I don’t know if you read these comments or not, but if you do, I can tell you EXACTLY why people come to the two of you. You are excellent TEACHERS. The material you present is very clear-even for us who DON’T have art or color analysis experience. THANK YOU!
I feel like I see the world in an entirely different light thanks to your channel! I’ve looked into color analysis before but it didn’t “click” until I found you two!
Would love a more in-depth video about SOFT WINTER. Using online color analysis tools ~ I am a Soft Summer but I feel like I need darker colors. My perfect color is muted denim 🙏🏻
Totally agree. I actually have been typed a soft winter, so I do know my contours, but I struggle with finding lip shades and blushes. I can make a lot work, but well, it is work! 😂
Great tip. My observation is that the exact colours that suit you both within your palette and outside of it (i.e. sister seasons) are influenced not only by the general undertone, but also whether that undertone falls within the olive range. That is, a cool olive will be complimented by a slightly different palette than a cool non-olive undertone (the rest being the same). Obviously, that makes colour analysis even more complicated but in reality I think adjusting for the olive would be more precise and even more helpful, especially for those particularly sensitive to undertone.
I love your educational (and fun) content. I’m a teacher myself and you all do such a great job making things clear for us . Can’t wait to AI my own pallet with my hair hexcode. A fun experiment.
Very interesting! As someone who was deep autumn and now has a warm grey hair shade and warm skin tones and deep warm eye color I look pretty terrible in pastels, so no,, not a summer….Ill keep watching!
@@coffee100ful I’ll look at that, thank you. I used to be able to also wear a few of the winter colors. Just a few….I see why these ladies say there are multiple seasons.
There is a program that is really cool that lets you put in hex codes and then add mid points and it gives you multiple shades. meyerweb.com/eric/tools/color-blend/#FC0707:F2EDED:2:hex
Great little video, I was wondering if muted was only grey added to pure colors or if tints and shades could also be muted. Now to decide whether I am light or muted....😂
I have a question. As a soft autumn, I do not look good in grey. Yet adding grey to a color makes it softer. Why does adding an unflattering color (grey) to another color make the work for autumns?
Good information. I’ve always wondered about colours being made more muted by the addition of black or white, especially re white, when you can see how intense some pastels are.
I would say muted means closer to the center of the color wheel. If it were hair color it would look more like a brown/tan (black to grey) and not like a vivid fashion shade. IMHO.
I respectfully disagree, as this is based on your definition of muted. The added black (shade) and white (tint) is a visibly a desaturated version of the primary thus instantly less intense and you can see it on the video!. As a true autumn I could pull off the dark autumn color on the screen before I’d be able to pull off the primary color due to its intensity and clarity as it’s a pure color. This is why you have bright spring/winter. Light spring/dark winter etc are still relatively intense but they’re still desaturated somewhat as a result of the white and black.

So glad you enjoy the videos. And thank you for the kinds words ❤️
As a Soft , I could always tell something was off. Being typed is one thing, but finding the soft tones we need is another. Great video!
At last! Recognition that soft and muted not the same. Too many 'experts' don't seem to understand the difference. A really useful explanation.

This was fascinating! I want to go and experiment with AI and colors now!
Such a useful tip! I also understood “muted” by playing with image software, but this has given me inspiration to play a bit more 😊

Maybe a soft autumn?

Does this mean that if I want to dye a piece of clothing I could add a dark warm brown to it and get a colour in my season?
This is fascinating
What AI program are y’all using?
I was wondering the same thing
This can use chatgpt it any other one.

We just skimmed the surface in terms of color mixing, if you play with it a bit you will see it is far more nuanced than we could cover in one video.
I try do hard to find my color pallet and to shop for it.!
Brilliant!

Would like to know this too!
Gray can make a color softer, but for an Autumn Palette I add a touch of sienna or indian red when I am creating palette colors.

Thank you for the video. When I combine colors I use canva.
You're very welcome!
How do you get a perfect color from salt-n-pepper hair?
Yeah, I need to know too!
Salt and Pepper is tough, think in terms of overall percentage. If you are 50% salt and 50% pepper, blend those and then use that hexidecimal.
Great video
Thanks!
Speaking as a "soft" maybe we're just more confused than the "clears" haha cuz we're more subtle
So would this work for someone with natural black hair but isn't deep in colouring ?
I am thinking this too... like soft or bright winters for example 🤔
We did a very generalized class in muting color, we will go a little more in depth.
Wow great job thank you

First to comment! ❤❤❤ Thanks, great video as always 🎉
You're the best!
Cool! 😎
What about asians, most of us have black hair but we cant all be same season
