I love how Wanda initially only tries to tell Cheryl 😂
"hopefully, I could, at some point, get back some semblance of a life...". I died. Too funny.
How the hell did he keep a straight face?no way that scene was 1 take!
odorico leal Hahahaha,best ,ever
🤣
Lol! It would have taken him a day and a half to get back his semblance.
@@wungabunga During the interview, he said this was all improvised and he could not help laughing.
"at least..one of us would survive." He said that with a sincere straight face.
That's how I would think too, if my folks barely survived the Holocaust, and many of their loved ones had to be sacrificed so that a few could survive and carry on the race. Especially if the USA is just a place he's at to stay away from the people who want to kill him. And he's more interested in the afterlife than the current here and the now. Yeah, I would talk like that too. It's the prudent course of action when your very survival is a warzone, and nothing can be taken for granted, anti-Semitism is a real treat, and losing a wife because she'd rather stay behind at a charity function she started even though someone went out of her way to break a legally binding silence to warn them of a 90% probability of a terrorist attack in that city. If I were him, I wouldn't even be negotiating like that. No way. And I might just flee the country for a little bit.
@@zhouwu are you serious? Lighten up! You sound deranged.
@@sandragrant8271 No, I'm joking. I've just got a very dark sense of humour.
@@zhouwu you have a Larry David kind of humor. I like it.
@@sandragrant8271 Seriously? Now that's not the response I expected!
Larry did a smart move to seize the word selfish before she could.
He is in the right
This isn't kindergarten, you don't "seize" words and lock them out. If Cheryl could use selfish right after that, it wouldn't look weird at all. But despite all that I've said, Larry's 100% in the right.
@@TillTheLightTakesUs you misunderstand, he seized it as in utilizing the word and it’s meaning to serve his purpose. Now if the wife wants to use the word she’ll have to be put on the defensive to justify why she’s not selfish, then explain why Larry is acting selfish
She should have suggested Larry leave, wonder if boot was on other foot?
@@uncleterry1703 He’s *always* in the right!
That’s what makes this show so great (speaking as someone with Asperger’s who gets irritated by pointless social customs).
"I never thought I'd say this but Larry's right!" 🤣 Also Cheryl is being nuts here.
How cheryl kept a straight face when larry said "perish" is a miracle...........
It does look like she wants to crack at one point.
I'm with Larry on this one.
I like how she tries to guilt trip him when she has the very same choice to leave.
it's a very busy weekend though in their social calendar
...."talkin bout a damn benefit...."
This has long been my favorite scene from this show. The timing it amazing.
"I thought I'd never say this but Larry's right" ! Love it !
Larry’s awesome, I’m on a Larry binge watching few days b4 Christmas 2018
I don't Blame Wanda I will leave town too. Larry wife must be crazy to stay around for benefits
Well ,social climbing is a serious sport🤣
I LOVE Larry and Leon😂
“I’m going to Vegas with my boyfriend” 😂
I love the tone of voice of the Larry-Cheryl conversation.
Such a great scene.
I really wouldn't take this silliness seriously.😂
That was so serious I wouldn't mind knowing how many takes that took to complete, hilarious.
His first thought when she says she can't leave town is to try to save himself. What a champ
"If we're gonna go, we should go together." Yeah, because both people in a couple almost always die at the same time.
This scene is even funnier when you look back on it after Cheryl divorced him
Wanda's the best 😂😂😂
"...could they pick another weekend thats suited for you?"
Best curb scene ever
I'll think about it.
Okay so Wanda was totally just messing with them right? 😂😂
1:37 "If....wha...." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Not necessarily".
IMHO, this is one of the best scenes EVER!
Is one of the best scenes in the entire series
She wants to go together..all because she can't miss Alanis Morissette..I'd say hell yes I can live with that.
Wanda was part of the show in the beginning but she just disappeared in the later seasons
With how selfish and crazy Cheryl is proving herself to be in this scene, it would make sense for Larry to leave her right then and there.
Woody Allen has a lot to do with the funny in this show. Sort of Annie Hall brilliance. I did recently mention to someone that while I was in Puerta Vallarta and North Korea blew up Seattle while I was away, I'd feel like, you know, 'one up.'
I spent alot of time in the U.S. Reminds me why I don't live there. Everyone for themselves. Just saying..This was My Experience. Such a shame..Because I Love the USA
I thought I’d never say this but Larry’s right!
this is genius acting.
This is one of the most perfect scenes on Larry’s part.
Lol the fact that Cheryl even has to debate this about there own life is just sad and concerning. I'm sorry but I'm with Larry on this one too! Definitely a good funny scene in the series lol! 😂
Hopefully you'll be here
Is the pre or post implant Cheryl? That would be a huge factor in my decision. 😬. Steve
"boyfriend".............yea right.
It’s 100% selfish for Cheryl to want them to die together. It’s basically a suicide pact
Precisely.
Ollyoxenfree practically what marriage is lol
Kinda selfish of the fbi not warning people lol
Lol! If Larry and Cheryl had been on the Titanic, with one seat left on the lifeboat, he’d have taken it.
porridge57 he would have been in the lifeboats before they even got filled up
I'll think about it.
no idea how Cheryl kept a straight face. Every line Larry said was perfect
Nick Chin They shoot scenes separately
Anything is possible with enough botox.
Cheryl is a great straight man in the old bud abbott tradition
Larry said they had to do a lot of takes bc he couldn’t stop laughing.
And the whole scene was 100% ad libbed on the spot.
the way he says "selfish" is maybe the funniest delivery that word has ever seen in the history of humanity. ditto for "perish"
Well, it got a fast laugh out of me too, but when I actually thought about it, Larry is right. Sure, he's being selfish by leaving LA and leaving his wife alone in a possible terrorist attack. What's more selfish is too risk the death of both just so you can do some Public Image benefit. Short term gain.
This scene really just encapsulates what makes Larry so much of a unique character. Whereas most people take the obvious truths too seriously, Larry rejects it. And he's willing to argue just for the sake of it. He's the ultimate Devil's Advocate. He's a Jester.
Calm down dude. Its not that good
You took the words out of my mouth. Genius.
Cheryl It just seems like if we're gonna go we should go together" LD "Not Necessarily" LOL....LD=comedic genius
So funny
gotta agree with larry.
think cheryl is still obsessing on the "for all eternity" concept!
I would go with Cheryl anywhere anytime!
i love the use of the word 'perish'
The way Wanda goes..."IF??!?!....huh!" is hilarious!
LD is the most subtle savage person on the planet. Love it.
I love it how Cheryl makes her wanting to be next to a terrorist attack to not loose social points, into a passive agressive attack against Larry for not wanting to die with her 😂.
Absolute comedy gold from Larry and Cheryl! The whole scene is so beautifully paced. She is such a great foil for Larry. Trying to get him to stay with her when a terror attack is 90% sure while assuming the moral high ground and making him squirm is genius!
Indeed! I I just posted something similar. This is one of the best comedy scenes ever filmed IMO! Understated genius!
I love how its her decision to place them both at risk, but somehow the result is that Larry is on the spot. If he leaves, he's a jerk whether there's an attack or not.
@gene If the women you know would rather you die than live without them then maybe they shouldn’t be in your life...
yunggoth no woman is worth dying for. NONE. Life is too precious.
Jesus, its the role of both partners to stand by each other. Especially a man leaving a womans side during a time where there might be danger, spineless cowardice and it shows his true colors.
Bo Horn you're a fucking idiot..if they were in a hold up and he ran out on her and left her there,or they were in a hurricane and he bailed without her, that would be different..but she's KNOWINGLY AND WILLINGLY putting there lives at risk, just so she doesn't look bad to her snobby friends! Two totally separate things? Larry is right.
@@superstarreviews9937 I'm with you on this. The woman is irrational in this occasion.
Larry is right! Larry is right! Larry is right! Larry is usually right but just most of the time no one can see it.
I've been watching a lot of this lately and trying to figure him out. I think it's because his brutal honestly and lack of social filter is really what would happen if we were just completely truthful about every situation in our lives makes it so awesome. In just about every situation on this show.
Josh Peterson no you don’t
Lizzie Martin lmfao he’s not usually right, the whole point is he has zero social filters good or bad and has the money to not care about anything
Lizzie Martin he was always right. That’s the genius of the show.
I think if he and Cheryl were on the Titanic, and there was only one space left on the lifeboat, Larry would take it. Lol!
Cheryl: “I’ll see you when you get back. “ Wanda:”If you’re still here. “
It is bonkers that Cheryl is implying simply wanting to continue existing is the same as “being fine if I died”
Sadly, not an unusual move 😄
“Maybe golfing to Pebble Beach”
Larry David is a genius
At least one of us would survive
Hotchie Motchie
“It almost seems a little “selfish” to want both of us to perish.” Lol
wow these two act great together.
Curb is the best antidepressant
Larry's facial expression as he says "what?" from 1:22-1:27 is hilarious!!!
😭😭😂😂😂
1:35 I thought I’d never say this, but Larry is right
“Anthrax, a bomb, I don’t know, it could be something crazy” 😂😂
Comedic genius
I’d leave I don’t care what the wife says I’m leaving she’s the one that wants to stay
No you wouldn’t. Get real. If you actually think you can do that, then your wife is probably cheating on you and getting banged by another man or men.
That's some good acting Wanda "I'm going to Vegas with my boyfriend." 😂💦♀♀
Truly one of the great comedy scenes of all time. Such absolutely brilliant restraint. They fed masterfully off of each other. Pure gold.
"Alanis Morissette is going to sing" That sounds like even more reason to leave.
Fuck you 🤣! Alanis Morisette was my JHS life. 😅
That idiot doesn't even know the meaning of the word ironic.
I haven't seen the rest of this, but I felt sure they were gonna jump cut to a shot of Larry on the fairway at Pebble Beach.
If your partner doesn't tell you to get the hell out of there because they want you to be safe then you probably should find someone else who cares about you.
She is being selfish, especially because she wants to stay for some stupid event!
Larry is supose to be the bad guy in this situation but he's not the one who is so superficial that he would put him and his wife at risk just to save face for a benifit
" I never thought I'd say this but Larry is right" hahhahahaha
This same conversation happened between the owner of the WTC and his buddies that had dentist appointments.
Man Cheryl was beautiful
Can't believe she got all that plastic surgery, she looks awful now.
I’m goin to Vegas
the way his lip smacks when he say "a little selfish" always cracked me up
I wonder how many times they broke filming this scene. I couldn't and I'm just watching it.
"I'm going to Vegas with my boyfriend" .....I don't believe you
Yes Larry survival first cheryl is risking her own life no need to risk yours too
his delivery of the word "perish" is pure gold
I love how Wanda has such disdain for Larry
it's because he's a bald ass man
Boyfriend? Whooops
Amazing that a lot of the scrip is improvised 😂😄👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Wanda's not playing, she's out..🏃♀️
Well the first few days would be rough, but then I would have to learn to live with the overwhelming sorrow. Perhaps my overwhelming bank account can bring me some comfort.
He got me at" necessarily "
I feel like the terrorists would've understood and been open to rescheduling the attack
Larry saying “Selfish” was perfect.
Oh goodness this one is the best so far, I was eating and almost choked.
yeah theres a good reason why the CIA would know this info.
Wanda Sykes is older female Hannibal Buress
Pebble beach babeeee!
Don't understand why all of these people dislike Cheryl 🤔🇬🇧
All she does is complain, nag, and blame Larry for everything.
Cheryl exhibits the typical American attitude here, I mean Alanis Morissette and all. Ha!
Painfully slow conversation
Larry's logic spot on
Am I the only one that is in tears watching this? Its so overly dramatic and I don't know how Larry keeps a straight face. I'm dying...👊😄
I wonder how many takes this scene took cos you can see he wants to laugh lol
It’s funny how Cheryl is more offended that Larry wants to go golfing at pebble beach with the existential terrorist threat being her main concern THEN, but not that realizing the stupidity of her insisting that she stay for her benefit...which is way more ridiculous an idea than Larry going golfing...by himself. 😂😂😂👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Fabulous!
Everyone has a brother whose best friend is with the CIA and heard it from the top but you MUSTN'T tell anyone.
That's exactly how it works.
Priceless, wonderful comedy.
It’s like he knows he’s digging himself a deeper and deeper grave, but just keeps going one...word...at...a..........time?
