Saturday Spotting wet but wonderful day at Basingstoke & Eastleigh 24/8/24

Sorry I forgot to add my into to this video 🤪. I did not expect to see Clan Line, that was an awesome surprise. The Statesman ran too, but I was expecting that. Enjoy!

Glad you got a nice surprise when Clan Line and us came in unexpectedly!
There was a broken rail just outside Reading and we came to a halt at Whitton and so we reversed diversion at Basingstoke onto the Southern Route to Reading instead.
Fortunately, the driver of the Class 47 was certified to drive the diversion. We pretty well had to get to Reading because our train was booked to pick up passengers there.
Luckily there was plenty of slack allowed for our booked path, and we arrived at Shrub Hill only 10 minutes late.
The weather improved greatly to hot and sunny on arrival at Worcester too!
