Gavlo 😀
DAMN! lol missed that one.
🙂😊
This is sooooo exciting! Ty Alex and everyone for working so hard to get us going in LB!
You're most welcome, thanks for coming along for the ride!
Thank you so much for this video. I just bought a brand new co2 machine and I've spent countless days and hours trying/stressing about installing the right drivers, the ruida control panel and getting lightburn to FINALLY home to the top left of my machine. Hopefully my laser will now communicate properly and I can start smashing into cutting and engraving products. Cheers mate
Excellent - Thanks for this very detailed tutorial. Saved me a lot of effort I am sure.
You're welcome!
love the helpful videos Alex. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Nathan 🙂
Bloody good work thanks
Thanks for watching!
THANK YOU!! 🙏🏼
You got it!
I'll bet Oz is glad you are doing these videos so he doesn't have to. And I'm glad you're doing these videos so my learning curve will be cut way down.
Perhaps lol Oz likes things done a very specific way and knows the software better than me haha he may be bashing his head into a wall somewhere!
@@LaserEverything naaa, you have have this. Sometimes the best teachers are the people who had to struggle a little bit to learn it themselves.
Appreciate your optimism lol 😆 fingers crossed!
We'll be doing our own videos as well, but Alex and crew are certainly helping us out by doing these.
@@lightburnsoftware7598 I have to say he is really good at making these videos. I will be downloading a copy on the 30th. I'm going to buy it for sure.
It is good to know you guys are watching Alex's videos too. I kinda figure you will let him know if he is going down the wrong path. Thanks for all you guys do. You are making my retirement a fun time of life.
Hi there vary excited for your content, i recently got my 30w Monport Fiber laser, after using it for few days with Ezcad/Lightburn the power cut out mid engraving and there is no power from the laser head from that point on, i had many tries to figure it out looks like alot of people have this issue when the red beam traces the image but no emgraveing happens, no burn or laser effect on the material, i contacted the seller and i was told it is an driver issue, i had to uninstall and reinstall with their provided drivers but same thing happened, would gladly appreciate any help thank you
Hi, Thank you for having this channel! I have so many questions.... I've been using lightburn with a co2 laser for 3 years, but am adding a fiber (galvo) to our shop.... does this video help me get to where I will need to be if I already have lightburn installed. ( I have both licenses for both lasers)
Absolutely! This video helps with drivers so LightBurn can see the laser, and the playlist as a whole will be a great resource for the remainder of setup and resolving a lot of common troubleshooting points of getting things going when starting out with a new platform.
I should've come straight to this video and saved me hours of my life🤦🏿♂️
We're glad you're here now :)
Hey LaserEverything! I’m interested in picking up a galvo fiber laser to use with lightburn, is the setup more or less the same for Mac users? And which fiber lasers are compatible with lightburn that I should be looking at? Thanks!
love it thank you! what UV lens' do you recommend I get? I have the 160 (110) and 290 (200).. anything else?
The 110 work area is fantastic, and one in the 175-200 work area is a good mid size range (probably about the max I'd go for things like glass), and probably the biggest I'd recommend for a 5w UV in most use cases.
So I have Ezcad 2 running and working fine on my 60 watt Mopa fiber and when I connected lightburn, I’m just not getting the same buzzing sound, I get more of a hissing sound with lightburn. I just dont feel Lightburn is as poweful as when i use ezcad 2…
I believe all the settings are the same as Ezcad as well…why would this be?
So when do what you say mine does not go to ready it just says disconnected
I'm proper confused when it gets to the folder configuring ezcad2. I'm not getting the option in device manager when searching for changes to software
What about multipoint callibration of galvo area? Lightburn uses internal calibration software or i need use external programs?
LightBurn does not currently have a native solution for this. Still have to do corfile and it can be imported. We're covering it in a future episode this week.
So how will I swap between my co2 and fiber?
They are just different devices in LightBurn. You choose the other device, and connect to the correct USB port.
Tried installing a 30w fiber laser from a Chinese company called Highspeed laser. I can see the driver in the device manager (lightburn installs a newer version than the one in your video) but my laser is not recognized.
Same problem with a new EM-Smart laser - when I install the lightburn driver, EZCad stops recognizing the laser and lightburn won't recognize it without the updated driver. But then the lightburn one doesn't show a red framing light but it recognizes it.
I'm not sure what controllers Highspeed laser uses in their systems. Make sure you have a genuine Ezcad 2 controller or Cyclone clone board. Seacad controllers and ezcad 3 controllers are not supported.
You can fix the red light issue by heading into your F3 Param > Ports menu on ezcad. Note the red light port. Make sure it matches in LightBurn. Often a mismatch here is the cause of this issue.
Hey Alex, I got a galvo laser mopa 30w, I've managed to install lightburn and the drivers, the laser is connected but it's been identified as a UV, it's even framing but it's not engraving, the light just dances around like it is engraving but nothing. Any ideas??
Were you able to find out what the cause was? I'm having the same issue
Is there any initial install videos you can recommend for Mac OS users , currently using LB on a CO2 laser , will this be linked with it our completely stand alone , should be receiving my Galvo this week sometime
Check out Lightburn's UA-cam channel, I think they may have one.
Using lightburn, on the last page of lightburn installation is a checkmark to install the lightburn driver for galvo laser. The laser does not need to be on when using that method :)
can i install lightburn on a new pc that never had ezcad2 installed and occupy it with the fiber machine?
Yep!
How do you add device? The window doesn't automatically pop up
If the window isn't popping up automatically for you, you can click "Devices" in the lower right hand corner to get the menu to pop up manually.
Are you going to cover the mac version ? because even though my Config File was there it says Error putting it in??
I don't currently own one but perhaps should pick one up for things like this. I'll see what I can do.
Hi Alex, LMA member here. I'm running LB on a mac. I already have a ruida co2 connected but now looking to add a Galvo. When trying to detect for the machine it finds nothing, any ideas? BTW I have the galvo license.
Thank you for your support! Make sure the machine is on, plugged in, if you're using any extenders or hubs remove them. If none of that works, contact Lightburn support so they can validate the status of your license.
For me that i use already lightburn for co2 what happens? I will have to reinstall lb?
Yeah during the beta period you'll just install the new version over the old one - shouldn't have to do anything else until the 15th when you'll have to buy the galvo license upgrade.
So, do I need uninstall Ezcad2 and it's driver's and them install LightBurn? or can I live Ezcad2 and run both from the same PC?
You can leave the ezcad drivers and install lightburn's drivers over them. We talk about how to swap back and forth quickly in episode 3.
Hello, lightburn can’t find my laser, I have a new 30W Raycus Fiber Laser I did also select the box for EZCAD2 galvos, but then it says “BJJCZ USBDevice Install failed” I have installed Ezcad and it works fine, I am using windows10 but I would like to buy Lightburn so I downloaded the 30 day trial I would appreciate any help thanks
Check out this video here: ua-cam.com/video/lGO9IsJbN14/v-deo.html I think it will get you pointed in the right direction.
So I am ready to install the M7 I have. Can I configure Light Burn to run my boss co and then switch over to the M7? I just updated LB but haven't installed the ezcad drivers. Can I import the drivers without removing LB all over again?
Hey Hammeredge, you can indeed. You can even open 2 instances of LightBurn with 1 set to device for co2, and the other set to fiber. Then you can control them independently even at the same time.
A bit further into the crash course (episode 3) we cover swapping between ezcad and lightburn, you won't need to remove LB. :)
I followed exactly this guide and my laser was also found by Lightburn. Now to my problem: as soon as I want to start engraving something and go to start, nothing happens. The laser will not start. does anyone have any tips for me?
Check your ports in the Device settings (we cover this later on in the series) and make sure they match what you have in ezcad, particularly the start marking IO
Will it find drivers for rebranded EzCad Programs? The laser i have uses a company supplied and rebranded version.
Depends on which rebrand. Many just use the stock ezcad drivers - others have proprietary integrations and drivers. You can always check the downloads section at www.lasereverything.net/ which is where we archive all of the software and auxiliary files we collect.
I'm following the steps in this video and everything was going smoothly! Lightburn found my laser but I'm getting a "You have selected a galvo device but do not have the galvo license" message with the only option being to "upgrade your license key". All other options are greyed out. Selecting the upgrade button just kicks me back to the "Find Your Laser" page. This is a fresh download of version 1.2.00 from today (7/1/22) at around 8:45am. Suggestions??
I'd reach out to lightburn directly via their support forum about issues like this. Seems non-standard.

@@LaserEverything Thanks, I already did but I also know you are probably the most responsive laser person on earth so I figured I'd post here too. :-) At least if anyone else has the same problem they won't feel alone. LOL
@@nwctsportshooting7321 I had the same problem about 5 minutes ago. Shut Lightburn down, and thought I'd try it again and it wasn't greyed out when I reopened and proceeded to add device.
@@LibaciFibs That did it! Thank you for posting.

HELP! ... Pls. Lightburn wont open file "markcfg7" as shown at 7.52 of this vid. "Lightburn doesn't recognise the extension" is the message I get when I try, right click and open with. Can someone assist please?

Anybody using iMac OS and LB …can you advise how to inout the corfile2 please. I jave tried import, no show usung open :(
I have totally given up on light burn. I've spent hours trying to get it to install. No luck...
Oh no, have you posted about it in the Discord server/Facebook group yet? Emailed lightburn? support@lightburnsoftware.com

Hi! I imported all my Ezcad2 settings to lightburn. looked over all the settings and it looks good. only problem now is the scale. In Ezcad2 20x20 box is 20mmx20mm , the settings in lightburn for galvo1 and 2 with offsett etc is identical, but in lightburn 20x20 comes out as 18.5x18.5.
never mind, solved it :D
I can t find the usblmv file . remove lightburn and started over but it's not in divice manager
Are you sure you're on an Ezcad 2 controller? Ezcad 3 boards show up with a different name and aren't currently supported. Make sure you're checking not just devices with out drivers but also in the USB devices categories in device manager as sometimes it can be hidden in there.
my laser is not recognized by lightburn, I have BJJCZ V4 board and use ezcad2.
drivers are installed without problems but when I click find device lightburn does not find anything
Until some of the initial bugs post-release get sorted out I would post all technical issues like drivers to their support team here as they'll be best suited to root out issues like this: forum.lightburnsoftware.com/
I am in the same situation, lightburn does not recognize my laser fiber. What can I do to be able to use lightburn?
In case anyone else runs into this. I had an error when loading my markcfg7. It said that the correction file (.cor) was not in some default file path (C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\EM\1924536SN20200723M101C.cor). So I created that file path on my computer took the .cor file that came on the usb stick with my laser and renamed it and put it in that location. This resolved the error. I haven't gone any further, so I can't confirm that it works for the following steps.
Regardless what I do its not showing my Fiber laser as connected
Sorry to hear that! If you're still experiencing troubles and the video guide hasn't helped, there may be something else going on. If you haven't, join one of the communities we list in the description and make a forum post, and the team and community can help troubleshoot further.
Good afternoon, can we install two software, one for CO2 and one for LASER FIBER, on the same IOS? Or do I have to have two IOS? thanksos
We cover this in Episode 16 :)
do I have to uninstall Lightburn when I have it already for my Co2?
You do not but you will have to update to the latest version to try the beta and you certainly will have to purchase a galvo license on the 15th.
I have a problem, yesterday i had it downloaded and working minus circles where not round but i was playing around with the software and the whole panel on the right disappeared along with the top section of tools on the left bar. Basically nothing is working now. And I’ve tried to redownload but no progress. Can you help?
At the top of lightburn, go to window, and select "reset to default layout", and that will return the UI to out of the box views.
when I press Find my laser it does not searching anything, just blank page..Can someone help me with this.
Thanks
Did you get help with this? I’m also facing the same challenge
Anyone have an issue with "Find my laser", my laser is active on the computer but shows in device manager under its own drop down tab labeled "BJJCZ Device" rather then being included in the "universal serial bus controllers" drop down tab. Assuming this is the reason lightburn is unable to find the laser for communication?
For tech support please join the Discord Server or Facebook Group, links are in the description :)
@@LaserEverything The zadig driver swap fixed mine doing this
markconfig7 tem no ezcad ou tem que baixar a parte?
Markconfig7 is inside the ezcad folder, it should be within the folder of ezcad2 if you have the program already. If you do not have a copy of ezcad2 that came with your laser, you can generate the device manually instead of importing it.
How to get license key in
Lightburn isn't recognizing my laser. I have "BJJCZ Device" showing in my device manager as described at 5:27 in the video and no universal serial bus device. I tried to correct this several times by reloading Lightburn to try and get the drivers to load properly, but no luck. Any suggestions?
I'd reach out to lightburn directly via their support forum about issues like this as it may be a bit technical and they'll be better suited to help you get it resolved. They have an amazing support forum.

Hi Erick! Same issue here. Have you found any resolution yet?
@@zachariahvercruyssen5305 Any info on this issue yet
I'm having the same problem I cannot get light burn to recognize my laser. I've jumped through all the Hoops with the downloads Etc and it just will not work. I've got messages off to lightburn and to xtool hoping that I can get a solution to the problem
@@tomw5435 Have you tried to turn off the laser and removing the bbjc device in the device manager than installing
We installed lightburn but could not see the option 'Install EzCad2 driver (used by galvos)'. So we could not check this box. Why is this? Is this a problem?
came to ask the same, been waiting for today
Probably not version 1.2, try to download again - it's been out for a few hours now.
See above
So I have license for my CO2 50watt laser. Can I upload new update and install software for my 30watt fiber Galvo with EZCAD 2 ? Or do I need to buy another license to run Fiber Laser in LightBurn?
Thank you in advance
You'll have to buy the Lightburn for Galvo license as an add on to your current license.
Thank you Sir
Is there anything different to consider for us who aim to run it on a Mac?
Nope, more or less the same thing. Just a little more leg work to get those intial device settings since you won't be running a copy of ezcad from the factory to copy from.
If you copy the factory settings file from the Windows computer to the Mac isn’t it able to import the file on the Mac version?
after I did everything on this video i was no longer able to use ezcad2???
Yes, LightBurn and Ezcad cannot run side by side as they use different drivers. A few episodes later in the series we talk about how to switch back and forth.
Thanks I’m on it 🫡
Good luck, have fun!
Is ezcad required to be installed prior or is LightBurn standalone capable?
Capable on it's own but you won't be able to do some things like build a correction file (we're getting into that shortly in the course) and import factory defaults from your manufacturer.
@@LaserEverything So, ezcad is basically still a necessity…
My ezcad2 has always been lacking. Many file types aren’t recognized. Several “laser” controls (project mark) are not listed! And I think I saw “evaluation version” somewhere associated with the software.
Making for a less than desirable situation. Not to mention getting my old laptop to recognize and run ezcad or the laser a royal pain. I’ve upgraded to a new computer and have to do it all again! 😩
My uv will be arriving in about a month. I remember you mentioning that lightburn currently doesn't support UV. My uv will have ezcad 2 board. Will this make it possible to use lightburn?
We still have to add that specific type of laser to LightBurn. I haven't looked yet to see if it uses different settings or commands than fiber, but we will be investigating soon. For now, it's just fiber and CO2 laser sources, but we're hoping to get UV added before long.
@@lightburnsoftware7598 thank you!
@@lightburnsoftware7598 Everything I've seen until now indicated ezcad2 boards would be supported today including UV. I was excited to get my UV going today and fortunately I read this comment before I went down the path. Hopefully it's clear on your download page that UV is not supported yet, otherwise you'll likely get a lot of confused customers. Looking fwd to UV support soon hopefully.
@@terrysol1 It says on the fiber release announcement and in the documentation that UV is not currently supported. It is on our list to add shortly, but we don't have a machine with a UV source here that we can do captures with, so it's a little more cumbersome.
What happens to my lightburn library?
The answer should be "nothing" should be able to install right over your current installation. If you're nervous though go to the library tab and click Save and save a backup to your desktop which you can stash somewhere safe.
Libraries are now linked to devices. So you can make a new library for your galvo machine and when you switch to the galvo machine it will load up your galvo library.
I can’t find marconfig7. Suggestions?
screenshot your F3 Param pages and use it to fill out your device settings manually
🙂
🙂
I already have LB on my Mac and just received my fiber laser. I bought the Galvo upgrade. How do I select the EZCAD driver ( I have the usb plugged in that came with the laser) when I already have LB installed? Do I need to uninstall LB?

@@LaserEverything I did last night! I’m all set!! Thank you!
Can I copy over my EzCad work parameter library or will I be able to export-import the file? ie. EzCad>PARAM>MarkParam.lib (assuming that's the correct file and location)
Check our recent uploads, we did a video about a converter just before the tutorial series started :)
@@LaserEverything Thanks. I watched them but must have missed that.
Idk if we explicitly state lightburn conversion but it's definitely supported
