Cheryl Hines was kind of underrated as the straight woman in the early seasons of this show. "Why would you do that, Larry?" was practically a drinking-game line, but she always kept it fresh.
How she keeps the smile plastered on her face after she turns around and says "hi" is hilarious. Little things like that give off hints that the character is a little crazy.
I will say this, before I had my kid I didn't think I would ever drink so many juice boxes and capri suns. Not to mention the mickey mouse clubhouse fruit snacks yum.
@@rickrose5377 what with her pushing Susie out of the balcony after going crazy when she hears the looney tunes song in Sammy’s room and Susie is saved by the sponge cakes?
@Rand McNally The layman's translation of non-sequitur is "does not follow." The nanny keeps saying things that have no connection to what she was just talking about the second before.
A lot of it's not even scripted. Much of it is improvised, LD and the writers only write an outline and the actors full in the blanks as they film. You can tell when Cheri interrupts Cheryl. And when Cheryl has to think of something before she says "She takes baths with her socks on." It's what helps make this show hilarious
Always remarkable how an actor with real talent stands out on this show. Just look at all of the little things she does with her face and eyes and voice and body and . . .
lol...that Looney toon song reminds me of when in H.S. I worked in Fantasy Land at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World...I was a street sweeper and spent most of my time in front of It's a Small World...that It's a small world after all theme song ran over and over and after a while it kinda made you feel a bit crazy.
😂 such a classic scene. Wish the car scene right after was included. “Buying some sponge cake for my friend”..”there you go…”do you like sponge cake?”…”who doesn’t?”.
It's a suitcase. It doesn't have wheels.
Lucky Luke funny, tbh, I can’t even remember making this comment...I thought it was someone else who had observed the same thing 🤦♂️😂!
@mrjo2thec I took a risk 🤷♂️
Great line
@mrjo2thec i dont say this often but after reading your comment i have to say this ..... you suck at life
@@BOOMMERZ024420 haha, actually, what's fun is to play the curb music midway through his comment...fits perfectly!
Cheri Oteri is great! I love seeing groundlings
This 5 minutes is packed full of great comedy acting.
Martine is the best! She should have been a reoccurring character!🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Cheri Oteri is so underrated. Hilarious.
The best female SNL cast member ever. The best Jerry, the best
I think she's so sexy.
Was thinking the same thing
And she and Larry have Amazing chemistry
It’s like they are both real life loony toons 😂
@@thegadflygang5381 completely agree and during one of the best eras of snl she really stood out. Haha gonna have to watch some clips of her and will
she was the best on SNL
i was hoping she would tell LD to simmer down now
🤣🤣🤣Yesss!!💯💯👏👏💓💓✌️
Cheryl's reactions are the best.
She's definitely Looney Tunes
Shaun Feldman For fifteen years!
Listening to that song over an extended period of time could drive anybody nuts!
"How about that thing?" LOL
The way Larry pronounces “Hugh” 😂😂
4:34 " ...sh'e maybe a little eccentric but she seems perfectly harmless to me"... Nanny: "diiii----didellit-di-di-dee..." LMAO!
She actually didn’t seem THAT crazy until she sang the Luney Tunes theme lol...then it was all downhill
I don't know, that "hi" at the very beginning was a red flag for me 😂
@@rayfinkle9369 haha well if you watch the entire episode she is very normal and calm at the pool party
The Looney tunes lodge for 15 years lol :-) so funny. She brought her suitcase did you see that. Lol :-)
that looney tunes theme at the end was fucking gold lol
lmao larry david is a genius
"It's a suitcase, doesn't have wheels...."
I break up when I hear her sing the looney tunes song from the living room lol!
"Nhhooo...I don't dime. I didn't dime."
He said I know you and I know the host, don't worry about it Ill handle it!
she is INTENSE
I don’t dime, I didn’t dime
Marteen is awesome
Who doesn't enjoy a good corndog?
I mean, who doesn't take baths with their socks on? Is that odd?
lettersfromhelen And I enjoy a good corn dog.
This is why live-ins are supposed to be paid more than live-out rather than less. Because if they have to quit or get fired they are homeless.
Cheri Oteri hahaha
I don't dime
She ratted!
How bout that thing?
87 people who saw this video worked at Magic Mountain for 15 years
I like to drop that
probably my least favorite episode from the early seasons, but still good
Lol
Suitcase - doesn't have wheels
What season is this one on ? Does anyone know please ?
Season 3 (2002).
Good strategy when you're homeless...just show up with your suitcase and act crazy.
Cheryl Hines was kind of underrated as the straight woman in the early seasons of this show. "Why would you do that, Larry?" was practically a drinking-game line, but she always kept it fresh.
I don't think Cheryl gets enough credit. This scene is a perfect example of how important she is to the ensemble
I love how she finds him funny sometimes but he's still just mostly a lot to deal with
@LoveRetro44 Agreed, to be honest I always found a lil bit of missoginy in that attitude towards Cheryl.
Plot twist: Larry is the actual straight man of the show. Everyone else is insane
I can’t stand her and think she’s OVERrated.
"It's a suitcase, it doesn't have wheels."
Best line, best delivery, best acting. Just phenomenal.
A nanny who doesn't dime is a nanny you need to keep.
How about that thing!!
why does it mean you don't dime? does it mean to not rat someone out?
yes
I probably would as well
*SHE A RIDER*
How she keeps the smile plastered on her face after she turns around and says "hi" is hilarious. Little things like that give off hints that the character is a little crazy.
Is smiling to much makes you crazy
I’ll be honest the nanny is actually right it’s kind of Larry’s fault
It's 100% Larry's fault
No it is not
It is never Larry's fault
Larry was 100 % right
Larry is ALWAYS right
Poor Larry
kinda? Did Larry write this comment?
It's always his fault lol
Editor's note: It’s always Larry's fault.
I took a risk
the great quote that sums up all of Curb
Best line of the entire series. So simple, elegant, and yet genius.
I laughed so loud.
@@morrossey absolutely
The Dancing Vegan Atheist and the delivery is perfect
I love how the nanny is drinking a juice box lol
AddictedFort1E I also love that the Davids have juice boxes in the fridge in the first place!
I imagine she brings them with her
That's a great detail I never noticed.
I will say this, before I had my kid I didn't think I would ever drink so many juice boxes and capri suns. Not to mention the mickey mouse clubhouse fruit snacks yum.
aren't those martinis
he eats when he dosent want to dicuss something. drives me crazy.
Elaine used to cough when she lied.
I do the same shit lmao
LD's alter-ego, George Costanza, claims that eating an apple during a conversation makes him feel and appear at-ease.
She takes baths with her socks on
Larry: "She squealed on you?!" ... Sheri: " SHE RATTED!"
Pigs and rats.
It was weird hearing Larry use the word "squeal." It was weird hearing him use slang
lmao
Lol..”did you tell him it was me?”…”I don’t dime”
4:34 " ...sh'e maybe a little eccentric but she seems perfectly harmless to me"... Nanny: "diiii----didellit-di-di-dee..." LMAO!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
why Cheri Oteri isn't a more known comediant? she is great here
" I am homeless! Except I don't stink!" LMAO!!.. Cheri Oteri I love you!!
I don't.
@@Ray-rt1ogok...why?
She's a great cheerleader 😉
she bought her suitcase
I love that Larry’s eating an apple throughout this sketch. Isn’t there a Seinfeld episode/where George eats an apple to give him confidence.
He says it makes him feel and appear relaxed. And evidently that was a personal detail that came straight from George's creator and inspiration, LD.
George eats a mango ig
@@atryshsharma773
Well, the mango is a different episode, and it gives him more than, uh, 'confidence'.
When he’s on the phone with a woman in that episode, he eats an apple. Later Jerry tells him that’s enough with the apples
i love the whole " i took a risk" thing, the right personality match to larry would have laughed their ass off
I like how "petting horses" and "enjoying corndogs" are redflags for Cheryl. Even Larry was questioning the corn dog hahaha
She takes baths with her socks on....lmao
It was fun..! IT WAS FUN..!
no ones favorite line "HOW BOUT THAT THING- ITS HUUUGE"
2:28 the reaction of Cheryl when the nanny says "it's huge".
Cheryl: Why would you do that, Larry?
Larry: I took a risk...
That's the entire pitch for Curb.
The second the nanny turned around and said hi to Larry she had me cracking up. O'Terry is great
richard lewis owns the term " from hell" lol just like Costanzas uncle was the first person to use the expression " pardon my french "
"no I don't dime...I didn't dime"
lol
Noooo I don't dime.
why Cheri Oteri isn't a more known comediant? she is great here
Dirty Vino: she used to, she was in snl.
nalle hansen I'm pretty sure everyone who knows Cheri knew that she in Snl
She was hilarious in Scary Movie
Juan Lopez Gale Swallows, every since I found that out I wanted to pound Cheri.
Take it easy, they're free
"I brought my suitcase so if there is any problem I can just stay...........here."
The nanny actress is so great in this scene. The suitcase doesn’t have wheels. I don’t dime.
"Hi 🤪" 😂😂😂
Cheri O'Terri a fuckin comedic genius. God bless you queen
There is so much subtlety in what Oteri does.. it's genius. Love this lady - Screamin funny.
Cheri Oteri is outstanding at playing the dumb chick...she made an appearance in Boston Legal and was simply brilliant there too.
I love Cheri Oteri She had me hooked since Snl She is so funny.
I like how they are hugely wealthy and yet can't see a solution to the problem.
Is it just me or Martine looks like Martin Short?
Cheri Oteri delivery is so perfect. Underrated actress for sure
She takes baths with her socks on!🤣
“You’re home is BIG!🙄” God, I love this show.

The look on Larry's face at the end was priceless
That meta joke of showing she’s looney by singing the looney tunes theme is a nice touch.

Great observation
Honestly Cheri Oteri is like the female Martin Short, I mean that as high praise, she's one of the funniest people alive
Martin Short made a cameo in the very next episode!

She enjoys a good corn dog
I love the fact that right away there was a bond between Larry and Martine. Cheryl is way too mundane for Larry.
She's his straight man. By being with the "mundane" wife, he comes off funnier.
What a remarkably stupid thing you've said
such talented actors. Amazing script and story line. Best show ever.
