I bought the RS for a trip in Bali. Most of the time I was using the 360 module though and switching to the 4k on my phone as it is quicker. Still need to see the benefits of the boost lense.
the X2 is an awesome camera but will not record standalone 1 one lens any higher then 1080/1440P which would I get, the X2 as a secondary camera, not a primary.
First: thank you for all the info on the insta360, after watching and searching I just bought the RS yesterday, I just wanted to do 360 videos, but because i am new to action cameras in general I thought why i am limiting my self to 360 only with the X2, I think for a beginner like me its better to test what I may like more action camera filming or 360, so far i am happy with my decision, still haven’t filming because I thought the memory card already included, tomorrow i am going to get one, any advice regarding memory card?
great enjoy your new camera, im surprised it didn't come with an sd card, not do..... but if your going to buy one I fully recommend the sandisk extreme pro (black and red) these are best. have fun!
@@ZanderRound may i ask why are you surprised, maybe I didn’t see it, where could they placed it in the box? Because its not shown in the included items on the back of the box.

after watching tons of comparison videos, i ended up buying one rs twin edition.....but 90% of the time ended up using only 360 lens.....now i am thinking....i should have bought one x2 and had saved some bucks.....probably i am going to reutrn one rs and buy one x2 because practically i want to use 360 lens, yes it comes with some sacrifices but you get 360 freedom!
Been following your videos about the One RS and decided to buy one as liked the idea of upgrading to 1inch in the future. However, out of the box I've had all sorts of issues trying to connect to the phone. Tried different phones and all the advice on Insta360 support until they told me to return it 😔 Having now looked around on forums it appears that I'm not alone in having problems with connecting the camera. I've returned it for a full refund and now debating to "try" again and hope that it was just bad luck that I'd landed one from a bad batch! Do you have any thoughts (or have heard of others having connection issues) or have evidence of reliability/connecting etc? I still love the idea of the camera but my confidence has been put off - So your thoughts would be welcome - Maybe the One X2 would be a better option?? Graham
Hi sorry to hear this, I personally have not experienced any issues connecting any of the cameras, its hard to really diagnose or offer any solutions without having a go myself with the camera but I would try a few things, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarting the device, trying a different high end sd card ( the one they send is a basic one) apart from that im not sure what could cause the camera not to connect, and insure you tired all these anyway. hope you have better luck next time z
@@ZanderRound Thanks for taking the time to respond - It's being picked up tomorrow (and yes I tried all the other things you suggested too 😊) I even double checked version of Android and enough space etc and all checks out - (but after the new firmware I wasn't even seeing the camera on Wifi or Bluetooth scans) I've decided to take the plunge though and order a new one and hope that it was just a "bad Core" The insta360 support wasn't great but did talk me through all the possible actions so do have to give them some credit when they said best to return in - From what I've read on some other forums some suggest that the issues may be to do with the latest firmware update... not so sure but we will see what happens with the new one arrives - So fingers crossed I will be a happy boy tomorrow afternoon otherwise Amazon will be getting another return! 😏 PS great channel - Keep em coming!

Hi, great comparison. New subs here. I just wanna ask your opinion, currently I am owning a DJI OSMO ACTION and a Gopro Hero 5 Session. I am doing motovlog. So need 2 cameras to get 2 angle facing front and backwards as usual. If i am planning to get a 360 camera, which one do you suggest. Should I get X2 for 360 only or RS for extra 4K lens? And which one you think is more durable? Thanks.
As you have the action cam already for 4K I would go for the x2 for sure, it is due for an update I’m not sure when but it might be worth waiting for the updated version, if you don’t want to wait then the RS is a great option for both 4K and 360
Hey bud, have you got the audio adapter and accessory shoe for the One RS yet? If not I have them both and you are welcome to them as I’ve just returned the One RS
@@ZanderRound I couldn’t get on with it mate. I have the Insta360 One X2 and find the 360 on that far better that the One RS - especially if you’re using external audio. I found that the angles of filming were reduced with the One RS as even the Rode Wireless Go ll is easily picked up in frame. I also didn’t like the 4K boost lens - I found the colour science poor in comparison to the DJI Action 2 and in fact the original Osmo Action is better. I must admit that the 1” Leica mod is extremely good and makes the One RS a completely different animal but then I think this is not an action camera but an action camera TRYING to be a vlogging camera. Sadly for me I think the modular system is great but I think it’s very outdated in terms of capabilities. Some will love it but sadly not me. My mate over at ItzSky has also returned his - he’s a tech channel like yourself. I did tell him to check you out. You have a very good channel.
I had waterproof problems with the one X2, moisture got into the charging point and I had to send the camera for repair, I was considering going for the One RS but after listening to your video I will stick with the X2 and maybe workout how to waterproof the charging point.
Awesome video my friend. I am closer to knowing which camera might be better for me, but as you say, its hard to choose. I came across the x2 first, and it seems to be consistently the one I would go for too. My next thoughts will be how it can help me tell the story I want to create.. I know how I would like to use it, but would that actually work (filming wildlife with the ability to track object) I've searched and no one has used it the way I thought might be an idea - Well apart from Chris Packham on the tv a few months ago!!! Not sure that counts! But I am closer to a decision!... Sort of!!!
Tbh honest 360 may be better for you, for instance you could but the camera in a bird box and have the ability to look all around when you get the footage in post production in the app. External power would be needed to record for longer periods but I think that would work well. Thanks for the comment as always Calvin🙏
You kind of made it more confusing as did Insta 360 for making the ONE RS. Does the X2 have a better 360 camera than the One RS? Is that why you choose the X2? If its the same 360 camera, why wouldn't you choose the RS so that you can shoot in 4k too? Why did Insta 360 make another camera with 360? And finally, the Go Pro 360 shoots in 360 and 4k, why wouldn't you choose that. Thanks man, love your reviews!
