, I found your channel a couple years back. I just want to say watching you grow as a person, especially as of late is pretty amazing dude. Seems like you're really finding yourself and perfecting your craft. Keep going, we love this content.
I just did the Mont Blanc Tour, I didn't do it full, but a good part. I went alone. Your video made me very emotional. The pictures are wonderful. Congratulations for your work.
I love the silent parts, just the picture, the rest is left to my imagination. Enjoyed It as a Swiss, local Guy; a) bring cash, we don't accept CC every where (it's complicated I know :-)). b) If it is forbidden to camp, use a tarp it is not considered a tent/camp, or at least you can discuss it. c) if you want to camp, don't do it next to a "refuge, Hütte, Alp, rifugio etc." keep your distance d) enjoy your hike, your stay and take your time to visit those countries. e) find your spot, don't go where everybody already has been. f) AND MOST IMPORTANT look out for the small things right next to you, They are as beautiful as any other place on earth. thanks
@@walid3207 very late answer and I can't give you a clear answer since it depends on what part of switzerland you are in (even down to what town you are in sometimes) but wild camping is legal if you're above the tree line, otherwise you'd need to check the local rules.
If there was a network that only played your “no talking” hiking videos 24 hours a day...I wouldn't get anything done. Thank you sharing your journey and talent with everyone.
love how many still shots you have. really feel like thats what makes your videos feel so peaceful, plus the lack of talking or intense music. You let the environment speak for itself

Your video makes me realise, eyes are such an important organ to human body. Thanks lord for blessing me with a good vision. I could imbibe each and every frame of this video in my heart.
This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful films I've seen. The shots are amazing, the music is perfect. You've captured the spirit so well. Amazing.
Hey man, found your channel through this video the other week and I've had an absolute blast watching all your other videos. One of my absolute favourite youtube channels and it's very inspiring also. Both relaxing and up-lifting to watch and weirdly just what I needed as I've been in a bit of a slump lately and it's made me reconsider a lot of things, especially career wise! Keep doing what you want as it's so good and refreshing to watch. Hope all is well!
Between this, your Bali, and your Hornstrandir (your magnum opus to date) videos, you're fast becoming my favorite travel/hike vlogger. Continue with the beautiful orchestral, ambient, minimalist choices and jaw-dropping cinematography.
I remember hiking TMB when I was 10 with my family... all those long years ago, and all the memories it brings back... it's like reliving the experience again. :) Thank you so much for this.
Absolutely fascinated by the art that hides behind the editing of this beautiful, relaxing video! I mean it's an art to create that kind of slow video for 9 minutes and not make it boring. You definitely made it! Great job, thanks :)
Hauntingly beautiful... absolutely mesmerising... jaw dropping; cinematic, documentary quality content... I usually never comment on youtube videos, but I’m feeling very inclined to comment on this one. The video is full of beautiful shots and music - creates a very peaceful feeling and shows everyone just how beautiful nature is.
I've never been able to think of anything to add to my bucket list beyond the usual "hey, I want to go to these countries." And here we are, there's something on it now - I HAVE to do something like this. Thank you for this. Now I can't stop watching your other videos.
Thinking of doing it next year. I am worried about the number of people especially if I stay in some of the huts. I’m not the most sociable person .so it may tarnish my trip .🙈
This damn video got me into hiking. Finally saved enough to buy a good backpack, shoes, and some basic gear for overday hikes. My first hike ended up twice as long because i didn't know the trail didn't loop. Hurt my legs and hip a bit, so had to sit still for 2 weeks. Really hyped to get back out on the trails, a little smarter and a little stronger this time. This trail is my goal. Thank you for making this.
I've always been infatuated with hiking, but that love seems to dissipate once I get lost in the hubbub of everyday life. You're videos inspire to visit places I probably would've overlooked all my life. Visiting metropolitan locations can be great too, but there's nothing that quite supersedes these experiences. I'm excited to one day get my own chance to visit, and I'll make sure to cherish it.
I have walked about 17.000 kilometers on trails around the world and, with maybe that movie where Matt Damon and XXX get lost in a national park, your videos are the closest a film has been to my trail reality so thank you thank you bud, I almost cried out of so much beauty. Had I a different lifestyle I would definitely sponsor you, a hug mate :-)
the way you take shots of film with interactions, scenery, then your own commentary all put on top of the perfect music is fantastic. You for the first time made me think that traveling abroad is something I could do and this may be the inspiration for me to do it. Thank you Kraig! Keep up the great work
There is a feeling that I get in the mountains. I thought I could only feel it again by going there - but you have proven otherwise. Just watching this has brought it all back. You captured it like no other film I have seen. Amazing
i cannot explain how much peace your videos give me. they are so peaceful. so satisfying. these videos have made me very happy when it’s really hard to be. thank you, thank you, thank you for your content.
Just watched this and found it mesmerising. Decided immediately to do the loop with a friend when I retire in just over 2 years time. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing. 😁😁
It is a lot when you're beginner but I, as a fat guy, went from 15 km a day being tiring in spring of 2020 to doing 35 km in a day and still being fine to do the same next day in half a year of training. Our body is made for walking. It adapts fast to that. The rest is in your head.
I know there are insane people who trail-run long distances, but to the common man 40 km, with a lot of elevation, is a lot... especially when you do it for 5 days in a row. Cheers
Seriously, never stop creating. These videos are exquisite! Watching your videos makes for an entirely visceral experience; it’s personal and beautiful.
Yess! Amazing video as always Kraig. I'm a huge fan of yours and have been watching your videos for many months. I finally got motivated to make my own hiking video inspired by you. Would mean a lot if everyone could check it out and Subscribe to me small channel :) Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/fMCJ33bh17s/v-deo.html
I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and this is still hands down my favorite. The music in particular matches perfectly with the shots and ambient noise. It really captures the serenity and peace of hiking.
I'm writing down this comment and it's still playing at 1:05 but I felt the peacefulness, calmness and serenity through your shots. I used to climb mountain before back home but ever since I got based here in the middle east I'm still craving for the calmness and the grandeur of the mountains. Mountains will always bring me into a meditative state. For me, it's the perfect place where God and I can have a peaceful and uninterrupted communication. Thanks Kraig for doing this. Happy Trails, Keep safe & God bless!
You must be really comfortable with being alone. I feel like I'm always around people and it's exhausting. This video rejuvenated me. Thank you. Edit: Your film making is incredible.
I grew up in Europe and spent a lot of time in the Alps, and have lately been thinking if I should move back for a while...this may have just decided it for me for next year! You captured the Alps perfectly, I got every emotion back from it. Thank you for creating something so beautiful.
@Chris Pheros loVe Chris...it's a travel video. Heliosign tried to describe it as he/she saw it...why do you feel the need to analyse it....Let it go already. Jeez.....
@Chris Pheros loVe he meant the modern version which is esentually something you Jack off to the slang term nature porn is a word to describe beatiful enviroments which i hate
Well, on the one hand he has expensive (good!) gear, which is lighter. Plus, @Kraig Adams knows what is and isn't necessary (except for the water filter). Still, it's impressive - given that he is carrying a Drone + Remote + 2 batteries + Camera + tripod. In respect to the other people, here in the UK we say "Too much gear, no idea". (In british accent it rhymes - geeah - ideeah)
Sometimes people stay in huts and have buy their food as opposed to camping and cooking, though. As well as not having the money for the lighter/less bulky gear :P
I really think you're on to something here, we've watched this and a few of your other videos (This being my favorite) before bed and it's just an amazing way to wind down. It's beautiful, Serene, you can take a moment to think to yourself and just feel your stress melt out of your body before sleep. I hope you'll do more of these.
Love this format! I stopped watching travel vids because I got tired of listening to same same comments. The Q & A at the end was really good. Might want to let people know that in the title that so audience can anticipate or know that answers are coming.
Kraig, this video inspired me to hike the TMB myself. I did an 8 day solo trip this August, camping all the way before I left for college. It was my first time traveling and backpacking alone and it is an experience I will never forget. Thank you for your inspiring and beautiful videos!
Lovely. Happy you found something in my music. Thanks for the credit.

There is a feeling that I get in the mountains. I thought I could only feel it again by going there - but you have proven otherwise. Just watching this has brought it all back. You captured it like no other film I have seen. Amazing
Every shot is like a desktop wallpaper. Truly stunning!
I can tell confirm that this was not the result of fancy editing, filters and digital enhancement. The footage actually looks like the real deal.
i cannot explain how much peace your videos give me. they are so peaceful. so satisfying. these videos have made me very happy when it’s really hard to be. thank you, thank you, thank you for your content.
Amazing hiking, stunning scenery, beautifully edited video.
This is great because it avoids the drama of typical travel vlogging
incredible bro !-- just epic- thank yo for taking us along on your journey.)
Just watched this and found it mesmerising. Decided immediately to do the loop with a friend when I retire in just over 2 years time. Can't wait. Thanks for sharing. 😁😁
Wait ~200 km in 5 days, that means ~40 km a day?!!! That´s just more then aggressive, that´s insane!
Good work and great shots.
peace
Didn't roman legionairies march 100 kilometers a day or week
Yeah check out UTMB. I think they complete the loop in 21 hrs😅

I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and this is still hands down my favorite. The music in particular matches perfectly with the shots and ambient noise. It really captures the serenity and peace of hiking.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed watching your video Kraig, it's so pleasant and relaxing! 😁🙌
Hey Kraig!!! Your video made my week and weekend. The HONSTRANDIR was so damn awesome. Thanks dude!
Thanks!
You must be really comfortable with being alone. I feel like I'm always around people and it's exhausting. This video rejuvenated me. Thank you.
Edit: Your film making is incredible.
Feel the same man, thought I was an extrovert my whole life but people just exhaust me.

Thank you a lot! With your video i get an incredible relax. Really, thanks.
I grew up in Europe and spent a lot of time in the Alps, and have lately been thinking if I should move back for a while...this may have just decided it for me for next year! You captured the Alps perfectly, I got every emotion back from it. Thank you for creating something so beautiful.
This falls in the genre of hardcore nature porn.

9:32 the minimalist backpacker difference lol
When you find sneakers that you are so comfortable with, to hike Du Mt Blanc with, you made all the right life choices ;)
@@kraigadams That is precisely why I'm building out and moving into my van.
Nope, its money vs no money, he buys all his food
I love your videos they help with my anxiety. What a beautiful place! Maybe one day I can see it for myself :)
The sound design is just as breathtaking as the shots.
Excellent! And the unexpected Q&A at the end was awesome.
And is there anything better than an ice cold coke after a long run/hike??
Yes, an ice cold beer!
I dont normally drink cokes, but after a long day on the trail or a multiday backpacking, I crave one.
Love this format! I stopped watching travel vids because I got tired of listening to same same comments. The Q & A at the end was really good. Might want to let people know that in the title that so audience can anticipate or know that answers are coming.
YO DUDE KEEP MAKING THESE VIDEOS, I WILL WATCH ALL YOUR VIDEOS DUDE
Kraig, this video inspired me to hike the TMB myself. I did an 8 day solo trip this August, camping all the way before I left for college. It was my first time traveling and backpacking alone and it is an experience I will never forget. Thank you for your inspiring and beautiful videos!

I love how he pets animals along the way
