    Thanks for all the great information! I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to check my galvo's wattage? I purchased a 50w but it doesn't seem to have enough power to cut anything.

    These videos are great. Thank you for posting them. I got my 30watt fiber laser doing everything except I can't get any power. When I hit Start I can see a faint white light trying to mark but I just cannot get any power out of this thing. It works great in Ezcad. I have copied the ezcad file markcfg7 into Lightburn, I have changed the Fiber Type setting to all 4 of the choices and have changed the Max and Min Freq to match what they are in Ezcad. Nothing works. I still can't get my laser to fire with enough power to even mark my steel. I do not have ezcad installed on the computer that I have lightburn on. Can you please help me? I do have lightburn on another computer that I run my diode lasers and I don't have any problems.

    Just taken delivery of a co2 galvo with 110 x 110 lens, cut out some small squares on the extremities of the area, but the cut was slanted and the shapes came out distorted. Any help how I can a avoid this would be great.

    I have an Omtech FM7979-S 50W Fiber Laser Machine. I was using Lightburn at first, then had some issues when it updated. I switched to EZCad2, then having issues with inconsistent marking. So I'm switching back to Lightburn, but I tried to import the io port info and it didn't import. I can't find the information anywhere. I searched the OMtech site and support sites, nowhere to be found. Can you help out please?

    I have my fiber laser rotated 90 degrees do to space. all I have to do is mark galvo 2 is x axis, or is there more settings to be changed? keep up the great work you do on your videos

    • @LaserEverything

      That's a fine way to do it. Alternatively you can change the angle field in device settings to 90 or 270 degrees depending on how it's oriented but if it works it works :)

    I just setup mine, i could not find that file .cor but i used markcfg7, my 30w jpt is up to 600 freq. I checked in ezcad and in the documents provided by the supplier and it is correct. What is the difference between galvo 1 and galvo 2 ? Mine by default is galvo 2, thanks for the videos 😍

      @LaserEverything  Рік тому

      Galvo 1 and Galvo 2 are the two physical mirrors inside of your galvo head, just depends on how they are oriented which will determine if things are displayed appropriately or reversed. We get into how to generate corfiles a little later in this series so definitely watch the whole playlist.

      What specific setting are you looking for? We can't really get into it in the UA-cam comments as it's not the best place for more intensive support threads but we do have a few options where you can get help. Either check out Discord Server or Facebook group - links in the description - or you can check out our new forum over at www.lasereverything.net/forum and I'm sure we can get you pointed in the right direction.

      If you're using JPT or Raycus try one of the IPG serials instead. Often the issue and an easy fix if so.

    Thanks for all the tutorials, i was just a bit used of ezcad but discovering LB now, i did have a question regarding a field/lens problem, i have loaded the config files from my 300x300 lens (ftetha 420) ezcad settings but in LB the size is not correct when i mark for example a square or rectangle, also the skew seems to be off, when i draw a size 50x50 mm i get 57x57, if i change the field size to 345mmx345mm itr is slightly off, any ideas how to get this sorted or does it also has to do whit the skew ? thanks again for ur effort, will join ur page tonight again, quiet since you went away at your patreon

    I have a galvo 100w co2 . Cannot engrave text heigh 10mm . It looks very blurry, you cannot read it. I observe the laser line width is quite thick. What can cause this ? Is there a setting for a thin line?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому

      Are you sure you're in focus? If you are it's probably due to your galvo head. You're likely using a low X beam expander and a 10mm head. CO2 galvo typically requires a much larger beam expander which means you'll need a larger galvo scan head as well. We go over the process and results in detail here: ua-cam.com/video/fRc9miHIwkU/v-deo.html

    Do you HAVE to use EZcad, or can I solely use Lightburn? Brand new 50w fiber, doing the initial setup with little experience. Thanks for all your information you provide.

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому

      All you need ezcad for is corfile generation (for now, LB is working on generating corfiles natively) and you'll need either the mrkcfg7 file from the file folder or you'll need to be able to open it up temporarily to manually copy the device settings out for use in lightburn. After that you're free of the chains.

    • @Lindisfarnefarmer

      I started with Lightburn, have never used EZcad. Your laser should have come with a USB installation disk with the manufacturers preloaded EZCad and should have the necessary configuration file required to import into Lightburn.
      You should also have a sheet with the screenshot of your lens configuration. You can compare the sheet to the imported configuration files that were brought over. Hope this helps.

    • @scottmathieu5260

      @@LaserEverything so i did get the USB installation disk with the manufacturers preloaded EZCad, but the files contain items that dont seem to open. including "Lmcv2u", "Lmcvu.sys", "lmcv2uX64" (compressed zip file but wont open), and "WdfCoInstaller.01009.dll".
      Any help is appreciated!
      It is a Cloudray machine if that makes any difference or helps.

      refering to crash course video 3 - I have been getting stumped with getting the BJJCZ device folder to show up

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому +1

      @@scottmathieu5260 Those are drivers folders you're listing. You're looking for a folder called PLUG that should have a file in it called mkcfg7. Make sure you extract the ezcad folder before you go rooting through it if it's zipped. Ezcad doesn't install anywhere it just runs out of the folder wherever the folder is placed. The mkcfg7 file is the one to be imported into LightBurn for your initial device settings. Alternatively bring the Ezcad folder onto a windows machine (borrow one from a friend?) and launch Ezcad so you can inspect (and screenshot) the F3 Param menu as that's where all the device settings are kept.

    My Device Settings has an "Enable Blanking" setting. What does that do?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому +1

      Hey Reggie, I believe this is a newer feature that became available in LB, but essentially allows you to turn off the red dot within the laser between shapes. This would only work if the red dot is wired to a control port on the ezcad controller, and may also simply be unsupported in some cases.

    I have a Bescutter 30W fiber. Does 20 to 80 seem right for my min//max KHz/

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  9 місяців тому +1

      Bescutter is the manufacturer brand for the assembled laser, but the laser source model is what determines the frequency range, so can't really say for sure without knowing the source model inside the laser. If that came on the spec sheet, that's probably a safe value for min/max to go with, its possible they only offer one source model for the machine series you bought, but I'm not that familiar with Bescutter myself. If you want to be 100% sure, you'd have to remove the side panel of the box with the components in it, and there is a sticker on the laser source with the model information. We have a pretty big list of spec sheets on our website you can confirm from, or reach out in one of our communities through a thread and we can help confirm if you can grab the source model information. if they are suggesting 20-80khz, its likely a Raycus source, so you'll probably be looking for a Raycus sticker.

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  8 місяців тому

      rotating 90 degrees may mean you need to switch which galvo is operating as X axis, and then the "reverse direction" will mirror the output. you can reverse each motor independently. If you follow the course further in, this is actually fixed in a later step automatically with corfile

    I should really quit this channel. I thought I had a great laser setup with my 100W CO2 laser and a 30W fiber with a 300x300 mm lens. But then you told us that a smaller lens is better and now you are telling me that LightBurn for FIber is here. So I bought a 110x110 lens, the "everything" LightBurn license and I replaced the "Don't look through this hole with your good eye" label with real laser safety glasses.
    I've been binge watching the whole LightBurn for Galvo crash course (that took me 2 days) and got LightBurn to work on my fiber. Now it's time to re-watch some episodes and start optimizing my system.
    Oh ... meanwhile the UV laser is also on my wish-list - Thanks again 🤣

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому +2

      Doing lens corrections manually doesn't count as lens corrections in my book. It takes far too long if you have an expansive library of lenses. I am holding out hope for a true lens correction solution in LightBurn.

    • @BigHWorks
      @BigHWorks Рік тому

      @@LaserEverything Agreed, but as a new user I don't have an expansive library of lenses. My machine came with one lens so that is all I have in my EZCad2 file that came with it. Shouldn't I just create what I need for a new lens in LightBurn?
