Thanks for the review you two. This will most likely be my first IEM. I have mostly used headphones and speakers for games and music. I am highly interested in these IEMs.
Just got these delivered today and i have to say it sounds impressive with the included dongle dac. The biggest difference for me compared to my old bluetooth earbuds is the instrument separation and sublime vocals. Should i get an external dac/amp like the RU6? Will i hear a noticeable improvement in sound quality?
@@vikrambhaskar7976 first, congrats on the Alba! This is one IEM that I'd say you don't need to reach for a special dongle dac for improvement. It sounds excellent with the included dongle IMHO. Still, an external dongle is always a nice investment if you plan to get more IEMs in the future. Enjoy the Alba!
This could be a collector item for me since I'm more of a hybrid config enjoyer and happy owner of Myer a SL-41 (they perform better in busy tracks). In term of looks and fit the Alba is right in my alley and being a single DD it makes them very unique. I applaud the care that went into this review with the beautiful photography and will suggest it to my contacts.
How are these for trance, rock/metal, pop, electronica, classical ect... ? I listen to a wide range of genres. I like detailed, wide, punchy and a little warm sound. It must be enganging and musical. Not Fatigue. And of course comfortable. The most comfort iems ive had, is the beyerdynamic xelento. A good iem. But to pricey. 😊
@@gertost they are wide/airy and a little warm. I wouldn't call them too punchy but it's not bad. Great slam and extension. Lots of air up top which can be bright at times if you are sensitive to it. Personally I like them for those genres you mentioned.
I was thinking about buying this as my plunge into the iem market, and the fact that they provide a usb-c dongle really seals the deal for me as I don’t really want to buy one myself
@@suntanglory I did answer a question on the Falcon Ultra. It comes down to whether you want all the options Dunu gives you with tips and filters, modular cables. Stock sound out of the Alba I find to be better then both Ultra and EA1000. EA1000 will be more aggressive in upper mids. Alba also digs deeper into the bass response. Apologies for not covering in the video, but I'm always down for questions.
As someone who appreciates the Falcon Ultra, I would still take the Alba over the Ultra. I think the Alba has more clarity/resolution and are just great out of the box. I think the Ultra is the better package having the different cable options and all the tips in the box, as well as different tuning options. Just need to decide what is more important.
Alright - so I just did a listen of the Ultra again. Forgot how good that IEM is as well, especially with the S&S tips from Dunu. So I feel the Ultra has more impact to the dynamics over the Alba. The Alba has more top end clarity that can be either bright or just bigger in staging. Both truly are excellent options. For Electronic, if I want impact/slam then I do think I would choose the Ultra. Though you can save a little money and still get excellent sound from the Alba.
@@Skeeb23 Thank you so much for going back and listening to Falcon Ultra and taking the time to give your honest opinion! I also have the idea that FU has more impact for this type of music, which is mostly what I will listen to… Thanks for time spent ✌🏼
Honestly the included tips are perfect. If wanting something else I cannot recommend the Eletech Baroque series of tips enough. Just know they fit smaller.
@@denislemieux7294 what size do you normally wear? I'm large but I actually need the XL, for instance. The nozzle on the Alba doesn't go very far in the canal which I like.
@@Skeeb23 medium in the past. But IEMs have always given my ears problems. Wax build up, irritation-itching, pain etc. I’m actually a bit nervous about purchasing them. From what everyone is saying, these are a real gem sound wise and comfort. FYI: right now I’m using Koss KPH40 and KSC75s. The 40s are awesome. Maybe I should just stick to those. But I’m curious.
@@Skeeb23 In what way bro can you explain in detail.. how is the dac perform in alba? which model dac u compare this with alba dac in the market coz I didn't see any dac specs in the product page.
@@ajaymichaels553 sorry was busy and couldn't elaborate more. Yeah the Alba is the better value for the included dongle. Imo it punches above its price point in performance as well. The Simgot is great as well, but the Alba has, again my opinion, better FR in general. Pairs up with anything but is fantastic with its own dongle.

Great place to start since you get the dongle included. If you get them, let me know what you think. Thank you for watching!
Absolutely LOVE these IEMs!
Yes, you do!!
weird, they only started shipping last week
Thanks for the unintentional song rec @5:30 lead me down a rabbit hole of songs !
It's the exact same tuning as the Moondrop Chu 2. would love a comparison because the price difference is enormous
Nice, Ryan! 🎉
I’ll be ordering a pair!

Awesome review as usual.
Meze did a great job with this. Wish it was available in black too
Thank you. If it was black then the name wouldn't make sense. The white is so clean though and I usually am a fan of all black as well!

Alba means first light I believe.
Better later than never. Same with the Sennheiser's iems.
Meze Alba..? I prefer Jessica Alba. ;-). I have the Meze 99 Classics headphone and hopefully I'll be able to test these IEMs in a week or 2.
What about the paint chipping?
Personally, I haven't experienced this yet with the Alba and Bri uses it quite often. I have heard reports of this, however.
