This is the most wonderful series, I have watched it over and over again, as an Irishman and an atheist, I adore the richness of the Anglican faith, and I am so sorry that the choir and the chapter were unable to have communion in St.Peters, it makes me sad and angry as a former catholic, to treat such wonderful people in this way.
What a wonderful series showing the workings of the cathedral and the school. Your are reminded so much of the history and traditions of the cathedral and often of the country as well.
I love Abbey's and Cathedrals of Britain as they contain so much history of Britain and the Monuments etc contained there in in the Abbeys and Cathedrals
I love this series! And the choir of Westminster Abbey are incredible! Could you upload their choral evensong from 5th December 2012? I recall the Grier introit of that broadcast being stunning.
The music was exceptionally beautiful. The mutual kindness and respect each Christian Church expressed for each was heart warming. Unfortunately, the reality of their deep theological differences was expressed at Holy Communion when the anglicans could not take the sacrament. The main theological issues being the role of the Roman Pontiff, the non validity ( according to Rome) of Anglican Orders, and the ordination of women.
Interesting and informative - quite wonderful. I`m not sure that visitors to the Abbey should be ' processed ' as if they are just so many fish fillets - most tourists have made a big effort to make their visit, so it seems to me to be a bit dismissive. Just an observation.
The problem with the Abbey js that it is so popular with tourists. The Abbey despite (or because of) being a Royal Peculiar it receives no financial aid from the State. The temptation is to charge fees to enter. There is never a happy medium and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
They have to assume a bit of assembly line about tourists. The numbers are massive and some come off tour buses in a big crush. Individual attention requires you take a guided tour. Remember too it is a working church as this documentary repeats and shows over again.
Part 1 was published on 24 April last; you should find it quite easily by using the search facility on the channel. Part 3 will be going up later in the year.
So very beautiful and interesting. What a shame they don’t yet have girls in the choir! They too could benefit from the experience and contribute to the Abbey. I hope this changes soon.

Wish all sites shared your standards. Might stop the invective some folks seem to thrive on. 😏
Hear hear!!
I'm pretty sure that little choir boy bringing his Teddy bear on the Italian journey and tucking it in just killed me.
UNBELIEVABLE HOW PROFESSIONAL THESE BOYS ARE !
Such a wonderful documentary. I was brought to tears several times listening to the choir
I'm really enjoying this series. I did not know about the choir singing at a papal mass. Late though it is, the news delights me.
Marvelous! Wonderful students and people of faith.
Absolutely wonderful program.
Brilliant, a real treasure.
I enjoyed this video immensely, both from the standpoint of music and religious overtones

Gotcha. It hardly seems like anything Jesus would appreciate. Peace be.
Lovely. It is late so I will have to wait to tomorrow to watch part three.

"i like carols because they are all cheery and it means Christmas is soon! "
I hope someone recorded that glorious choir
Kim Byers there are a few different videos on UA-cam of the choir. Doing a search should bring up quite a few results.
Angelic.
