This is called "recruitment" marketing. It's how you get young people to want to be a military pilot or related occupation. This moment can change a kid's life.

A beautiful site. The father of a former student of mine is a Top Gun Instructor for the Navy. One day, he invited our family to be his guest on the runway as his students practice touch and goes they would be required to do on an aircraft carrier. I’ve never experienced anything so exhilarating (and, I, too, was once married to a US Marine). At the end, he took control of the air traffic control tower, and he did “THE” Top Gun flyby for us… afterburners and all. Every. Single. Hair on my body stood up involuntarily. It was a moment I’ll remember for the rest of my life. I’m so grateful for our military, our troops, and our soldiers. And, I agree with another commenter, who said that this is advertising… that day, children decided that THEY would one day do THAT. What an amazing thing. ♥️

That’s really cool to see! Back about 10-15 years ago I was vacationing with a friend in Key West Florida because I hadn’t had a vacation since I was a kid (so probably 12-15 years) so Key West was amazing compared to only ever going to Ocean City, Maryland as a kid. We were on one of the beaches (I can’t remember which one, I’d have to ask my friend) and a huge military aircraft slowly flew over the beach. It was black and was either a Blackhawk or a Chinook, but you could see the pilots and the soldiers in the back with the doors slid open and their legs hanging over! It was so cool!!

Redefining Psychological Warfare. Every little kid seeing this plane float in mid air now knows they can grow up to pilot it one day, and I guarantee sooo many will. Same concept as the FD pulling the fire truck up to a school and letting kids climb on it. What do you get? “I wanna be a firefighter!”
