We love Gaylor! We used to camp in Tuolumne and would always do this towards the end of our camp trip, so we were acclamated to the super high altitude. Tough uphill in the beginning, basically straight up though, so you do have to be in good shape even with the short distance. Thanks so much for sharing! 😀

Wonderful job capturing the beauty of Yosemite! It was nice to see a different part of the park highlighted. Always a treat to find solitude too! Thank you for sharing this trail with us. Have a great week ahead! 👍

This video brings back memories! I did this hike back in 1983; not to see the mine (which I did) but to see White-bark Pines. Beautiful hike. BTW, my avatar is my most iconic photo from this hike: Gaylor Peak! 😊

I did the exact same hike the last week of July. I really enjoyed it. As you mentioned, the first 0.7 mile is steep, but great after that. Views all around at the top. Great video.

Sorry if this has been asked before (I forgot to ask this in your recent questions and answers video), but you often say you were alone on the trail, or saw just one other person, like in this trip, so....
1 - do you register with a park ranger before heading off?
2 - is there mobile phone coverage for emergency calls, or do you carry something like a Garmin inReach?
3 - do you have a tracking app on your phone so family/friends can see where you are?.
Much appreciated if you get chance to answer these questions or feel free to leave them for another Q AND A video!.

None of your amazon referral links in the description are working for me (Windows 11, Chrome browser). Those links do seem to work in Firefox. Not sure why the difference?

Sheety, on another note I've noticed that someone from a foreign country keeps posting comments with links to what I assume is a porn site. I keep reporting them. Unfortunately this has proliferated on many other channels as well.
